Gladys Goar (nee Yeo) of Southampton, residing at Elgin Lodge, Port Elgin, in her 87th year, Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Goar (May 2008). Dear mother of Patricia Hagedorn of Stratford and Doug and his wife Anne Goar of Saugeen Shores. Proud grandmother of Stephen, Jason, Jonathan, Jennifer and her husband Jason Alcock and Jeremy and his wife Karla, and great grandmother of Nathan, Brynn and Kaleb. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and her friends in the community. Gladys will be fondly remembered for her devotion to family and for working closely with her husband Ken in their many business ventures. Predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Hilda Yeo, by her brother, Milton and by her sister Marlene. Doran, Morice Seaman, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Sunday June 1, 2003. Morice Doran of Southampton in his 90th year. Husband of the late Madeline Doran (nee Bettridge). Morice is survived by his sons and their spouses, Wayne and Donna of Kitchener, Marvin and Linda of Richmond and Dale and Barb of Waterloo. He will be missed by his granddaughters, Heather and Robert Schumann, Lisa and Chris Stermann, Beth and Tyler Brown, Amy and Jeff Streit, Jessica, Jamie and by his grandson John, and by his great grandchildren, Jacob, Katrina and Emily. He is survived by his brother Hartley Doran of Southampton and by his sister-in-laws, Flora Doran of Southampton and Cecelia Bettridge of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Nettie Doran, by his 3 sisters, Eloise, Ruth and Dorothy, and by his brother, Ralph. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families. Morice was a resident of Southampton since 1926. He was a radar mechanic during WW2. After the war, with his brother Ralph, he owned and operated Doran Bros. Crest Hardware, Southampton and Doran's Boat Livery (Sauble Clipper) , Sauble Beach. He particulary enjoyed the many friends he made both in Southampton and during the many summers at Sauble Beach. He had many interests, including the United Church Choir for 60 years, amateur radio (VE3BDA), curling, billiards, and bridge. He enjoyed repairing 'vacuum tube' radios and televisions up until this past year. A Celebration of Morice Doran’s life will be held at the Southampton United Church on Saturday June 7, 2003 at 2pm. Reverend Ken Russ will officiate. A time of fellowship will follow in the Church Social Hall. Private Interment Southampton cemetery. Hougham Hubert William (Hugh), 12/21/1921 – 07/20/2003, passed away peacefully after a short illness, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton. Hugh will be remembered, by his adopted community of Southampton, for his love of the area and for his games of bridge with friends. He served with the RCAF/RAF in Great Britain from 1942-1945 and worked as a CGA with North American Life Assurance Co. for over 45 years. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward and Reginald, by his sister Gladys and by his first wife Madeleine (Billie). Hugh leaves behind his wife of 5 years, the former Helen Shave Thompson, his son Robert Hougham and his wife Esther, his daughter Phyllis Kurina, his grandson John David Kurina, his granddaughter Kathleen Czechowski and by his great grandchildren, Michael and Madeleine. Hugh will always be remembered by Helen’s family, Paul and Heather Thompson, Bob and Nancy Thompson, Paul and Nancy McGrath and Marg and George Norman, who all took him warmly, into their hearts.
