AULENBACK, Paul Edward 'Aully' — 84, Clearland, Lunenburg Co. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Paul Aulenback on Friday, April 16, 2010. Born March 16, 1926, in Blockhouse, Paul was a son of the late Sarah (Demone) and Lancelot Aulenback. He is sur­vived by his wife, Theresia (Wilde); sons, Paul, Andre, and David; daugh­ter, Ramona Gen­cer; sisters, Pauline Hirtle, Mona Joudrey, Verna Knickle; eight grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by his brothers, Lester and Donald. After retiring with 27 years of military service (RCHA), he continued to work at the Junior Ranks Mess in CFB Lahr, Germany, as a bartender until 1993. Paul returned to Clearland in 1997. Paul was an avid hockey player and at 83 he still did not hang up his skates. He loved going to card parties and dances. He liked to play table tennis, go walking and swimming. In his younger years he was a dedicated boxer. Paul brought lots of laughter to any party. His ab­sence will be felt by many. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m., Sunday, April 18, in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, April 19, in St. John’s Luthe­ran Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Ste­phen Kristenson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements en­trusted to Mahone Funeral Home, Ma­hone Bay (902) 624-8241.

ROBAR, John Allister - 45, North River, Lunenburg County, died December 19, 1993, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at North River, he was a son of Lela Mae (Acker) Robar, North River and the late Stanley Whitford Robar. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River. He is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Gaul; three stepdaughters, Jannie Taylor, North River; Christina (Mrs. Danny Orak), Middleton; Mary Lou (Mrs. Ronald Harlow), Bridgetown; five sisters, Helena (Mrs. Carol Demone), Carolanne Eisner, both of North River; Betty (Mrs. Douglas Silver), Watford; Donna (Mrs. Gilford Kempton), Caledonia; Patricia Gabriel, Greenwood; three brothers, Merlin, Carson, Bruce, all of North River; three step-grandchildren. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert Robb officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements under the direction of Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany.

Garfield Theodore Baker - 80, of Newcombville, Lunenburg County, passed away November 16, 2001, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Baker Settlement, he was a son of the late Malcolm and Ida (Veinot) Baker. He is survived by his wife Florence (Power); daughter Diane (Greg) Pottie; grandson Michael; granddaughter Maureen, all of Bedford; sister Marion Getson, Springfield He was predeceased by sisters, Arlene Nowe, Shirley Keddy, Lillian (Jippie) Lohnes; brothers, Herbert and Charles. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday in All Saints Lutheran Church, Newcombville, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial will follow in the Newcombville Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice through the funeral home.

DEMONE, Helena Elnora - 63, North River, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2005, in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where she has been residing for the past three years. Born in North River, she was a daughter of Lela (Acker) Robar, North River, and the late Stanley Robar. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River, and was the president of the Resident's Council of Rosedale Home. Surviving are her husband, Carol Leslie Demone; daughter, Michelle (Dale) Vincent, North River; sons, Wayne (Wanda), Conquerall Mills; Gary (Donna), North River; brothers, Carson (Rose) Robar, Merlin (Elizabeth), Bruce (Sandra), all of North River; sisters, Betty Silver, Watford; Carolann Eisnor, North River; Patricia Robar, Greenwood; Donna (Gilford) Kempton, Harmony; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John Robar. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Home, 4895 Route 10, New Germany. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North River, Rev. Larry Ehrhardt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donations may be made to Rosedale Home for Special Care Resident's Council or a charity of choice.

MARSHALL, Russell Gladstone C.D. — 79, Bridgetown. We the family of Russell Marshall are deeply sadden to announce his passing January 13, 2011, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Beaconsfield, he was a son of the late Earle and Hilda (Arsenault) Marshall. He leaves to mourn his wife, Mary Lou (Todd), of 60 years; son, Blake (Karen), Calgary; granddaughter, Denean (Dan); great­ grandson, Marshall; sister, Irene (Au­brey) Patriquin; brothers, Wayne (Carol); Dwight (Judy); many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Brian; brother, Roland; and sister, Phyllis. He joined the Forces in 1932 and had many postings: Camp Debert, Oromocto, then to Shilo and from there to Fort Lewis, Wash. for ad­vanced training before going to Ko­rea. He was then later posted to Kin­gston, Ont. where he retired in 1976. Af­ter a short time he began working for the Annapolis County School Board as a bus driver for 15 years. He was a great lover of birds, and also loved to take his granddaughter fishing and later in life she blessed him with a grandson named Marshall. There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care and di­rection of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held Saturday 2 p.m. from Kaulbach Fam­ily Funeral Home, Bridgetown with Rev. Mark Reece officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Following the service a reception will be held at the Bridgetown Branch of the Royal Can­adian Legion. Donations in Russell’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to West Dalhousie Baptist Cemete­ry.

DANIELS, Charles Everett - 92, Middleton, died October 18, 1994, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Spa Springs, he was a son of the late Charles and Cora (Doane) Daniels. He was a retired general contractor. He is survived by his wife, the former Elsie Rafuse; daughter, Mrs. Evangeline Turner, St. Andrews, N.B.; two sons, Charles, St. Stephen, N.B.; Cyril, New Minas; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Wayne. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Middleton United Baptist Church, Rev. Norman Hovland officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton United Baptist Church or any charity.

Clark Oickle died suddenly at Baker Settlement, August 15, 1979, aged 57 years. Born in Maplewood, he was the son of the late Garfield and Hazel (Wentzell) Oickle. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Bolivar, Baker Settlement; and one brother, Rex Oickle, Pinehurst; also five nephews. The body rested at Wamback's Memorial Chapel where funeral was held on Sunday, August 19 at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. Gustafson. Burial was in Branch LaHave Cemetery. Pallbearers were his four nephews, Boyd, Greg, Brad, and Larry Oickle and two cousins, Medford and Lloyd Jodrey.

SILVER (Robar), Donna Marie — Of Fauxburg, formerly of Middle New Cornwall, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 28, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, David; children, Matthew and Amanda, multiple grandchildren, and many family members. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, April 1, in Northwest Baptist Church, Northwest. Flowers from the family only. A reception will be held in the church following the service. Memorial donations may be made to Northwest Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay (902) 624-8241.

DOREY, Edna Marie - 63, Maplewood, Lunenburg Co., died November 30, 1995, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at North River, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of Elsie Elizabeth (Robar) Daniels, Lake Centre and the late Clifford Gordon Daniels. She had been a foster parent for over 27 years with care to 53 children, some still residing in her home. She was a member of Parkdale-Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Willis (Billy); daughters, Janet (Mrs. Gregory Corkum), Union Square; Twila (Mrs. Martin Conrad), Salmon Arm, B.C.; Lorna (Mrs. Michael Eisan), Maplewood; son, John P. Robar, North River; sister, Phyllis (Mrs. Arnold Meisner), Lake Centre; brothers, Merle, Pleasantville; Lester, North River; 11 grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Ivan, Marshall. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in Parkdale-Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist Church, Rev. Karl Uhrstrom officiating, assisted by Rev. Stephen Hiltz. Burial in Parkdale-Maplewood Cemetery. Donations to Family and Children Services of Lunenburg County or any charity.

ZINCK, Mary Ellen A. - Age 57, Upper Northfield, passed away July 13, 2008, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a brief and dignified battle with cancer. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Debney and Shirley (Mossman) Oickle. Mary Ellen is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne; son, Anthony (Joann) Zinck; Northfield; daughter, Tabatha Zinck (Sheldon MacKay), New Germany; sister, Brenda (James) Fancy, Northfield; nephews, Shane, Nicholas, Patrick, Adam, Colin; niece, Amy. She was predeceased by sister, Marilyn Woodworth. Cremation has taken place. A private family committal will take place at a later date. Donations in Mary Ellen's name may be made to the S.H.A.I.D. Tree Animal Shelter, Bridgewater, or Roseanne Himmelman Cancer Trust Fund, Bridgewater.

James Rufus Feindel
The death of Rufus Feindel occurred at the D. M. Hospital, Friday evening, January 5, where he had been admitted the day before.
In failing health for some time, neighbours had not realized the seriousness of his condition and his death was quite unexpected.
Born at Union Square, July 17, 1883, he was a son of the late Ahiah and Ellen (Whynott) Feindel and the greater part of his life was spent in the community where he was born.
Surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs. John Hussey of Medford, Mass.; and Mrs. Mary Bent of Beaconsfield, Annapolis County.
His wife, the former Nellie Nauss, predeceased him some years ago.
Funeral service was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. W.R. Martell officiating. Hymns sung were "Lord God, the Holy Ghost, " "There is a Green Hill Far Away, " and "Rock of Ages."
Pall bearers were Lawrence Silver, Kenneth Seamone, Jas. Silver, and Everett Whynott. Interment was in Middle Cornwall Cemetery, beside his wife.
