Mrs. Mary Agnes Fisher
August 8, 1941 - September 17, 2007

FISHER, Mary Agnes, 66, passed away on September 17, 2007, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with her husband Stephen of 49 years, by her side, along with family members. Mary was born in Halifax on August 8, 1941. She was a daughter of the late Florence (Trider) and Anthony Hannam. Mary loved to watch all her daughters and grandchildren play baseball, gymnastics, hockey, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and Tae Kwon Do. Mary will be sadly missed by her loving husband and devoted daughters, Florence (Jerry Fraser) MacLellan, Linda Brimble, Roxann (Paul) LaPierre, Sheila (Ivan) Mason, all of Lawrencetown, and Tammy Fisher of Dartmouth. There will always be a special place in Nanny's heart for all her grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Sean, Stephen, Ashley, Shannon, Dannielle and Michael. Mary is survived by her brothers, Jerry Hannam, Prince Edward Island; Peter Hannam, Halifax; Tony Hannam, Halifax; Donald Hannam, Dartmouth; sisters, Lillian Hill, Eastern Passage; Gloria Hannam, Ontario. Mary was predeceased by her granddaughter, Tierni Lynn Johnston; brothers, Paul Hannam, and Jimmy Hannam. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, in Atlantic Funeral Home, Dartmouth, Rev. Marilyn Newport officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.

Mr. Francis "Buller" Comer
July 12, 1931 - September 16, 2007

Today we lost our hero. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and best friend. We, the family, regret to announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, Francis D. “Buller” Comer age 76 of Bastable Street, Donkin. He passed away at this residence on Sunday, September 16, 2007.
Born in Donkin he was the son of the late John and Ellen (Carter) Comer. He was employed with Devco for 37 years working at Caledonia, No. 26 Colliery and Phalen Mines, retiring in 1987. He was most happy spending time with his family and outdoors.
He will always be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor and incredible, unconditional love he had for his children. Thank you Dad, we love you.
He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, Gary (Della), Daryl (Serena), Johnny (Jean), Greg (Carol), Charles and Ronnie, daughters, Donna (Tony) Pearson, Marguerite, Marilyn McMullin (Junior), 17 cherished grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brothers, Gordon, Donkin, Bernie, Ontario, special nieces, Frances “Frankie” Savoie, Ontario and Rose Hallett, Glace Bay. Also surviving are many other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Teresa (Moore) in 2006, brother, Eddie and sisters, Dorothy and Marguerite.
In honoring Buller’s wishes, cremation will take place. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. on Thursday at St. Gregory’s Church, Donkin. Rev. Clifford Bisson will be officiating. Reception will follow on Donkin Legion. Family interment will be in the parish cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made in Buller’s memory to St. Gregory’s Cemetery Fund, Donkin.

Mrs. Phyllis Keeling
April 3, 1927 - September 17, 2007

Keeling, Phyllis (nee Dodge) of Ancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday September 17th, 2007 at the Penetanguishene General Hospital in her 81st year. Predeceased by husband Cameron and parents Dr. Gordon and Dora Dodge. Dear mother of Judith (Gary) Hobart of Glendale Arizona and Catherine (Brian) Dent of Oro-Medonte Township. Sister of Arthur (Mary) Dodge of Carleton Place. Loving grandmother of Amanda (Jason) Anaka of Cambridge, Daryl Hobart and Emily Hobart. Active member of Marshall Memorial United Church. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice.

Mr. Wendell Morrell "Del" Langille
January 26, 1943 - September 14, 2007

LANGILLE, Wendell Morrell "Del", 64, Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2007, with his loving wife, Paulette, at his side. Born in Gulf Shore, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Otis and Lillian Langille (Upper New Cornwall). "Del", as he preferred to be called, worked in the construction industry as a concrete finisher for many years. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by those who loved his grand sense of humour. Wendell is survived by his wife, Paulette Cable; sons, Robert, Halifax; Derrick (Norma), Dartmouth; brothers, Dean (Lucella), Dartmouth; Reid (Beverley), Middle Cornwall, Malcolm (Brenda), Upper New Cornwall; four grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Special thanks to the devoted and caring staff of the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre for all of their help and support.

Mr. John Albert William Trussler
July 14, 1931 - September 17, 2007

TRUSSLER, John Albert William - East Lawrencetown, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 17, 2007, surrounded by loving family and friends in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Surrey, England, July 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Jack and Clara (Punter) Trussler. John is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; sisters, Joan (Danny), North Sydney; Sheila (Mick), England; mother-in-law, Jennie MacKinnon, Upper Leitches Creek; several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his Bearded Collie and constant companion, Zo‘. In recognition of John's love of birds and animals, donations to Hope For Wildlife Society, 5909 Highway 207, Head of Chezzetcook, NS B0J 1N0, or any charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, with Rev. James Haughn officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home.

Mrs. Marlene Marie Pace
February 21, 1955 - September 18, 2007

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Marie Pace age 52 of Steele’s Hill, Glace Bay. Marlene passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elva (Chant) MacNeil. Marlene received her C N A certification. In her earlier years, she was employed at the VG Hospital in Halifax. Marlene was also employed with the Cove Guest Home for a few years and most recently with Highland Fisheries.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Gary, son, Steven – at home, brothers, Kevin MacNeil, Mike MacNeil – both of Glace Bay.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Bernice, Janet, mother & father-in-law, John & Emsie Pace.
Visitation for Marlene Pace will be held Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in Marlene’s memory may be made to Palliative Care.

Mr. William Peter "Bill" Layden
November 17, 1934 - September 19, 2007

LAYDEN, William Peter "Bill" - 72, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 19, 2007, in Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born November 17, 1934, in Stratford, Ont., he was the son of the late Andrew and Jean (Stewart) Layden, and stepson of the late Andy Hlatki. Bill served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 37 and a half years and was a very proud submariner. He was a member of the Atlantic Chief's and PO's Association, Submarine Old Comrades Association and Masonic Lodge, Kingston Branch. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gwendolyn Claire "Gwen" (Murphy); children, Brian, Bill (Elaine), Barb (Willie), Peter (Kim), Brenda (Bill), Bruce (Alma), Tom (Sherry); grandchildren, Kenny, Andrew, Brenda, Nicole, Kelsie, Connor, Jordan, Nick, Darryl, Matt; great-grandchildren, David, Hope, Alley, James, Willie; brother, Michael Hlatki. He was predeceased by grandson, William; sister, Barbara Jean VanTuyckom. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where Bill's family will receive friends from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday and where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Bill's memory to Atlantic Chief's & PO's Association or Submarine Old Comrades Association (S.O.C.A.) are welcomed.
