SLAUENWHITE, Alma Grace - 90, Shoreham Village Home for Special Care, Chester, formerly of the Belnan and Elmsdale areas, died February 21, 1993, in the home. Born in Lower Northfield, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Timothy and Charlotte (Conn) Oickle. She was a member of Elmsdale United Church and an honorary member of the Canadian Bible Society. She was an avid gardener and operated a greenhouse in Elmsdale for several years. She is survived by three daughters, Annie Lively, Enfield; Jean Howlett, Chester; Mary Cameron, Wellington Station; three sisters, Lorena Naugler, Lunenburg; Beatrice Mailman, Toronto; Bertha Zwicker, Windsor; brother, Harold Oickle, The Forties; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William; three sisters, Eveline, Muriel, Bernice; two brothers, Gordon, Clayton. The body is in Davis Funeral Home, Chester, visiting 7-9 p.m. today, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Robert Zinck officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Nine Mile River. OICKLE, Lloyd William - 71, Simpsons Corner, formerly of North River, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Monday, August 14, 2006, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lakeview, King Co., he was a son of the late John and Jenny (Barkhouse) Oickle. Surviving are his wife, Lois Maling, Springfield; daughter, Rose, Springfield; sons, William (Jennifer Baker), Clementsvale; David (Stephanie Smith), Simpsons Corner; sisters, Ruth Reid, Canaan; Mary (Francis) Keddy, Waterville; brothers, Albert, Ontario; James, East Dalhousie; grandson, Jonathan Oickle; stepgrandchildren, Cecilia Smith, Donald "D.J." Smith, Caleb Huntley; a nephew, several nieces. He was predeceased by sister, Alma Rose Oickle; brother, Maynard. No visitation at the funeral home by request. William Henry ARENBURG, 73, of Greenwich, died Friday in Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville. Born in North River Road, he was a son of the late George and Maria (VEINOTTE) ARENBURG. Surviving are his wife, the former Josephine WALSH; two sisters, Sarah, (Mrs. Henry BUTLER) and Mrs. Jennie DeLONG, both of Kentville; two brothers, Frank, Kentville; Harry, Berwick. He was predeceased by five sisters and four brothers. The body is at W.C. Hiltz Funeral Home, Kentville, where funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. Byron Fenwick officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Harry Cornelius ARENBURG, 71 of Berwick died Wednesday in Western King s Memorial Hospital, Berwick. Born in North River, Kings County, he was the son of the late George and Myria (VEINOTTE) ARENBURG.
He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn LOWE; a son, Paul, Berwick; five daughters, Mrs. Phyllis KALSEN, Ottawa; Alice (Mrs. Joseph DAIGLE), South Berwick; Mable (Mrs. Carroll LEWELLYN), Waterville; Shirley (Mrs.William COOK), Toronto; and Joyce (Mrs. Arthur REDDEN), Kentville; a brother, Frank, Kentville; two sisters, Sara (Mrs. HENRY BUTLER), and Mrs.Jennie DeLONG, both of Kentville; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Donald and several brothers and sisters. The body will be in the H.C.LINDSAY Funeral Home, Berwick after 7pm Thursday. Leonard Harold Zwicker, Well Known Wileville Businessman Dies, 59, of Wileville, Lunenburg County, passed away Tuesday May 21, 2002 at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Wileville, he was a son of Esther (Wile) (Zwicker) Wentzell of Baker Settlement and the late Harold Zwicker. Len began the plumbing trade at the age of 16 Years. He worked for approximately 10 years with the former Powers Bros. of Lunenburg. In 1973, he began his own business, known as Len’s Plumbing and Heating Ltd., working from his home site in Wileville. In 1986, he opened the Mr. Plumber Store at the same location. He worked both businesses until he could no longer work due to illness in the summer of 2001 at which time, his son in law, Donnie, took over operations. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane (Barry); daughters, Holly (Patrick) Sweeny; Stephanie (Donnie) Woodsworth, both of which were his pride and joy; his precious grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy Sweeny, all from Pinegrove; sisters, Lucy (Bruce) Bailey, Dayspring; Anne Llewellyn, Camperdown; brothers, Richard (Beverly), Upper LaHave; Frank (Ann), Baker Settlement; step father, Cyril Wentzell, Baker Settlement; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; sister in law, Ada Barry, Bramalea, Ont. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Born at North River, he was a son of the late Emery George and Laura Mable (Acker) Robar. He worked at logging with Kirk's Christmas Tree and also with Zwicker's Mill. SARTY, Minnie Murial - 90, North River, Lunenburg Co., passed away in Hillside Pines Nursing Home on November 8, 2004, where she had been residing. Born in Meisners Section, December 29, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Sanford Fenimore and Ada Lucinda (Feindel) Deal. She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Russell) Robar, Beatrice (Carl) DeLong, both of Bridgewater; Deborah (Merlyn) Lowe, Cherryfield, Annapolis Co.; sons, Beverly Gordon (Erna), North River; Willis Edward (Audrey), Bridgewater; and Otis Franklyn; daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Gary) Zinck, Bridgewater; sisters, Sadie Oickle, New Germany; Evelyn Deal, Nellie Robar, and sister-in-law, Beryl Deal, all of Meisners Section; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by beloved husband, James Frederick "Fred" in 1976; sons, John Frederick in 1965, Wayne Gary in 1984; sister, Viola Silver in 2001; brothers, Archie Clarence in 1989, Gordon Edward in 1988; and half-brother, Walter Clayton Feindel in 1968. VEINOT, Richard Owen - 85, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., died July 19, 1996, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Barss Corner, he was a son of the late Truman and Adina (Nina) (Zinck) Veinot. He worked for McKay's Mill as a labourer. He also drove a school bus in the New Germany area and was a woodsman. Surviving are his companion, Grace Barkhouse; sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. Donald Nauss), New Germany; Grace (Mrs. Gordon Hampton), Winnipeg; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Alice; brothers, Albert, Earl, Clarence, Joseph. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany, Rev. Wayne Mitton officiating. NEW GERMANY, April 2 - The funeral of Stephen Haines, who passed away at Herman's Island recently, was held from the United Baptist Church at Barss' Corner, was conducted by Rev. W. R. MacWalker. Mr. Haines was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Haines and was born at New Canada March 24, 1865, his passing away being on the day following his sixty-ninth birthday. Of this family surviving members are three brothers, Twining of Farmington, Mathew of New Canada, and Allan of Grainsville, New Brunswick; and one sister, Laura, wife of Caleb Arenburg, of Stanburne.
At the time of his first marriage to Miss Alice Langille, he took up his residence at Farmington where the family resided for 28 years. Of this union two sons survive: Stuart, New Germany, and Harold, Framington.
His second wife, before marriage, Mrs. Annie Etta Whittler, of Lynn, Mass., survives, also one son, Waldo, living at Herman's Island.

Born in Beach Meadows, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Laura (Martin) McNutt. She was a member of Milton Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She operated and managed the Milton Teen Centre from 1964-70. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; three daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Michael Gregorash), Oakville, Ont.; Sandra (Mrs. Eric Higgins), Bridgewater; Geraldine Whynacht, Hebbs Cross; three sons, Russell, Halifax; Wayne, Middlefield; Rickey, Pleasantfield; three sisters, Florence (Mrs. Ernest Coombs), Milton; Amy (Mrs. Alfred Titus), Caledonia; Maxine, Halifax; six brothers, Merrill, Milton; Mervin, Liverpool; Loran (Buzzy), Calgary, Alta.; Victor, Grand Prairie, Alta.; Hallett, Oshawa, Ont.; Walter, Caledonia; seven grandchildren. Mrs. Anna S. Keddy
New Ross, Nov 28 - After a long illness the death took place on Thursday morning of Mrs. Anna S. Keddy, at the age of 84. death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Alders, with whom she had lived for sometime. Deceased was twice married. She is survived by seven sons and daughters, Amos Veinot, Newport, Hants County; Nathan Veinot, Waterville; Owen Veniot, Port Williams; Leslie Veniot, Woodville; Alvin Veniot, Lake Ramsey; twins sons Brinton and Edgar Keddy, Port Williams and Mount Denson; Mrs. Charles Hiltz, Forties, and Mrs. Henry Alders, Alderville; also one brother, Jeremiah Legg, Lake Ramsey; 31 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at Christ Church, conducted by Rev. P.G. Corbin, with interment in the old church cemetery.

Born in Hillsburn, Annapolis Co., she was the daughter of the late Patrick John and Elizabeth Alma (Snow) O'Connell. She was a member of Centrelea Baptist Church. She loved the local country music shows, soap operas, and her pets. She is survived by her husband, Caleb; daughters, Sandra (David) Eisner, Beaconsfield; Susan Veinott, Lower Sackville; Patty (Todd) Taylor, Beaconsfield; sons, Bruce and Scott, both of Centrelea; grandchildren, Darren Eisner, Karen Weatherby, Zachery, Logan, and Jacob Taylor; great-grandchildren, Madison and Emma Weatherby. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in Centrelea Baptist Church, Rev. George Neily officiating. MOORE, Lewis Eugene - 60, Cowan's Bay, Ont., died December 28, 1993, in Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ont. Born in Barss Corner, Lunenburg County, he was a son of Clifford Moore, Falkland Ridge, Annapolis County and Evelyn (Mrs. Donald Nauss), New Germany. He is survived by his wife, the former Sheila Minor; two brothers, Quentin, Timberlea; Victor, New Germany; sister, Alice (Mrs. Gerald Rafuse), Parkdale. He was predeceased by a brother, Sherman. Service was held December 31 in Bobcaygeon Chapel of the Illman-Platter Funeral Home, Bobcaygeon, Ont.
Mrs. Gideon Langille
The death of Adelaide, widow of Gideon Langille, New Germany, occurred at the home of her son, Norman, on Jan. 9th, at the age of 76 years.
Although she had been in failing health for some time she had entertained the numbers of her family at dinner on Christmas Day, preparing the meal herself. She was taken sick the following day and was confined to her bed just two weeks before death occurred. Her husband predeceased her in 1917.
Beside the son, Norman, with whom she resided there remains two daughters, Edith, wife of Fred Fancy, of Union Square, and Rebecca, whose husband William Read is at present very seriously ill in their home near Springfield, Mass. There remain, also, six grand children and seven great grand children. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Nauss, of Middle Cornwall and of this family of seven surviving members are Joshua Nauss of New Germany and Ralph Nauss, of Detroit, Mich.
The funeral on Wednesday afternoon was conducted by Rev. G. W. Bullock of Bridgewater, and after Church here the body was laid to rest beside her husband in the cemetery at Middle Cornwall.
