Annie "Allie" Alice DUNBAR

Annie Alice "Allie" Dunbar, age 86, of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on September 23rd, 1921, in Ardoise, Hants County, she was the only daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Brennan) Collier.
Allie was an adherant of the St. Louise Union Church, Ellershouse.
She is survived by a brother, Neil (Norma) Collier, Ardoise; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Steward Laeman Dunbar.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held, 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 8th, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10th, 2007, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Shelley Pick officiating. Interment will be at the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.

Edith "Edie" Cecilia COOPER
September 15, 1918 - November 7, 2007
Edith "Edie" Cecilia Cooper – age 89, formerly of Montague Mines, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007, in the Windsor Elms.
Edie was a kind and gentle soul who until her move to the Elms, lived her entire life in the Halifax Regional Municipality, dedicating all her energies to her family.
She was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ann (Morris) Gibson.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Ian Cosgrove) MacKinnon, Windsor; grandchildren, Stephen Giles, Montague Mines; Juanita (Rob) Hiscock, Windsor; Shawn (Dee) Giles, Victoria, B.C.; great-grandchildren, Grant Hiscock and Samantha Hiscock, both of Windsor; brother, Harold (Bernice) Gibson, Moncton, NB. Edie was a special aunt to several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bill; brother, Frank Gibson; sister, Mary "Tootie" Lewin.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, and there will be no visitation by her request.
In celebration of Edie’s life, funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 14th, 2007, in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, King Street, Windsor, with Rev. Father J. J. MacDonald officiating. Interment private.

Mr. Henry William MacDonald
February 19, 1924 - November 7, 2007
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Henry MacDonald, age 83, formally of 17 Steele’s Hill, Glace Bay on November 7, 2007. Henry passed away peacefully at Seaview Manor where he resided the past several years.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Flora MacDonald.
Henry was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Glace Bay. He was a long time employee with the Cape Breton Development Corp. working at # 26 colliery. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, socializing and playing cards.
Henry is survived by daughters, Rita (Russell), Dominion, Mary (Vince), Steele’s Hill, Lee Ann, Toronto and Sheri (Terry), Annapolis, sons, Joseph (Ann), Roy (Loretta) and Earl, all of Glace Bay. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Besides his mother, Henry was predeceased by his loving wife Eileen.
Visitation for Mr. MacDonald will be in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, Friday (today) November 9, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 10 am in St. Anthony’s Church with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations in Henry’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

MacDONALD, Pauline Chadsey - 81, Middle Sackville, passed away at home on November 7, 2007. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Harold MacDonald. She was employed for many years as a social worker. She loved to read and watch TV. She was a member of All Saints Anglican Church. She will be missed by her family. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division, or Palliative Care.
Mrs Shirley Frances Nash
November 7, 1933 - November 8, 2007
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Nash at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on November 8, 2007 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Sarah (Sadie) and Angus MacDougall.
Shirley had one major passion: the well-being of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They all brought much joy to her life. Shirley was active in politics most of her life, was an avid dart player and served as a member of several health related boards.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Philip; son Charles “Butch” (Linda) Kinslow and their children Kim and Kevin; son Herb (Donna) and their children Natalie and Charles; daughter-in-law Chris and her children Fabian and Kelly; daughter Phyllis (Wayne) Wolfe and their daughter Angela; son John (Julia) and their children Melissa and Stephen; daughter Joann (Berkley) Breen; daughter Charlene (Gary) Hunter and their children Kyle and John; son Philip (Sherry) and their son Philip; and daughter Theresa (David) Krewenki and their children Alisha, Heather and Ryan. Shirley is also survived by eight great grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, Joseph, Matthew, Shirley, Bryan, Stephanie and Gabrielle. Surviving also are brother Fabian (Agnes) MacDougall and sister Josephine “Dollie” (Jack) Phillips. In addition, Shirley is survived by extended family of Mary, Michael “Sonny”, Alexis and Frances.
Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son Fabian and extended family Kaye and John “Bunny”.
Visitation will take place at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church on Monday Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Society for the Treatment of Autism or a charity of one’s choice.

ROACH, Lorne Robert, 41, Bedford. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Lorne Robert Roach on November 4, 2007. Lorne was known for his outrageous wit and was proud of his work with concrete and strong work ethics. He was a son of Eva (Boutilier) Roach, Bedford, and the late Charles Roach. Besides his mother, he is survived by his sons, Mason and Dylan; daughter, Charlee; brothers, John, Chuck, Ricky, Gordon, and Jim; sister, Cindy. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Burial at a later date in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
