Mr. Reginald Wilfred Webber
June 30, 1930 - November 2, 2007
WEBBER, Reginald Wilfred "Reg" - 77, Dartmouth, beloved husband, father and teacher, passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Dartmouth General Hospital on November 2, 2007. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Walter and Minnie (Dunsworth) Webber. Reg was a graduate of St. Mary's University and the Nova Scotia Teachers College. He taught in Halifax and Dartmouth junior and senior high schools including Dartmouth High and Prince Andrew. He also taught Sunday school at St. James Anglican Church, Armdale. Reg was a long-time member of Christ Church, Dartmouth. He received his 50 year pin from the Woodlawn Masonic Lodge. He was past director of the Dartmouth Curling Club, member of the Dartmouth Volksmarch Hiking Club, Dartmouth Lawn Bowling Club, Pictou Golf Club and The Lakes of Montague Golf Club. Reg was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping with his family all across North America in trailers he built. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Lorna (Cole); son, Mark Reginald, Philadelphia, Pa.; daughters, Janice Mae, Halifax; Diane Lorna (Gordon) Hamilton, Dartmouth. He took great delight in his grandchildren, Graham and Grayson Hamilton, Erin Hoth, London, Ont.; brother, Charles (Geneva), Riverview, N.B.; sisters, Edna (Chester) Smith, Hammonds Plains; Doris Webber, Halifax; Lillian (Wallace) Roseveare, Halifax; Beverley (St. Claire) Selig, Bridgewater; brother-in-law, Harold Gillis, Ottawa, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Ernest), Shirley (Raymond); many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by daughter, Christine Webber-Hoth; brothers, Gerald, Donald, Victor, Spurgeon, Ernest, Raymond; sister, Pearl. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 4, from 2-4 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, at 1 p.m. in Christ Church, Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth, Rev. Bruce Ward and Rev. Mary Wilkie officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax. Donations in memory of Reg can be made to the Palliative Care Unit Dartmouth General Hospital or charity of choice.
His kind spirit and unfailing love will be with us the rest of our lives. He lived his life as a gift.
Mr. Patrick Ernest Anderson
March 17, 1931 - October 30, 2007
ANDERSON, Patrick Ernest, 76 - In loving memory of Patrick Ernest, a resident of Ocean View Manor, who passed away quietly in Dartmouth General Hospital on October 30, 2007, after complications from an infection. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Pottie); daughters, Brenda (Wade) Dooley and Debbie Bangay; son, Shawn (Tina); grandchildren, Steven and Nicholas, and brother, David Travis. He was predeceased by his mother, Marquerite; stepfather, Harold, and sister, Cheryl. Pat was employed with CN Rail for 46 years in Freight Sales until his retirement. He was a past member of the Citizen Band Club and Bluenose Campers, NCHA. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Memorial service will be held Friday, November 2, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Windmill Road, Dartmouth, Father Joseph Hattie officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Eleanor Ann MacKenzie-Noiles
October 31, 1947 - November 3, 2007
Eleanor Ann MacKenzie, Noiles age 60, of Amherst passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Mary (Campbell) MacKenzie of Amherst and the late Carl MacKenzie.
She is survived by her long time companion Dennis Allan Pring, two daughters Deannine Marie (Matthew) Graves of Orlando, Florida and Lee Ann (Stephen) McKinnon of St. Albert, Alberta, one son Wade Chadler (Karen) Noiles of Halifax, and their father Arnold Joseph Noiles of Pugwash, five grandchildren Sean Reginald, Brayden Alexander, Cole Stephen and Keaghan Josiah, one sister Patricia Valerie MacKenzie of Whitby, ON, one brother Francis of Amherst and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was predeceased by one sister Elaine Marie and one grandson Seth Isaiah Noiles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Charles site of Holy Family Parish, Amherst on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
Mr. Harold Garry Foran
October 6, 1946 - November 3, 2007
FORAN, Harold Garry, 61, Hammonds Plains, passed away November 3, 2007, in the VG Site, QEII. He was the son of Harold Foran, Hammonds Plains, and the late Lorraine (Boutilier) Foran. Garry was employed with D&D for many years. He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Besides his father, Garry is survived by sister, Diane (Maxwell) Stewart, Hammonds Plains; nieces, Theresa MacDonald, Shelley Gallie; nephew, Michael Stewart. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Louise McLean officiating. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
Mrs. Edna May Crossman
June 29, 1920 - November 4, 2007
With great sadness we announce the passing of Edna May Crossman, age 87, on Sunday, November 4, 2007 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (McDow) Salsman.
Edna worked for many years on the housekeeping staff of Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting and quilt making as a past time.
She was an adherent of Christ Church, Amherst.
Edna is survived by eight daughters Marilyn Hawkes, Brenda Melanson and Gloria (Delbert) Fraser all of Amherst, Eleanor (James) Perry of Truemanville, Heather (Peter) Maillet of Frederiction, NB, Doris (Thane) Walton of Thunder Bay, ON and Germaine (Norman) Botterill and Joyce Van De Walle both of British Columbia and one son William (Carol) of Amherst, brothers Blake (Lillian) Salsman of Somerset, NS, Robert (Jean) Salsman of Waterville, NS and Oliver (Phyllis) Salsman of Morrisburg, ON, sisters Doris (Leslie) Garnett of Margaretsville, NS and Mary Dolson of Johnstown, ON, sisters in law Laura Salsman of Cambridge, NS, Esther Salsman of Berwick and Sylvia (Roy) Rushton of Tidehead, NB, brother in law Stanley Avery of Ontario, 25 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by her neighbor and very dear friend Marguerite MacKenzie.
Edna is predeceased by her husband Medley, brothers Ralph, Garfield and Clifford Salsman and sisters Edith Johnstone and Phyllis Avery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Christ Church, Amherst with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating.
Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
