Cameron Charles Vernon Joseph, “Charlie” at the Saugeen First Nation, on Wednesday August 13, 2003. Charlie Cameron of the Saugeen First Nation in his 57th year. Son of the late Joseph and Ruby Cameron. Sadly missed by his buddy and cousin, Catherine Day (Kahgee) and her family of the Saugeen First Nation. Charlie will be fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends throughout the Saugeen community. Predeceased by his brothers Elmer and Clifford. Visitation from the James Mason Cultural Centre, Saugeen First Nation, on Saturday August 16, 2003 from 4-9pm and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Charlie was a Veteran of WW II, Royal Merchant Navy, and a member of the Southampton Legion Branch #155. Husband of the late Elizabeth Eileen (Betty) Withall. Dear father of Barbara and her husband Bill Reid of Grimsby, Patricia and her husband Peter Williams of Burlington, Sheila and her husband Doug Hills of Caledonia and Ken and his wife Wilma of Southampton. Also survived by his friend Joan Johnston of Port Elgin. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Noel was a proud member of both, the Port Elgin Masonic Lodge #429, A.F.&A.M. and the Chantry Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. Beloved husband of June O’Driscoll (nee Dawson) of Southampton. Dear father of Janet Abelson and her friend Steve of Waterloo and David O’Driscoll and his friend Nancy of Southampton. Also survived by his sisters, Rosaline O’Gorman and Marion Hickey, both of Dublin Ireland. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Adam, Jordan, Lindsay and Mark. Gino loved his fishing and hunting as well as pitching horseshoes. He enjoyed spending times with his family and with his friends at the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Elgin. Survived by her daughters, Anne Champagne and her partner Art Joyce of New Denver, B.C., and Sophie Champagne of Southampton; by her former husband and life-long friend Jean-Remi Champagne of Ottawa and our family there; by her sister Ann Elizabeth Carson of Toronto; by her niece Meg Salter and her husband John Grandy of Toronto, her nephew Michael Salter and his wife Susan Rich of Ottawa, her niece Hilary Salter and her husband Andy Taylor of Toronto; and by her great nieces and nephews, Jacqueline and Claire Grandy, David and Ryan Salter, Kate and Daniel Taylor. Uhrig, William Henry, with grace and dignity, after a long and fruitful life, the family of William Henry Uhrig announce his sudden passing on Sunday, March 30, 2008, in his 90th year, at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton, Ontario. Loving and devoted husband of the late Mabel Lange Uhrig. Much loved father of Sandra Reinhardus and her husband Carel of Southampton, Bob and his wife Carol Ann of Grand Bend, Bill Jr. and his wife Dana of Milton and Judy Merritt and her husband Colin of Waterloo. Outstanding grandfather to Keri Leggett Davies and her husband Brad of Dorchester, Jodi Merritt Barendregt and husband Chris of Ingersoll, David and girlfriend Julie of Guilford, Connecticut and Jessica Uhrig of Kitchener. The best great grandfather ever to Kai and Annie Davies. Survived by brother, Norman of St. Catharines, by sisters, Merle, Mrs. Stan Harrod of Brantford and Marguerite, Mrs. Leslie Smith of Hamilton, as well as brother-in-law Ernie Lange of Sault Ste. Marie and sister-in-law Marjorie Lange of Scarborough and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father John Henry, his mother Lulu Mae, brother Jack and sisters Vida, Mrs. Clarence Ware, Lorraine, Mrs. Wilfred Reinhart, Beatrice, Mrs. Russell Gibbons, and Madeleine, Mrs. Ted Williams. He is now reunited with his loving wife Mabel and his grandson Andy Uhrig. He will also be sadly missed by his morning coffee clutch. Born and raised in Southampton, (Little Stratford), with the exception of his service during World War II, Bill spent his entire life in the town of his birth. He spent 47 years in the furniture trade, working at Fitton Parker Furniture, and retiring in 1983. After retirement, Bill continued his artistic talents by building and selling handcrafted pieces of furniture in his own woodworking shop, while mentoring others interested in the trade. In later years, Bill became an avid collector of bygone era memorabilia. Bill was a private man, who loved a good joke, and who was intensely proud of his family, and mesmerized by his great grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155, in Southampton, for 62 years.
