HUDMAN, Ernest - At his home with his family by his side on Saturday, August 3, 2002. Ernie Hudman at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of Cathy. Dear father of Judy Aitchison (Wayne), Sheila Smith (Al), all of Ariss, Jennifer Fischer (Ed), Neil (Robin), Steve (Julie), Ian (Val), Kenny Brown (Julie) all of Guelph. Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Tom Melancon and his wife Anita of Guelph and all his family in England. Predeceased by his grandson Troy (2000). Ernie was a member of the Guelph Amateur Radio Club (VE3DAZ) and has been a ham radio operator for over 30 years. A memorial service will be held at the family home, 28 Glenbrook Drive, Guelph on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at 4 p.m. Cremation Woodlawn Crematorium. Memorial contribution to the Guelph Humane Society or the Guelph Wish Fund for Children would be appreciated. RIETKERK, Maria - Peacefully, at Faith Manor, in Brampton, Ont., on Friday, August 2, 2002, in her 87th year. Marie, beloved wife of Klaas "Ken". Loving mother of Joe and his wife Barbara, Jane and her husband Uko Zylstra, Brian and his wife Florence and John and his wife Judy. Cherished grandmother of Geoff, Peter, Marie, Ken, Paul, Kim, Tim, Aaron, Michael and Jordan and great-grandmother of Elliott and Coen. Dear sister of Annie and Tina of Holland. The family will receive friends at the Scott Funeral Home, 289 Main St. N., "Brampton Chapel" on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Service in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. A Memorial Service will also be held at the Holland Christian Homes at 3 p.m. Interment Brampton Memorial Gardens. In memory of Maria, donations to World Vision would be greatly appreciated.

Dr. Graham Child, a graduate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Guelph, in his 54th year. Dear son of Ken and Mabel Child. Loving father of Christianne and her husband Alex Mitchell, Jackie (Eric) Levasseur, Matthew Child and Sarah Child. Dear brother of Gary and Vincent and his wife Angie. Papa Mouffe to Gabrielle. Uncle of Lorraine, Danielle, Stephanie, Julie, Andrea, Kelly and Ann-Marie. Friends will be received at the J. S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd. (north of Maple Ave.) Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 10, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation. ROGERS, Myrtle (nee Mason) - Suddenly, on Thursday, August 1, 2002, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, Myrtle Rogers, with her family at her side, went to be with the Lord. Myrtle May Rogers (nee Mason), in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold Rogers (1981). Loving mother of Ruth and her husband Bob Jackson of Elora, Robert and his wife Ruth Rogers of Cambridge, Carole and her husband Morley Chute of Brantford, Marlene and her husband Norman Cooper of Mount Forest and Doug Rogers of Salem. Myrtle is dearly loved by nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sisters, Ethel McHarg, Ruth Wells, Jack and Donald and also a host of nieces and nephews. Myrtle is predeceased by brothers, Robert, Hiram, Colin, Duncan and Lewis and sisters, Mary, Phyllis and Kathleen. The family will receive their friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 37 Church St., Elora from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2002. Funeral service will be conducted at the Central Pentacostal Church, 7674 Colborne St. Elora on Monday, August 5, 2002 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Don Rogers officiating at the service followed by a family interment on Tuesday morning at the Elora cemetery in Elora. FIELD, Wm. Jeffrey (Jeff) - As the result of an accident while camping, on Friday, August 2, 2002, passed away, at Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton, on Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at the age of 29. FLEDDERUS, Theresa Engelina (nee Huisman) - On Saturday, August 10, 2002, the Lord in his mercy took to be with Himself, His child, Theresa. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and were blessed by her. Beloved wife of Ralph. Cherished mother of Lyn and Steve Marfisi and Carolin and Stephen Tolkamp. Much loved oma of Alyssa, Philip and Amelia Marfisi and Joshua and Samantha Tolkamp. Loved sister of Agnes Puurveen, Nell Hagen and Bert Huisman. Predeceased by her sister, Ria Kroezen and her parents. PARKER, Marguerite Ellen (Rita) - Passed away, peacefully, at Saugeen Valley Nursing Centre, Friday, August 9, 2002, in her 81st year. Loving aunt of Julie Trimby of Bexhill-on-Sea, England. Marguerite leaves behind many loving friends. At Marguerite's request, cremation has taken place in Guelph, Ont. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date (to be announced). A tree will be planted in memory of Marguerite Parker in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph, Arboretum. Dedication service Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at 2:30 p.m.

LOWRIE, Joan Catherine - At Guelph General Hospital, Guelph, on Friday, August 9, 2002. Joan (Archibald) Lowrie, at the age of 67 years. Beloved wife of the late Mansel Lowrie (1987). Cherished mom of Steven Lowrie of Eden Mills. Loving grandma of Dusty, Jessica and Katelyn. Survived by her sisters, Harriet, Lil and Bea, all of Toronto. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Bus, Jack and Ken and her sisters, Leona, Joy and Marion. The family expresses special thanks to the fifth floor staff of Guelph General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Eden Mills Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 12, at 3 p.m. (visitation from 2-3 p.m.) Interment Eden Mills cemetery. A reception will be held at the church. McGILL, Barbara "Betty" Elizabeth Mary - Peacefully at her home in Wasaga Beach, on Friday, June 21, 2002. Betty Dawe of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Guelph, in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late Harry "Hank" McGill (1994); loving mother of Stacey McGill and her friend Paul Dougan of Guelph; dear sister of James Dawe of Guelph. Predeceased by sister-in-law Josephine Dawe. Also survived by nieces Diane and Sandra and nephews Frank and Jim. A Memorial Service will be held at the Butcher Family Funeral Home, 5399 Main St. South, Erin, on Thursday, June 27, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Davison officiating. Visitation on Thursday one hour prior to service time. If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated as expression of sympathy.

ROWDEN, Agnes Lois - Of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Sunday, July 7, 2002, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Howard "Whitey" Rowden (1984). Loved mother of Larry (Pat) Rowden of Harriston, Sandra (Mike) Machin of Thessalon, Pam (Bruce) McNeill of Guelph, Eric (Coral) Rowden of Kitchener, David, Jim and Bradley Rowden, all of Guelph; loving grandmother of Christopher, Patrick and Michael Nuttley, Adam, Philip, Leisha, Chad and Caitlyn Rowden, Bryan and Blair McNeill. Dear sister of Gwen Rowden of Sarnia and sister-in-law of Marg McCartney of Guelph. Lois will be sadly missed by Bonnie Woolham of Guelph; also survived by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, James and Mitchell McCartney; sister, Viola Waterman and husband Ed; special nephew, Allan Rowden and a brother-in-law, Ross Rowden. MANSFIELD, Valerie Ann - (1940-2002). Peacefully, an angel and British Precidence has left us, Valerie Ann Mansfield, born May 31, 1940 in Nottingham, England. Beloved mother of predeceased son, Mark. Wayne and Ruth, live on her legacy. Dearest daughter of John Parkes and Dorothy and Alfred Schaw. Forever loved sister of John, Taraleen and Sharon. Niece to Betty and predeceased, Beatty, Margaret and great-uncle John; cousin to Roy. In the name and hearts of grandchildren, Adam, Mathew, Travis, Brandon and all whom loved and cared for her as did she, in her spirit whereever she journeyed. Burial service only, to reunite her with Mark, will be held Monday, July 22, 2002 at 3 p.m. at Woodland cemetery in Kitchener. All donations can be directed to St. Peters Hospital, Hamilton in her memory with greatest appreciation from her children to all who supported her cause.

HAYES, Leonard E. - At London Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, in his 67th year.Beloved husband of Janet; dear father of Stephen, Sharon and her husband Steve Elst and Linda and her husband Rene Pulles. Proud grandpa of Michelle, Brittany, Ben, Jeff, Kirstin and Sarah. He will be missed by his brother, Ernie Hayes and his wife Dorothy and sisters, Ev. Couling and her late husband Dick, Ella and her husband Bill Dumas and Myrt and her husband Ron Lamb. Predeceased by a sister, Alice Ward and a twin sister, Lois Barber. Len was a long time employee of the Village of Elora. Friends will be received at the Thomson-Jeffrey Funeral Home, 160 St. David Street North, Fergus today (Wednesday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Thomson Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Elora cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

VLACHOS, Villie (nee Kastris) - Very peacefully, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, on Friday, June 14, 2002, in her 88th year. Villie was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also owned and operated the Fergus Restaurant from 1935 to 1985. Beloved wife of the late Paul Vlachos (1995). Sadly missed by her sister, Patricia Chrisomalis of Oshawa and her brother, Bill Kastris of Ajax. Villie is also dearly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, George and Dimitra Kastris. Villie will be sadly missed by her many friends in Fergus. Friends and relatives may call at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus on Sunday, June 16, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Greek Orthodox Funeral Service will be held in the chapel today (Monday, June 17, 2002) at 1 p.m. Interment in Belsyde cemetery. CREMASCO, Aldo (Mike) - At K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Wednesday, July 31, 2002. Aldo (Mike) Cremasco, age 78 years, beloved son of the late Marcella (Zilio) and the late Joseph Cremasco. Loving brother of Anthony and his wife Della and Victor and his wife Mary, all of Guelph and Louie and his wife Marie of Flamborough. Predeceased by two sisters, Rita Turner and Marie Damaren. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil for Aldo will be held this evening (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Boniface Church, Maryhill, on Friday, August 2, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

GUEST, Ruth (nee Goodwin) - November 13, 1927 - July 12, 2002. After an extended battle with cancer, Ruth succumbed in the early hours of July 12th. She had lived in southern California since 1955 where she worked for Pacific Bell until her retirement in 1993. She is mourned by family members: grandson, Jason McAllister; great-granddaughter, Taylor; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Don Bodie of Qualicum Beach, B.C.; niece, Donalyn Simpson of Vancouver; cousins, Wilma Smellie of Guelph, Blaine Snellie of Dover, Oklahoma, Ruby Lasby of Elora, Madeline Dandeno of London, Ontario and her many friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Pacific View Memorial in Newport Beach, California.
