DANIELS (Mailman), Elizabeth Jane "Betty" - 65, Lequille, passed away December 9, 2005, quietly at home, where she wanted to be. Born on May 31, 1940, in Annapolis Royal, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert B. Mailman (Lawrencetown) and Annie E. Ramsay. She is survived by her children, sons, Kevin (Angela King), Lequille; Derek (Lori Shaw), Round Hill; daughters, Sherri Deveau (Travis Bowers), Lequille; Denise Rice (Ricky), Lequille; Kelly Daniels (Doug Hannah), Graywood; Rhonda Daniels (Matthew Stevens), Lequille; and ex-husband, George M. Daniels, Liverpool. Sister of Sandra Gallant (Mike), Granville Ferry; Holly Orde (Chester), Kingston. Grandmother of Michael Daniels (Melissa), Jennifer Woods (Chris), Erin Rice (Jesse Phillips), Keith, Jessica, Dillan Daniels, and Tristin Stevens. Great-grandmother of Joshua, Jacobe, Olivia and Caleb Woods, Anita, Kaitlan, Justin and Cole Daniels. Aunt of Justin and Meloni Orde, Kane and Heidi Gallant. Niece of Nina Rice (Ramsay) Spurr), Irene Rice (Ramsay). She is also survived by several cousins. She was predeceased by sister, Marlene Lewis; infant grandsons, Paul and Catlin Daniels. Memorial service for family and close friends will be held Tuesday, December 13, at 3 p.m. in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment in Wadeville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation. "For all the Little Ones".

Dorothy Eleanor Veinot (91) of New Germany, passed away June 12, 2003 at the North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia, Queens County. Born in Farmington, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillis (Fancy) Langille. She was a lady of very strong faith and long-time member of the Parkdale-Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist Church, and for the last 20 years was a member of the Barss Corner United Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by daughters Shirley (Lorne - deceased) Stead, Kitchener, Ontario; Kathleen (Grant) Webber, Lake Charlotte; sons Arthur, Halifax; and Douglas (Patricia), Pinehurst; grandchildren Bruce (Nancy) Stead, David (Linda) Stead, Debbie (Jerry) Mings, Krista Stead, Scott Webber, Tina (Scott) Webber-Frail, Mark Veinot and Anne Veinot; eight great-grandchildren; brother Herbert (Phyllis) Langille; sister-in-law Ardath Langille, both of Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her husband Adelbert; brothers Ellory, Ralph and twin siblings.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Visitation was Sunday afternoon and evening, June 15, 2003, and funeral service was at 2 p.m., June 16, 2003 at the Barss Corner United Baptist Church and burial was at Parkdale-Maplewood Cemetery. Rev. Vaughan Henshaw officiated, assisted by grandson Rev. David Stead and nephew Rev. Leon Langille. Organist was Arthur Langille, and pallbearers were Richard Eldridge, Allan Foster, Lowell Frank, Earlen Eisener, Harold Rafuse and Alton Spidle.
Donations were made to the Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Parkdale-Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist Church or charity of choice.

CROUSE, Donald Gerald - 70, Baker Settlement, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 7, 2005, at home. Born in East Clifford, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Thelma (Beck) Crouse. Donald was a businessman prior to his illness. He was the owner and operator of Don's Auto Body and previously in partnership of Ross and Don's Auto Body in Baker Settlement. Donald's charm and wonderfully funny personality always ensured many friends and family would stop by the garage and house just to enjoy his company. He enjoyed playing cards, darts and crokinole. He enjoyed golfing and curling and was a member of both clubs in Bridgewater. Donald was a natural handyman. He built many houses and you could always count on him to be able to build, fix or repair almost anything. He enjoyed going to his cabin he built on Molega Lake and you could always hear him whistling and joking as he worked on his land. Since his illness began over a decade ago, he was cared for at home by his wife, Margaret, who devoted all her time to his needs. He will be greatly missed by many. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Margaret Oickle; sons, Wade (Wanda), Baker Settlement; Trevor, Monk Road; Jeff, Baker Settlement; daughters, Cheryl Meisner (Mitchell), Monk Road; Lou-Wana Whynot (Eric), Bridgewater; brothers, Brian, Larry (Brenda); sisters, Shirley (Gerald) Crouse, Jean Aulenback, Donna (Tony) Norwood; granddaughters, April Thompson (Charles), Dartmouth; Kellie Meisner, Hannah and Cicely, all of Monk Road; grandsons, Kerrie and Korrie, Monk Road; great-grandson, Dakota, Dartmouth. He was predeceased by son, Timothy; sister, Glenice Bolivar. No visitation in the funeral home. Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Private family burial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Baker Settlement Fire Department or St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement. Arrangements are entrusted to R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville.

VEINOT, Raymond David - 78, Middleton, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born July 26, 1929, he was a son of the late Clyde and Emma (Gates) Veinot. Raymond served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1958 to 1976. After retiring from the military he continued his occupation as a dental hygienist for many years in Lower Sackville and New Minas. Raymond is survived by his wife, the former Grace Naugler; sons David, Middleton and Robert, Hubley, Halifax Co.; daughter, Donna (Chris) Claridge, Tantallon; grandchildren, Kim and John Claridge; brother, Vernon, New Germany, and sister, Agnes Robar, Middleton. He was predeceased by brother, Ronald. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, Rev. Karen MacNeill officiating. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.

David A. Eichel, 54, of Rhodes Corner, Lunenburg County, passed away suddenly on August 8, 2002 while at his cottage in Greenfield, Queens County. He was the son of Ruby (Himmelman) Eichel, Bridgewater, and the late Douglas Eichel.
Besides his mother, he is also survived by his wife, Diane (Douglas); daughters Michelle (Robert) Ley, Hebbville; Angela, Belleville, Ontario; grandchildren Ryan and Nicole; brother Wayne (Florence), Bridgewater; sister Karen (Boyd) Oickle, Cookville. Besides his father, his son Corey predeceased him.
A public Legion service was held at Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, which was largely attended; a funeral service was also held at Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Interment followed at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. A reception was then held at Branch #24, Royal Canadian Legion, Bridgewater; where a large number of friends and family gathered to remember this great man.He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He had a great sense of humour and a love of life, he will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

WILE, Daniel Bernard (Buddy) — 82, of Wileville, Lunenburg Co., passed away June 15, 2009, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater on June 23, 1926, he was a son of the late Fred and Vera (Oickle) Wile. He was employed for 43 years in the automotive industry. We will always remember him for his love of family, gardening and his dogs, Mandy, Cuddles and Sebastian. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan; children, Wendy (Barrie) Simmons, Janet (Seldon) Fralic, Dan (Carla) Wile, Anne (Ed) Binet, Kendall Wile and Debbie Wile; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, John Andrew; brothers, Leslie, Max; sisters, Edith, Lena and Betty. A private family burial will take place at a later date. No flowers or visitation by request. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home located in Bridgewater.

SWALLOW, Laura Mae - 83, North River, Lunenburg Co., formerly of Falkland Ridge, Annapolis Co., died September 6, 1995, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late Wilfred Charles and Lois A. (Robar) Acker. Surviving are a daughter, Maxine, New Minas; son, Richard Acker, Ontario; sister, Goldie (Mrs. Sam MacDonald), Meisners Section; two granddaughters; three grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband, George; brothers, Laurie, Willie. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Langille's Funeral Home, 5267 Main St., New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River, Rev. Ted Heinze officiating. Burial in Falkland Ridge Cemetery, Falkland Ridge. Donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

NAUSS, Douglas Ellison - 59, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., died March 5, 1996, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Union Square, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Dennis Sylvanus and Grace Margaret (Joudrey) Naas. He was a former employee of Bowater Mer- sey Paper Company and at the time of his death owned and operated Douglas Nauss Trucking as a wood contractor. Surviving are his wife, the former Nora Joudrey; sons, Kevin, Brian, at home; sisters, Frances (Mrs. John Zwicker), Waldon; Muriel (Mrs. Ross Aulenback), Burlington, Ont.; brothers, Paul, Newburne; Darrell, Berwick; Moyle, Barss Corner; Lorraine, Newburne; Beverley, Upper Cornwall; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Scott; infant brothers, James, John. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in New Germany Funeral Home, 4895 Route 10, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday in Epworth United Church, New Germany, Rev. Wayne Mitton officiating. Burial in Epworth Church Cemetery, School Street, New Germany. EISNOR, Calvin Leo - 61, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away Monday, September 23, 2002, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in New Germany, he was the son of Leo Eisnor, New Germany and the late Dorothy (Drew) Eisnor. He had been employed for over 16 years with the South West Regional School Board as a school bus driver. Surviving are his wife, the former Eveline Emino; daughter, Carla Zinck, New Canada; son, Stephen (Krista) Emino, Watford; grandchildren, Connor and Prewitt Zinck, Olivia Emino. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, 4895 Rte. 10, New Germany. Graveside funeral service 11 a.m. Friday in Pinehurst Community Cemetery, Pinehurst, Linda Kuschnik officiating. Family flowers only, donations to any charity.

WAGNER, Margaret Annette — 74, Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Soliders’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Fauxburg, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late George C. and Ida R. (Veinotte) Spidell. Surviving are her husband, Clarke S. Wagner, Ayles­ford; daughter, Jayne A. (Phillip Orr) Wagner, Halifax; son, Gregory C. (Heather) Wagner, Woodville, Kings Co.; grandchildren, Ryan Benedict and Brett Wagner; sister, Dorothy Lambly, Westville; nieces and neph­ews. Besides her parents, she was pre­deceased by several brothers and sis­ters. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. All are welcome to a gathering of family and friends from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, October 30, at the home of Gregory and Heather Wagn­er, 366 Bligh Rd., Woodville. No flow­ers by request. Donations in her mem­ory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors and nurses for their care and compassion shown to Margaret. OICKLE, Stanley Whitford-89, North River, Lunenburg Co., died December 9, 1995, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at North River, he was a son of the late Archibald and Rosena (Acker) Oickle. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River. He was a sawyer most of his life, starting work with his father at Davison Lumber Company, Hastings, Annapolis Co., and then working at various mills until retirement in 1975. Surviving are his wife, the former Belle MacDonald; daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Cecil Tanner), North River; Lillian (Mrs. Mervyn Mailman), Springfield; Betty (Mrs. Everett Demone), North River; five granddaughters; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Idella, Florence, Beatrice, Eveline, Addie Mae, Goldie; brothers, Murray, Archie, William, Melburne, Isaac, Abraham; grandson, Dexter. Funeral 2 p.m. today in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River, Rev. Ted Heinz officiating. Burial in North River Cemetery. No flowers by request. NAAS, Darrel Earl - 60, Welsford, Kings Co., died November 22, 1998, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, as a result of a car/pedestrian accident. Born in Union Square, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Dennis and Grace (Joudrey) Naas. He worked on a sawmill crew and as a farm hand. Surviving are sisters, Frances (Mrs. John Zwicker), Walden; Muriel (Mrs. Ross Aulenback), Burlington, Ont.; brothers, Paul, Lorraine, Newburne; Moyle, Barss Corner; Beverly, Upper New Cornwall. He was predeceased by brothers, Douglas, John, James. Funeral 2 p.m. today in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Union Square, Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiating. Burial in Upper Cornwall Cemetery, Upper Cornwall, Lunenburg Co. Immediate family flowers only. OICKLE, Boyd Rex - 59, Cookville, Lunenburg Co., passed away suddenly February 2, 2006, at home. He was a well-known man for his contribution to public service as a Bridgewater letter carrier for 34 years. He enjoyed participating in many sports over the years and was instrumental in the development of horseshoe pitching along the South Shore as a founding member of the South Shore Horseshoe Pitchers Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his gardens, hunting and four-wheeling as a member of Bull Run Trail Association and Central Nova ATV Club. He was a beloved husband to Karen (Eichel) for 35 years; devoted father to daughters, Lisa, Bridgewater; Tracey (Wade), Pine Grove; a very special "Bampy" to grandchildren, Hayley, Colin, and Kendra. He is also survived by brothers, Greg (Stephanie), Bridgewater; Bradford (Janet), Maitland; Larry, Pleasantville; mother-in-law, Ruby, Bridgewater; brother-in-law, Wayne (Debby), Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Diane, Rhodes Corner; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Rex Oickle; half-brother, Theodore; father-in-law, Douglas; brother-in-law, David, and nephew, Corey. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Interment of cremated remains to take place following the service in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to the Bull Run Trail Association, Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
