Guy Ernest Fancy, 65, of East Dalhousie, was buried in the Anglican Cemetery, East Dalhousie, following funeral service at the Anglican Church, with Rev. William Bishop officiating.
He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Fancy.
He is survived by his second wife, Nellie; two daughters, Rena (Mrs. Charles Jodrey) of Cherryfield Road; Greta (Mrs. Errol Crossland) of East Dalhousie; two sons, Arnold and Grover, both of East Dalhousie; a sister, Alma (Mrs. Fred Oickle), East Dalhousie.

MEISNER, Marjorie Elexis - 87, Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay, formerly of Maitland, Lunenburg Co., passed away September 15, 2004, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in East Clifford, she was a daughter of the late Maynard and Minnie (Jefferson) Selig and stepdaughter of Ruth (Jefferson) Selig. Marjorie will be remembered for her steadfast love as a mother and grandmother and by the many relatives and friends who where touched by her sense of humour and unlimited generosity. Her great love of music gave her the strength and courage to help her through the last years of failing health. Surviving are brothers, Arthur Selig, Dayspring; Harold (Nora) Selig, Wileville; Wilfred (Arleen) Selig, Oakhill; sister, Norma (Ron) Scott, New Germany; sons, Ronald (Helen), West Northfield; Frank (Daisy), Cherryfield; Walter (Linda), Blockhouse; daughter-in-law, Marie Meisner, West Northfield; daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Joudrey, Lower Northfield; Joan (Reid) Crouse, Dayspring; Helen (Gary) Eisnor, Maitland; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Meisner; sister, Helen Harlow; brothers, Stanley Selig, Keith Selig, St. Clair Selig; sister-in-law, Marjorie Selig; sons, Ralph Meisner, Byron Meisner; grandson, David Joudrey; granddaughter, Mary Corkum and infant grandson, Scott Meisner. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.

Izilda "Sally" Florence Hirtle 57, of Lapland, passed away January 5, 2002 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Kathleen (Veinot) Oickle. She devoted her life to her family, friends and community. She loved animals, music, quilting and especially horses. She also enjoyed sewing and making crafts. She taught Sunday School, helped with 4-H, and was a member of the Lapland and District Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. In her earlier years she worked at the fish plant, as a housekeeper and at several stores as a clerk. She is survived by her husband George; children, Terry (Kelly Frank), Lapland; Bonnie (David) Baker, Lapland; Tracy (Derrick Wagner), Bridgewater; grandsons, Brent and Bryce; brother, Leslie (Dawn) Oickle, Lower Northfield; sisters, Marlene Swinimer, Western Shore; Susan (Elliot) Oickle, Lower Northfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ferne Knickle. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday in the Lapland Baptist Church, Lapland, Rev. Lloyd Gillieo, Rev. Ida Whitehouse and Rev. Lawson Aulenback officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Lapland. A reception will follow in the Lapland and District Fire Hall. Immediate family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Lapland Baptist Church or the charity of your choice through the funeral home.

Shirley E. Russell WEYMOUTH Shirley E. (Veinotte) Russell, 87 years of age, entered Eternal Life at the Pope Nursing Home in Weymouth on Saturday May 30, 2009. Shirley was born at Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada on April 14, 1922. She was a long time Braintree resident before moving to Weymouth. She was raised and educated at Mahone Bay and in her earlier years had been a receptionist and telephone operator for an insurance company. She was an active member and Past Deaconess at the South Congregational Church in South Braintree. She had been a volunteer at the former Massachusetts Respiratory Hospital in Braintree Highlands. She had been an avid dancer and bowler.
Shirley was the beloved wife of the late William Paul Russell who died in 1985. She is survived by a sister Julia Wentzell of Centreville, Nova Scotia, Canada and by a brother David Lee Veinotte of Mahone Bay. She is the sister of the late Vincent Veinotte, Douglas Veinotte and Robert Veinotte. In addition to her brother and sister she is survived by five nieces and nephews; Jill Flinn of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Todd Veinotte of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Dawn Mosher of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Shawn Veinotte of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia and Darren Veinotte of Halifax, Nova Scotia. A Funeral Service will be held at the South Congregational Church, 1075 Washington Street., SOUTH BRAINTREE on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 1:00pm. Pastor Scott Killian will officiate. Burial will follow at the Blue Hill Cemetery Braintree. A reception will follow the services and burial at the Church. Relatives and Friends are invited. Arrangements are by the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Homes of Weymouth and Braintree.

Lena M. Smith, 72, of Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2002, following a very brief illness at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with her family by her side. Born in Wileville, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Vera (Oickle) Wile. Following 30 years of working at the Dawson Memorial Hospital and the South Shore Regional Hospital, she retired in 1993. She was an active member in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater. She particularly enjoyed her Sunday school children as a Sunday School teacher which she dearly loved. She was a weekly volunteer at the South Shore Regional Hospital, the Bridgewater Food Bank and an active member of the Bridgewater Kiwana’s. She is survived by her daughters, Judi Cameron and Glen White (partner), Halifax; Janice (Keith) Moores, Coldbrook; grandchildren, Tara Cameron, Halifax; Kelly and Jackson Moores, Coldbrook; brothers, Leslie Wile, Lower Branch; Buddy (Daniel) Wile, Wileville; sisters, Bette Northrup, Lunenburg; Linda (Ross) Publicover, Burlington, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband, Walton, son David; a sister, Bernice in infancy; sister, Edith Hoyt-Gillingham and a brother, Max. A memorial service will be held 11am Thursday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. James Slack Jr. and Rev. Willis Ott officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. A private internment will be in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. No flowers or visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Canadian Cancer Society through Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.

SIMPSON, Daisy Eveline - 85, Stanley Section, Lunenburg Co., passed away January 2, 2007, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Simpson's Corner, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Laura (Tufts) Veinot. Surviving are her children, Vonnie (Maxine), David (Hilda), Donna Daniels (Allister), Juanita, all of Stanley Section; Danny (Donna), Hemford; Sonny, Dale Deamond, Diane Veinot, all of Bridgewater; Susanna Conrad (Ira), Upper Branch; Anna (William) Simpson's Corner; Sheila Hubley (Ronald), Newcombville; Sandra, Alberta; brothers, Noble, Bridgewater; Leo, Greenwood; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude; son, Lemert; brothers, Chester and Berlin; grandson, Tracy, and granddaughter, Edith. Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Simpson's Corner United Church, Rev. Wayne Mitton officiating. Burial in Hemford Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted. Memorial donations may be made to Simpson's Corner United Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

ROBAR, Maxine Elizabeth - 61, Conquerall Bank, Lunenburg Co., died January 26, 1999, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Eva (Baker) Robar. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater. Surviving are her husband, Nelson; sons, Arleigh, Conquerall Bank; Marshall, Bridgewater; half-sister, Sylvia (Mrs. Lloyd Blenus), Blockhouse; five grandchildren. She was predeceased by stepmother, Kathleen Eichel. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. James Slack officiating. Burial in Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Family flowers only. RAFUSE, Viola Victoria - 90, Middleton died October 30, 1997, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Gates Mountain, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late Leason and Nettie (McNayr) Baker. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth, Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown; daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Perley Bent), Lawrencetown; Betty (Mrs. Charles Woodworth), Kentville; Donna (Mrs. William Underwood), Trout Lake; sister, Mrs. Edith Spencer, Middleton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grand-children. She was predeceased by sisters, Elma, Hazel, Evangeline; brothers, Wilfred, Fred, Roy, Leslie, Harold. No visitation by request. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. KEDDY, Harry Ambrose - 73, New Minas, Kings County, died December 31, 1993, at home. Born in North River, Kings County, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Margaret (Arnburg) Keddy. He was a former employee of Standard Paving. He is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Mrs. Blair Wallage), Enfield, Hants County; eight sisters, Frances, Leona (Mrs. James Feener), both of New Minas; Violet (Mrs. Alvin Silver), Rockland, Kings County; Hattie (Mrs. Claude Spencer), Windsor; Rita (Mrs. Melbourne Llewellyn), Cambridge; Mary (Mrs. Clifford Pemberton), Kentville; Margaret (Mrs. Stanley Bezanson), Forest Home, Kings County; Mrs. Alice Urquart, Ontario; four brothers, Melbourne, Berwick; Frank, Aldershot; James, Forest Home; Cecil, Port Williams; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Frances Eva Keating; brother, Robert. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. April 6 in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Margaret (Arenburg) Keddy. She had been employed with Canada Foods, Kentville and the Michelin Tire Plant, Waterville, Kings County, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Aldersville, Lunenburg Co. and the Aldersville Community Club. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Vernon Bezanson; daughters, Valerie Ann Bezanson, Kingston, Ont.; Judy Mae (Vince) Mahé, Dartmouth; sons, Paul Alan (Marisa), Centreville, Kings Co.; Bruce Stanley (Carrie), Aldershot, Kings Co.; Kevin Richard (Loretta), Forest Home; sisters, Violet Silver, Rockland, Kings Co.; Hattie Spencer, Windsor; Rita (Melbourne) Llewellyn, Cambridge, Kings Co.; Frances, New Minas; Alice Urquhart, Ontario; Leona, New Minas; Mary (Clifford) Pemberton, New Minas; brothers, James (Amy), Forest Home; Frank (Thelma), Aldershot; Cecil (Marion), Port Williams, Kings Co.; grandchildren, Amanda, Grace, Carson, Matthew, Candy, Zachary, Mariah, Jacob and Adam; stepgrandson, Derek; numerous nieces and nephews. WEAGLE, Gertrude Delilah —After a lengthy illness, Gertrude died at the age of 100, in Oceanview Manor on No­vember 7, 2010, just one day short of her 101st birthday. She was born on November 8, 1909, in Liscomb Mills, a daughter of Henry and Matilda Mailman. She was predeceased by two hus­bands, R. Maurice Scott and Arthur Sinclair Weagle; and son, Douglas Scott. She was also predeceased by brothers, William, Donald and Ray­mond; sisters, Annabelle and Emma. She is succeeded by daughters, Betty Anderson and Wendy Rutledge; and son, Morton Scott; sisters, Lillian Gray and Jean Kirkup; six grandchil­dren; nine great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She lived and worked all of her life in Nova Sco­tia. She will be resting in A. L. Matta­tall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., in Dartmouth. Visitation will be between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tues­day, November 9, with a memorial ser­vice at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the fu­neral home on Wednesday, November 10. Interment will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Sher­brooke. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers or other tributes, donations may be made in her name to The Sal­vation Army or to a charity of choice.
