Mr. Angus Joseph LeBlanc
May 20, 1926 - August 31, 2007
Angus Joseph LeBlanc age 81 of Amherst passed away on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan N.S., with his loving family by his side.
Born in Barachois N.B., he was a son of the late Alphie and Zoe (Lirette) LeBlanc.
Angus retired from trucking after 26 years of service. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 2916 since 1977 and a member of Sargent Mess Darts League. Angus enjoyed bowling with the Knights of Columbus League and Mens Town League, playing bingo, crib and darts. Angus also worked for the Knights of Columbus Bingo for number of years.
He is survived by his loving wife the former Melvina Lorette; daughter, Brenda (Bruce) Burke of Amherst; son, Vernon LeBlanc of Moncton, N.B; sister, Annie (Edmond) Landry of Cape Pele, N.B; brothers, Clarence LeBlanc, Ovila (Eva) LeBlanc both of Cape Pele, N.B., and Albert (Florence) LeBlanc of Moncton, N.B; grandchildren, Jason and Adam Burke; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters Alice Doiron and Mary Ouellette.
His remains are resting in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Sunday, September 2, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.

SHANNON, Malcolm Parry - 79, LRCP, LRCS (Edin) DMRD, FRCPS (C), died August 28, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. The son of Blodwen (Parry) and Harry Shannon, he was born in Llanbradach, Wales. After service in the Royal Air Force, he became a medical consultant in radiology to the Royal Canadian Air Force serving in Germany and France. He emigrated to Canada with his family in 1959 and practiced radiology at the Halifax Infirmary and the Dartmouth General Hospital. He was an associate professor at Dalhousie Medical School. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Paul (Anne) and Robert (Sheila); daughter, Claire; grandchildren, Megan, George, Emma and Laura; brother, Graham, Wales; sisters, Joan and Llinos, England. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A family service has taken place. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, The Salvation Army or to any charity.

COLLENS, Adan Jozef - Adan was named and blessed by Reverend Elaine Walcott in a private ceremony on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, in the IWK Health Centre. Adan is survived by his parents, Shaun and Lori Anne (Bartkiw); brother, Aleksander; paternal grandparents, Jeff and Gail Collens, Cole Harbour; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Judy Bartkiw, Rossburn, Man.; paternal great-grandparents, Don and Betty Collens, Cole Harbour; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where a private funeral service has been held, officiated by Rev. Elaine Walcott. Adan was laid to rest in the Garden of Angels at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Mrs. Helen May "Honey" (Lorimer) Bonang

BONANG (Lorimer), Helen May "Honey" - 92, Halifax, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2007, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Springhill on September 24, 1914, she was a daughter of the late James "Papa" and Alice (Oakley) Lorimer and granddaughter of Alexander and Mary "Granny" (Brown) Lorimer. Her sweet and gentle nature was a gift to all, as sweet as her nickname, "Honey". She lived a huge life and will be missed and loved forever. Surviving are her beloved grandson, Brad Houghton and spouse Melissa Elwood, and her cousin, Anita Cormier. She was predeceased by her daughter, Beverley (Bonang) Aucoin; husband, Cyril Bonang; sisters, Agnes (Lorimer) Levesque and Evelyn Lorimer. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where a memorial service will be held Monday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. James Haughn officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception centre. SMELTZER (Gray), Jean Margaret - 70, 58 Dundas St., Dartmouth. With heavy hearts, we share the sad news of Jean's passing on September 6, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit 4 West in Dartmouth General Hospital. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. She was a daughter of the late William and Hazel Gray (Dartmouth). She is survived by her children, Wayne (Darlene), Carolyn (David Bailey), Arthur (Annette Holland), Frank (Darlene Murphy), Timmie; special son, Allan Chase; special daughter, Elise Sawlor; grandchildren, Tammy, Lisa, Jason, Jimmy, Pam, April, Erika, Arthur, Alishia, Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Olivia, Nicholas, Kennard, Christopher; brother, William Gray; sisters, Dora Gray and Edith Hiltz. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 37 years, Albert Frederick; brother, Sonny Gray; sisters, Doris Jordan and Sandra Maddox. Jean enjoyed baking, bingo, knitting, and a good game of cards, but her joy in life was her family. She will be lovingly missed for her peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, September 10, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. Interment in Mount Herman Cemetery with reception to follow at 58 Dundas St., Dartmouth. GEIZER, Mary Kathleen "Marie" - 87, passed peacefully in Glades Nursing Home, Halifax, early Monday, September 3, 2007. Formerly of Bedford, she was a daughter of the late Kathleen Giles and Thomas Keating. She was predeceased by husband, Roy Francis Geizer, in 1994; brother, Stanley Keating; sister, Leitha Doyle. She is survived by sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Donnelly, Halifax; sister-in-law, Pat Keating, Bedford; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place from 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bide-A-While Animal Shelter.
