Dudley Baker
1917 - 2008

Dudley Baker - of Sauble Beach, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, December 17th, 2008. Dudley Lewis Baker in his 92nd year. Loving father of Toni (Pauline) and her husband Allan Lang, of Sauble Beach. Devoted grandfather of Brynn Costa Sousa and her husband Carlos, of Brampton; Brandie Lang and her husband John Santos, of Hepworth; and Colin Lang, of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Great-grandfather of Mitchell, and Tyler; and great-great-grandfather of Logan. Predeceased by a great-grandson, Devon Lang; a sister, Doris Baker; and a brother, Burt Baker. In keeping with Dudley's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Family will gather with friends to commemorate his life on a date to be announced later. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.

Frank Solomon
1946 - 2009

Solomon Franklin "Frank" - Councillor and former Chief for over 32 years of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Neyaashiinigmiing Indian Reserve No. 27 (Cape Croker). Frank was the youngest elected Chief of Cape Croker at the age of 21 years; and served in the Militia in Kitchener as a Medic. Franklin Dalton James Solomon in his 63rd year passed away suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, January 9th, 2009. Loving and devoted husband to the former Jackie (Keeshig) Solomon for 41 years. Dear father of Jonathan Solomon and his wife Janna, of Cape Croker. Grandfather of Theron, Maverick, Malackee and Ireland. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Tanya Solomon; special grandson Darcy Solomon, and Thomas and Allen Solomon; his brothers and sisters, Celina and her husband Alpha Robichaud, of Cape Croker, Margaret Solomon, of Brampton, Mary and her husband Jamie Whiteye, of Moravian Town, Debbie Solomon, of Orillia, Wayne Solomon, of Cape Croker, and Joe Solomon and his wife Marie, of Owen Sound; brothers-in-law Edward Keeshig and Jerry Keeshig; sister-in-law Bonnie Keeshig; his aunts, Pearl (Edgar Long), Sandy Semple, Lana (Russell Becker), Mary Roote, Joanne Roote, Virginia Roote, and Mary Roote; and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Frank is predeceased by his sons Frank Jr. and Gene; daughter Eva Marie; brother Warren Solomon; and his parents Ainsley Solomon and Ella (nee Lavalley). The family will receive friends at the Cape Croker Community Centre, Cape Croker on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass to celebrate Frank's life will be conducted from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cape Croker on Tuesday January 13th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. In living memory of Frank a tree will be planted at the family home by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel.

Robert Cunningham
1949 - 2008

Robert Cunningham - as the result of an accident near his family home on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008. Robert Edwin Cunningham of Kincardine and Wiarton in his 60th year. Loving son of Thelma Cunningham of RR#1 Wiarton. Cherished brother of James Cunningham and his wife Dawn, of Fredericton, NB; Katharine and her husband Paul Reid, of Mississauga; and David Cunningham, of Wiarton. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Andrea Reid, Tyler Cunningham (Amanda), Meaghan Cunningham, and Ryan Cunningham; great-niece Cameron Cunningham; his special friend Beverley Sneyd; and his many, many friends in Kincardine. Predeceased by his father David. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Robert's life will be conducted from Trinity Anglican Church, Wiarton on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 at 11 o'clock, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Donations to Community Living Kincardine & District, the Alzheimer Society Grey-Bruce or the Kincardine Literacy Program would be greatly appreciated. Spence Morrison
1919 - 2008

Spencer Morrison - of Wiarton, suddenly at his residence on December 29th, 2008. Spencer Morrison in his 90th year. Loving husband of 50 years to the late former Catherine "Kay" Fleming. Treasured father of Jerry and his wife Barb, of Roswell, Georgia; Bill, of Coos Bay, Oregon; Bob and his wife Denise, of Calgary, Alberta; and Kelly and her husband Greg Galan, of Oliphant. Devoted grandfather of John, Daniel, Ann-Marie, Mark, Dwayne, Tami, Jeff, Cathy, Rachel, Arleigh, Kerry and Matthew;and 9 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by a son-in-law Richard Kochany, of Hanover; and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by a son, Barry; a daughter, Ann Morrison; a brother, Roger; and his parents, Frank and Elsie. In accordance with Spence's wishes there will be no visitation or service at this time. Cremation has taken place. Family will announce a gathering to celebrate Spence's life at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Gerald "Gerry" Bast - of Wiarton, and formerly of Grande Prairie, Alberta, peacefully with his brother Doug at his side at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on Monday December 29th, 2008. Gerald Dale Bast in his 55th year. Husband of the former Kate McGuire Brother of Doug Bast, of Wiarton, Diane Fretz and Donna Haig-Windling (husband Keith Windling), both of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents Delton and Winnifred. Gerry was an Amateur Radio Enthusiast and is now a Silent Key - ve6gdb. In accordance with Gerry's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted in the spring. Interment in Greenwood cemetery , Milverton. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Fred Myles
1945 - 2009

Myles, Frederick Gavin - of Sauble Beach, suddenly in Barrie on Saturday, January 31st, 2009. Frederick Gavin Myles in his 64th year. Loving father of Andrea and her husband Darryl Pinnell, of St. Thomas, and Brock and his wife Shannon, of Washington, DC. Cherished grandfather of Alex Pinnell, Regan Pinnell, and Carsen Myles. Twin brother of Jim Myles, of Sauble Beach. Sadly missed by Diane Thompson; his nieces and nephews, Baden, Shailah, and Tanielle; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Myles. Predeceased by his parents James and Mary. Fred was a true outdoorsman, with a love of fishing and hunting. In respect to Fred's wishes, cremation has taken place. 1940 - 2009

Nadjiwon, Betty Charlotte "Lord Jesus, I�m Coming Home" - of Cape Croker, peacefully at her home on Monday, January 26th, 2009 at the age of 69 years. Devoted wife of the late Clarence Noganosh. Loving mother of Brent Nadjiwon and Brian Nadjiwon, both of B.C., and David Newby, of Huntsville. Grandmother of Travis Nadjiwon, and Corey Campbell. Sister of Harold Nadjiwon and Robert Nadjiwon, both of Cape Croker, and Merceline Doran, of Hepworth. Special aunt to Caley, Cody and Mark. Sadly missed and much loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Vincent and Irene, and her brother Emerson. Family invite friends to visit with them at the Maadookii Seniors Centre, Cape Croker on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where a service to celebrate Betty's life will be conducted on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Ronald Johnston officiating. MacLeod, Daniel "Dan" - of Tobermory, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009. Daniel Roderick Alexander MacLeod in his 55th year. Son of the late Alexander MacLeod (1982) and the former Kathryn Sutherland (2008), of Tobermory. Dear brother of Ellen Clark (Dale), of Brantford, and Scott MacLeod, of Tobermory. Proud uncle of Jami (Steve), Chris (Vanessa), Alexander (April), Tyler, Nicholas, Austin, and great-uncle to Quintin. Sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by a sister Alison (1957), of Port Burwell. In accordance with Dan's wishes cremation has taken place. Family invite friends to gather with them for a "Farewell to Dan" at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 290, 7437 Highway #6 Tobermory on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 1-4 pm. Ward, Neil - of RR#2 Wiarton, suddenly at his home on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. Neil Wilbert Ward in his 59th year. Loving husband of Brenda (nee Lobban). Devoted father of Melissa and her husband Joe Solomon, of Guelph, and Sarah Ward and her partner Phil Smyth, of Burlington. Cherished grandpa of Evelyn and Hunter. Sadly missed by his brothers Ralph Ward, of Hamilton, and Grant Ward (Jean), of Port Dover; brother-in-law Dwayne Lobban (Diane), of Wiarton; sister-in-law Yvonne Pinch (Bryan), of Southampton; and his mother-in-law Mildred Lobban, of Owen Sound. Neil was proud to serve his community through his participation with the Royal Canadian Legion, Masonic Lodge and Wiarton and District Lions Club. Family invite friends to gather with them to celebrate Neil's life at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341, on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted from the chapel on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Brethren of Cedar Lodge #396, Wiarton will conduct a Masonic memorial service on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208, Wiarton will conduct a memorial service at 6:45 pm. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Jim Irving
1932 - 2009

Irving, James "Jim" - of Sauble Beach, peacefully with his family at his side at Maple View Long-Term Care Residence, Owen Sound on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. James Richard Irving at the age of 76 years. Loving husband and best friend of the former Ruby McMillan. Dear father of Rick, of Sauble Beach, and Deb and her husband Steve MacDonnell, of Francis Lake. Proud grandpa of Ernie MacDonnell. Beloved brother of Ron Irving and his wife Eleanor, of Owen Sound; brother-in-law of Ken McMillan and his wife Sharon, of Strathroy; special uncle of Gene, Shelly, Steve and Darcy. Jim is sadly missed by his faithful dog Brooker. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Bertha, a brother Philip, and his sister Norma. In respect of Jim's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will take place in May. Cremation has taken place. Phoenix, Phyllis - of Wiarton, peacefully at Gateway Haven, Wiarton on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. The former Phyllis Jean Schwieder at the age of 88 years. Loving and devoted wife of the late Gerald �Gerry� Phoenix (1974). Cherished mother of Brenda and her husband Wayne Wallace, of Walpole, New Hampshire; Margo and her husband Joe Sinardi, and Mark Phoenix, all of Burlington; and Robyn and her husband Ian Dean, of Tobermory. Adoring grandmother of Kristyn Wallace-Curven (Christopher Curven), Denise Sinardi, Carleah Phoenix-Goddard (Kyle Goddard), Julia Dean, and Justin Dean; and great-grandmother of Sydney Wallace-Curven. Sister of Betty Argue, of Grenfell, Saskatchewan, and Jackie Loeb, of Texas. Predeceased by her parents Phillip and Alexandra; brothers Frank Schwieder, Bob Schwieder, and Murray Schwieder; sister Margaret Buckley; and a grandchild, Holly Phoenix (1987). Phyllis had a love of flowers, picking wild strawberries and the people of the Bruce Peninsula. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends at Gateway Haven. Family invite friends to gather with them to share memories and food at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 in early May (date to be announced). Interment in Dunk�s Bay cemetery following the gathering.
