Mr. Edward James Foley

FOLEY, Edward James, 78, Spryfield, passed away October 29, 2007, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Gregory and Violet (Kirby) Foley. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by sister, Eileen Foley. Memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch.
Mr. Albert John Lewis
April 26, 1924 - October 29, 2007
LEWIS, Albert John, 83, Lower Sackville. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on October 29, 2007, in the VG Site, QEII, surrounded by his devoted children. Albert was born on April 26, 1924, in Regina, Sask., and was a son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Garvin) Lewis. He grew up in the Pense district and at the early age of 16 joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a boy seaman, where he served with distinction for 23 years and retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class. Albert served his country during both the Second World War and the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated a Texaco Service Station on the Bedford Highway for several years before embarking on a career with Canada Post until his retirement with over 20 years of service. In his retirement years his greatest joy was spending time at his hunting camp along the St. Mary's River in Sherbrooke with his dear sons and son-in-law, and his faithful companion, Bucky. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, which was evident in the beautiful lawns and gardens at the family home. Albert is survived by his loving children, Robert (Dawn), Hamilton; Diane (Yorke), Lower Sackville; Linda (Gregg) Smeltzer, Middle Sackville; Roger (Mary), Middle Sackville; sister, Kathleen Gowsell, Grand Coulee, Sask.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Margaret (Gaigneur); son, Allan; sister, Marjorie; infant brother, Freddie; son-in-law, Harold "Skip" Yorke. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, 125 Sackville Dr. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Reception to follow in the funeral home family reception area. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA or a charity of one's choice.
Mr. Robert (Bob) William Everill
August 31, 1939 - October 28, 2007
Robert (Bob) William Everill age 68, of Amherst passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007 at home.
Born in Amherst he was a son of the late George and Carrie (Greeno) Everill.
In his younger years, Bob worked for Christie Trunk and Baggage in Amherst and later worked at Waldale and Mason Windows in Amherst, retiring in 1988.
He loved country music and watching John Wayne movies.
Bob will be sadly missed by his many friends and neighbours, he was a father figure to many of his children's friends.
He is survived by his wife the former Joyce Shannon, one daughter Tammy of Amherst, one son Paul (Ruby) of Amherst, two step daughters Darlene (Brian) McGlinchey of Moncton, N.B. and Kim Beal of Sackville, N.B., two step sons Peter (Linda) Beal of Saint John, N.B. and Dwayne (Carol) Beal of Brookdale, one sister Geraldine (Ross) Roach of British Columbia and one brother Ron (Lillian) of Amherst, seven grandchildren Petey, Jessica, Caitlin, Brittany and Jeremy Beal, Rebecca Landry and Robin Matthews as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Cremation will follow with interment at a later date.
Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice.
Mr. Wade Allen Shunamon
November 11, 1961 - October 27, 2007
SHUNAMON, Wade Allen, Halifax, lost his battle with diabetes at the age of 45, when he passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007, in Northwood Centre with his sister Tippi by his side. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late Jean (Richardson) and Arthur Shunamon. He is survived by sisters, Tippi, Halifax; Charlotte, Alberta; brother Rick, Edmonton, Alta. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 1, in Shirley Burnstein Hall, Northwood Centre, Halifax. Special thanks to all the staff at Northwood Manor who made Wade their family in the last year, also to Craig for always being there, and special thanks to Bud Wallace for all his care and compassion.

Murphy, Mary passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener, Ontario on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the age of 76.
Beloved wife of the late William Joseph Murphy (1980).
Loving mother of Joseph Murphy (Hilda) of P.E.I., Thomas Murphy of Sydney, John Murphy and June Davis of Kitchener and Gordon Murphy and Sandra Hughes of Guelph and the late Patricia Rose Murphy (2000). Grandmother to 13 and great-grandmother to 4.
Dear sister of Rose, Germanin (Lawrence), Angeline (Chip), Netsy, Catherine (Dave), Hanna, Rosela, Tommy (Vivian), Raymond (Theresa), Twan, Edmund and Annie (Harry).
Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Angeline McDonald, her sister Julia and grandson Derek.
Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the V.J. McGillivary Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2007, 10 am at St. Anne’s R.C. Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Reserve Mines.
