Mr. Jerzy Wysocki

WYSOCKI, Jerzy - Halifax, passed away September 8, 2007, at home. Born in Poland, he was a son of Anastasia and Michael Wysocki. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Kerry); daughter, Janina; sons, Marek and Antoni, and five grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, in Canadian Martyrs Church, Father James Mallon officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
Mr. W. Keith Donkin
February 29, 1928 - September 12, 2007
W. Keith Donkin age 79, of Truemanville, Cumberland Co. passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S.
Born in Fenwick, he was a son of the late Henry and Carrie (Dickinson) Donkin.
Keith was well known in Amherst and surrounding area as the founder and owner/operator of W.K. Donkin Tire Ltd.
After his retirement, his interests included woodworking, refinishing antiques, gardening and the gift of gab.
Keith is survived by his son Eric (Debbie) of Fort Lawrence and his daughter Darlene Donkin (Walter Osmond) of Hillsborough, NB, granddaughter Hayley Grady of Fredericton, grandsons Gregory Gaudet of Moncton and Jamie Gaudet of Halifax, brothers Ralph (Helen) of Fenwick, Paul (Bernice) of Sarnia, ON, sisters Mary Dodsworth of Burlington, ON and Mildred McKim of Truro and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Audrey Allen and two brothers Gordon and Sherman.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Steven Longmoore officiating.
Interment will take place in the Truemanville Cemetery.

Ms. Catherine Louise Turner
October 28, 1922 - September 12, 2007
Catherine Turner, 84, of the Northside Guest Home, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Florence (MacNeil) MacNeil.
Catherine was a member of the parish of St. Leonard, St. Joseph Church, New Victoria.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Turner, Sarasota, Fla.; one son, Jeffrey Turner, Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Marguerite Lever, New Waterford, Helen (David) Jones, Bras d’Or.
Catherine was predeceased by four brothers, John ‘Butch’, Francis, Malcolm and James, brother-in-law, Cornelius Lever.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Monday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. in the parish of St. Leonard, St. Joseph’s Church, New Victoria, with burial in the parish cemetery. A luncheon will follow in St. Joseph’s Church Hall.

Ms. Kim Phonchareon
February 8, 1917 - September 12, 2007
PHONCHAREON, Kim, 90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2007, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in China and later moving to Laos, she devoted her life to providing for her family. In 1980, she moved to Canada and settled in Nova Scotia with her son and family. For the last 10 years, she had resided at the Maplestone Nursing Home in Fairview. Kim was lovingly cared for by her son, Bounmy Phonchareon, and daughter, Eng Diao Soune Tety. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, September 15, 2-4 p.m.; funeral service will be Sunday, September 16, at 2 p.m., all in Atlantic Funeral Home 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, with reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax. Donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association.
Mr. Douglas Harrison Dillman
February 5, 1920 - September 11, 2007
DILLMAN, Douglas Harrison, 87, Porters Lake, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Saskatchewan, he was a son of the late Earl and Ellen (Bell) Dillman of Middle Musquodoboit. Doug was an RCN veteran of the Second World War. Following the war, he went to work at Dundas Garage Ltd. He then returned to military life until his retirement. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Somme Branch. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and card player all of his life. As well, Doug loved to tinker away on machinery well into his senior years. He had a unique sense of humour, was famous for his fish chowder, and loved being a Maritimer. He is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Campbell), Vancouver; Susan Clark, Halifax; brother, Charles (Greta), Porters Lake; grandchildren, Christopher, Andrea, Erin, Kerri, Jenna; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Olivia; numerous nieces and nephews; estranged wife, Elsie (Osborne). He was predeceased by sisters, Lillis, Ione; and brothers, Ervin, Murray; and his first wife, Muriel (Yorke). A Legion service and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. A reception will immediately follow. Private family interment at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in Doug's memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or a charity of your choice.
Doug will be sadly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
Mr. Earl Parker Farnell
June 30, 1934 - September 13, 2007
FARNELL, Earl Parker, 73, Mount Uniacke, passed away peacefully with his wife, Violet, and daughter, Linda, by his side, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, on Thursday, September 13, 2007. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Henrich and Ester (Saulnier) Farnell. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Violet Brown; son, Douglas, Mount Uniacke; daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Borden, Rawdon; Mary-anne (Danny) Legere, Burlington; grandchildren, Tracy, Jennifer, Carrie, Scott, John; great-grandchildren, twins, Logan and Bailey, Janaya, Julieanna; sisters, Rita (Ralph) Ward, Sackville; Dorothy (Wayne) Tooke, Rawdon; Edna (Cecil), Alberta; Pearl Sarson, Stellarton, and brother, Willard (Martha), Alberta. He was predeceased by brother, Ozzy, and sister, Marion. He was a veteran of the Sackville Fire Department and a 45 year member of the United Association Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada. He was also a much loved, kind man, who would do anything for anybody. He was adventurous and loved the outdoors. His favourite thing to do was spend time with his family and grandchildren, laughing and telling stories of when he was younger. He loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humour. He will be missed by all and always in our hearts, "we love you". Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, with funeral service Monday at 1 p.m., both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception lounge. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care and VON.
