ROGERS, Myrtle (nee Mason) - Suddenly, on Thursday, August 1, 2002, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, Myrtle Rogers, with her family at her side, went to be with the Lord. Myrtle May Rogers (nee Mason), in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold Rogers (1981). Villie was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also owned and operated the Fergus Restaurant from 1935 to 1985. Beloved wife of the late Paul Vlachos (1995). Sadly missed by her sister, Patricia Chrisomalis of Oshawa and her brother, Bill Kastris of Ajax. Villie is also dearly missed by several nieces and nephews. GUEST, Ruth (nee Goodwin) - November 13, 1927 - July 12, 2002. After an extended battle with cancer, Ruth succumbed in the early hours of July 12th. She had lived in southern California since 1955 where she worked for Pacific Bell until her retirement in 1993. She is mourned by family members: grandson, Jason McAllister; great-granddaughter, Taylor; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Don Bodie of Qualicum Beach, B.C.; niece, Donalyn Simpson of Vancouver; cousins, Wilma Smellie of Guelph, Blaine Snellie of Dover, Oklahoma, Ruby Lasby of Elora, Madeline Dandeno of London, Ontario and her many friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Pacific View Memorial in Newport Beach, California.
