Cherished Papa of Andrew and Sarah Downey. Predeceased by his son Robert, brother James Charters and sister Anne. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also remembered by his other family members and friends. Alex was a long time employee of American Can Company, active participant of many choirs and a enthusiastic Tiger Cat fan. Beloved wife of the late John Paterson Blair and cherished mother of David (and Barbara), Frances (and Wayne), Ross (and Donna). Beloved grandmother of Russell, Julie, Joe, Katie, Christine and Brenda and great-grandmother of Amanda, Aisha, Adam, Dana and Caroline. Dear sister-in-law of Vi Blair, Janet Blair, Barbara Walker and Margaret Widdup. Olive was predeceased by her parents Charles and Margaret Widdup, step-mother Elizabeth, sister Clara Baxter, and brothers Clifford and Martin. Mom was cared for by the staff of the Riviera with love and great gentleness and we thank them and Diana and Lori at St. Elizabeth Nursing. Mom was a lifelong member of James Street Baptist Church, baptized in May, 1926 and she and dad were married there on March 14, 1940.
