Johnson, Alfred Christian, in Southampton on Saturday April 5, 2008. Alfred Johnson of Southampton in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Norma Johnson, who passed away only 15 days earlier. Alf will be sadly missed by his nephews, Paul Fife and his wife Marylee of Windsor, Tom Fife of Toronto, and his great nieces, Jessica, Megan, and Lauren. Survived by his brother Alvin and his wife Joan of Windsor. He will be remembered by his friends Gilles & Desneiges Roy and by the members of the Probus Club of Saugeen Shores, where he was a Past President. Predeceased by his parents Victor and Lima Johnson, and by his sister Mary. Cremation. A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Alfred Johnson will be held in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton, on Saturday April 12, 2008 at 11a.m. Interment of Ashes in Southampton cemetery. Expressions of Remembrance to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Shular, Jason Ronald, at his residence in Port Elgin, on Saturday April 12, 2008. Jason Shular of Port Elgin in his 26th year. Cherished son of Wanda and her husband Ted Rivest of Southampton and Ken Shular and his wife Sharon of Allenford. Loving father of Michael of Port Elgin. Dear brother of Ken and his wife Kim of Port Elgin. Proud uncle of William. Special brother to John Pinch and his wife Amanda of Port Elgin and Corey Pinch and his wife Amy of Chesley. Also survived by his grandmother Rose Shular of Southampton. Jason will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, by his cousins, by his very special friends and by many of the community and of work. Predeceased by his grandfather, Kenneth Shular and by his grandparents, Eileen and Milton Pratt. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Life Service for Jason R. Shular will be conducted from St Paul’s Anglican Church on Friday at 11am. Cremation. A Time of Fellowship and Sharing will follow at the Southampton Legion Branch #155. Private Interment of Ashes at a later date. Expressions of Remembrance to a Special Trust Fund to be established at the Meridian Credit Union, in support of his son, Michael.

Seehaver, Siegfried Oswald at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday April 16, 2008. Sieg Seehaver, born in Tonhian Germany, a long time resident of Southampton in his 72nd year. Sieg will be best remembered for owning and operating Seehaver Construction for 35 years and being a Paul Harris member of the Southampton Rotary Club. Beloved husband for 48 years of Marilynn Seehaver (nee Koepke) of Southampton. Loving father of Glenn and his partner Annie and Robert and his partner Cathy, both of Port Elgin. He will be sadly missed and remembered by his grandchildren Jessica and her partner Kyle, Melissa, Kurtis, Kyle, Amy, Kady, and his great grandson Luke. Survived by his brothers, Gunther, Reinhard, and Gerhard, by his nieces and nephews and their families all in Germany, also by his 3 brother-in-law’s and 1 sister-in-law and by his niece. Predeceased by his parents his sister, his sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and his nephew. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Siegfried Seehaver will be conducted from the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Monday April 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. Reverend Keith Reynolds will officiate. Interment at Southampton cemetery. Expressions of Remembrance maybe made to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Jones, Lavern Louis, at Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, Owen Sound, on Friday April 18, 2008. Lavern Louis Jones of Southampton in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Watson (Molly) Jones (nee Vallance). Dear father of Kenneth Watson Jones and his fiancee Susan Tolton and Mary Annette Spahr, both of Southampton. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Mary Ellen and her husband Billy Strickland of Texas, Carol Ann Jones of Wilberforce, David and his wife Catherine of Whitby, Matthew Casler of Stratford, Angela Casler and her fiancé Jason Law of Hamilton, Jake Spahr of Southampton and by his great grandchildren, Crystal Ann Marie Jones, Garret Watson Jones, and Hunter Strickland. At Lavern’s request there will be no Visitation nor Funeral Services. Cremation. A Service for the Interment of Ashes will be conducted at Southampton cemetery on May 10th 2008 at 11am. Expressions of Remembrance to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

HAYLOCK, DORIS ELIZABETH "BETTY"

Haylock, Doris Elizabeth “Betty”, passed away, suddenly, at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, after a brief illness, April 25, 2008. Betty Haylock (nee Kightley) of Goderich in her 89th year. Betty was so proud of being a Registered Nurse, who graduated from Toronto Western Hospital in 1941 and who served as a Nursing Sister with the RCAF during WWII. She had the pleasure of working in various Hospitals around the Province of Ontario. Beloved wife of the late George Edward Haylock. Loved and loving mother of Gerry and her husband Andy Malcomson of Southampton and Peggy Smith of Middletown, Virginia. Proud grandmother of Heather Zurbrigg and her husband Trevor Yu, Stephen Smith, Allan and his wife Nicole Zurbrigg and Sarah Smith. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her great grandchildren, Elliott and Annika. Predeceased by her parents Sarah and Ed Kightley, by her sister Evelyn and by her brothers, George and Roy. At Betty’s request there will be no Visitation. Cremation. A Private Family Graveside Service will take place at Barrie Union cemetery. Expressions of Remembrance to the Goderich C.T. Scanner Campaign.

Wood, Carl Stanley, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on the same day as his sister, Lola, October 8, 2003. Carl Wood of Southampton in his 82nd year. Carl was a member of the R.C.A.F. WWII and former owner, along with his wife, of Rosewood Cottages, Southampton. Beloved husband of 58 years, of Rose Wood (nee Agar) of Southampton. Dear father of Ron of Stratford and Wendy and her husband Dave Staranchuk of Southampton. Proud grandfather of Julie and her husband Joe Furlong of Atlanta Georgia and Larry Jacobs and his wife Michelle of Shreveport Louisiana. Predeceased by sons, Randy and Barry and by his sister Lola Frank. At Carl’s request there will be no visitation nor funeral services. Cremation. Private Interment of Ashes, Avondale cemetery Stratford. Expressions of Remembrance to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. TIMMINS, HAROLD ALFRED

Timmins, Harold Alfred, peacefully died on Monday April 28, 2008 in Southampton Hospital in his 84th year. Harold is the beloved husband of Isabel (nee Drover) of Southampton, dear father of Valerie (Doug Salmon), Deborah (Ambrose Jones) and Shawn, loving grandfather of Timothy, Felicity, Karla, Jessica, Stephanie, Matthew, Tyler and Cory and proud great grandfather of Cameron, Ethan, Grace and Asher. Harold will be sadly missed by his brother Alec and his sister Felicity and lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his son Guy, his 2 brothers, Jack and George and his 2 sisters Elsie and Helen. Harold was a distinguished member of the Southampton Legion Branch #155 having served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. At Harold’s request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Harold Timmins will be conducted at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Southampton, on Friday May 2, 2008 at 11am with Reverend Margaret Greenhow officiating. A Time of Fellowship and Sharing will follow in the Social Hall of the Church. Interment will follow at Kincardine cemetery at 3pm. Should family and friends desire, Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Anglican Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing our beloved husband and father on September 7th, 2008 in Southampton Ontario.
Art was a loving husband to Jean Hamilton for 39 years and the late Mary Stewart for 26 years.
He was a caring father to Barbara (Bill Mann), Virginia, Arthur (Nicole Scott), Ross Hamilton (Adriana de Gouvea), Laura Hamilton (Ray Gormley), Carol Wills, and the late Stewart Field.
Art will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan, Kyler, Ella, Sydney, Eva, Sofia, Ashlyn, Catherine, Sam, James, and his great granddaughter Reese.
Art lived a very full and satisfying life. A graduate of Upper Canada College, he served in the RCAF Squadron 423 as a Pilot Officer in the North Atlantic. He graduated from University of Toronto in 1948 as a civil engineer and had a successful business career in Toronto until his retirement in 1974. Retiring just outside the town of Durham in Grey County, Art established a successful consulting engineering firm, enjoyed farming, was active in the community, and engaged in municipal politics. In 1993 he and his wife Jean relocated to the town of Southampton where Art golfed, curled and was a member of many community organizations.
Art was a passionate reader, a risk-taker, an imaginative thinker and a friend to many. A true gentleman to the end…he will be greatly missed!
A memorial service will be held at the Southampton United church on Saturday September 13, 2008 at 2pm with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital or the Southampton United Church.

Beloved partner of Pamela Kewageshig of Saugeen First Nation. Dear father of Dwayne Johnson and his wife Kathleen of Saugeen First Nation. Dear brother of Beulah and her husband Rick Johnson, Hubert and his wife Vida, Herman and his wife Pat, Ken and his wife Susie and Bertha all of Saugeen First Nation. Proud grandfather of Philip Dwayne Jr., Felicia and Kayla. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Hilda Roote, by his sisters Muriel and Sarah and by his nephews, Tom and Will. Visitation from the Wesley United Church, Saugeen First Nation, on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 7-9pm and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be conducted from the James Mason Cultural Centre, Saugeen First Nation on Thursday at 2pm. Interment French Bay cemetery. Expressions of Remembrance to the Wesley United Church.
