Mr. Ernest (Nin) Edgar Perry
September 7, 1921 - October 24, 2007
Ernest (Nin) Edgar Perry age 86, of Amherst passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. with his family by his side.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Patrick and Eva (Fraser) Perry.
Nin worked at Robb Engineering in Amherst for all his life, retiring as foreman. He loved working in his yard and was a sports enthusiast and had a passion for hockey. Nin also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing, baseball and fixing small engines. He was a very generous man who was there to give a helping hand whenever anybody needed it. Nin had a soft spot for animals and loved his dogs and cats and his budgie bird.
He is survived by Marjorie of Amherst, daughters Jane (Danny) Perry and Carol (Dave) Hebb both of Amherst, Muriel (Vincent) Down and Joan (John) Bird both of Ontario and one son Stephen of Amherst, grandchildren Josh Perry, Stephen Amos, Betty Amon, Freddie St. Peter, Vicky (Mark) Dakus, Vincent (Carol) House, Anthony House, Lance (Bridgette) House, Kevin, Keith, Stephen Jr. and Jeff Perry, great grandchildren Stephanie Vernon, Riley St. Peter, Greg, Katie and Megan Dakus, sisters Patsy (Bill) McManaman of Amherst and Joyce (Raymond) Babineau of Moncton, brothers Jack (Olive), Lloyd, Hubert (Phyllis) and Garnet all of Amherst, George (Verna) of Moncton and manyn nieces and nephews.
Nin is predeceased by his wife the former Florence Martin, brothers Norbert, Ed, Bob and Fred, grandchildren Danny Ernest Perry, Ricky Dennis Ripley and Stephen Patrick Perry.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish, Amherst on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Charles - Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Arrangements entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst.
Donations in Nin's memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Palliative Care Unit, L. A. Animal Shelter or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Mrs. Margaret Florence Pickrem (Grady)
November 23, 1920 - October 24, 2007
PICKREM (Grady), Margaret Florence - Age 86, Waverley. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Margaret on October 24, 2007, in St. Vincent's Guest Home, Halifax. Born in Halifax on November 23, 1920, Margaret was the first child born to Charles and Grace (Hoeg) Grady. She was predeceased by sisters, Doris Edwards, Ruth Saulnier, Norma Cormier, Edith Grady, and brothers, Bill, Douglas, Donald and Kenneth (fiancée Gwen McConnell, Tatamagouche). Margaret was a devoted wife to Gerald, her husband of 47 years, with whom she is now reunited for eternity. She also joins her loving sons, Gerald Jr. and Kenneth. Margaret is survived by sons, Wayne (Viola), Waverley; Ralph (Maureen), Fairview; Donnie (Donna), Fall River; and daughter, Sheila, Waverley. Her family was her life, and she was especially proud of her 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Lots of great family times were experienced at "Nannie's house". Her house was always open for "the best macaroni and cheese in town". With a twinkle in her blue eyes, and a great big smile, she was everyone's "Nannie". Margaret is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, whom she loved so dearly, and countless nieces and nephews, with special mention to nieces, Jean Baxter and Deb Keith for their continuing support. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 27, at 11 a.m. in St. John's United Church, Fall River, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. A reception to follow in the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations in Margaret's name may be made to the Christmas Daddies Show in her memory, or to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the 4th floor at St. Vincent's. Your care and compassion towards our mother Margaret was so greatly appreciated.
Mrs. Cheryl Lynn Robichaud

ROBICHAUD, Cheryl Lynn - 40, Lawrencetown, passed away peacefully October 27, 2007, at home. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of Cyril G. and Betty (Taylor) Robichaud of Noel. Cheryl was a graduate of Sackville High School, where she made many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her parents, husband, Watson Stevens; siblings Blaine, Terrence, Cyril G. Robichaud Jr., Annette Marie Daye. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunt and uncles, cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by daughter, Alanna Lee Robichaud-Stevens. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, Tuesday, October 30 at 11 a.m. Rev Patricia Malin officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mrs. Margret Rosemaire Rafuse

RAFUSE, Margaret Rosemarie "Peggy" - 66, Halifax, passed away October 28, 2007, in the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre, QEII. Born in Purcells Cove, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Olive (Fraser) Bowers. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafts, knitting and flowers. Surviving are daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Priske, Chris Rafuse (Dave MacKeigan), all of Beaver Bank; sons, Tony and Kevin Rafuse, Halifax; brothers, Eric (Winnifred), Stewiacke; Robert, Berwick; Keith (Rosemary), Newfoundland; Gary (Cath), Halifax; Ross, Antigonish; sisters, Joyce (Doug) Rhodenizer, Sheila (Brian) Allen, all of Fall River; Sharon (Basil) Demmings, Lunenburg County. She was a special Nanny to grandchildren, Adam, Ashten, Cody, Tyler, Logan, Geremy and Devin. She is also survived by ex-daughter-in-law, Theresa Ryan. She was predeceased by husband, Garnet, and grandson, Anthony. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 31, from 2-4 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 1, at 10 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Purcell's Cove Road, Halifax. Burial will be in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Mr. Wilfred Norman Cox
November 13, 1941 - October 26, 2007
COX, W. Norman, 65, Porters Lake, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007, in the VG Site, QEII, with his family by his side. Born in Timmins, Ont., he was a son of the late Wilfred Cox and Stella (MacKenzie) Cox, Brookfield. Norman was a well-known Dartmouth businessman, as owner and operator of Norm's Irving. He was also partners with his son in Cox's Auto Clinic. Norm was a lifelong member of Chezzetcook Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially his moose hunting trips to Newfoundland, and good times at the hunting camp. His passion was his grandchildren, who he adored. He is survived by his estranged wife, Sharon (Annand) Cox; daughter, Susan (Danny) Bonn; son, Jeff (Heather Romo) Cox; siblings, Freeman (Karen Gale) Cox, Freda (Doug) McBain, Marjorie (Ross) Graham, Gary "Mac" (Debby) Cox, Willa Heron; grandchildren, Stacy Cox, Kacey Cox, Alexander Bonn, Danielle Bonn; nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens at a later date. Rev. Deborah Burlson officiating. Reception to follow. CLOWES, Robert Leo, 69, Porters Lake. It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father who passed away suddenly in Phoenix, Ariz., on Wednesday October 24, 2007. Born October 19, 1938, in Woodstock, N. B., Leo was the youngest of 10 children born to Henry and Nina Clowes. He will be forever missed and is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Beverley (Hepburn) Clowes; sons, Ronald (Stephanie), Porter's Lake; Darren (Kimberley), Cole Harbour; daughter, Liana (Shawn) Jones, Cole Harbour; grandchildren, Cory, Craig, Nick, Nathan, Katie, Andrew; brother, Lawrence, Woodstock, N.B.; special nieces, Cathy (Scott) Adams, Porter's Lake; Jeananne Hepburn, Halifax; great-nephew, Riley; great-niece, Emma Adams; many nieces and nephews throughout Canada. He was predeceased by a daughter in infancy, Lisa; his parents; brothers, Lester, Lloyd, Ronald, Eldon, Lionel, Merrill; sisters, Leona and Thelma. His career in the transportation industry began in Woodstock, N.B., at the young age of 14 where he began driving a tractor-trailer. His life on the road carried him throughout North America and to Toronto where he met his future bride Beverley who shared his life, his work and his children for 49 years. Throughout his career in transportation he made many lifelong friends and touched many more lives. His passion for helping others led to his deep-rooted involvement and commitment to the Masons and Shriners of the Philae Temple where he served many offices helping serve the needs of the Shriners' Children's Hospitals worldwide. His loyalty to the brotherhood also included honorary Past Master of the Masonic Order, memberships to Hibernia Lodge, Scottish Rite and The Royal Order of Jesters Court 155. Leo could always be counted on to participate fully with any event that arose without hesitation. His love for family and friends was widely known to those who knew him best and he was known to extend his hospitality generously and freely to one and all. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. There will be visitation on Tuesday, October 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a Masonic service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital Travel Fund, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or any charity of choice.
