NICKASON, Blanche Mae (nee Snow) - Of Guelph, passed away at Guelph General Hospital, Saturday, June 15, 2002, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Nickason (1965). Loved mother of Lawrence (Helen) Nickason of Cambridge, Barbara (Arthur) Johnson of Guelph and Caroline Ringel of London. Loving grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of nine. A private family service was held at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Monday, June 17, 2002 with the Rev. Chris Hutchison-Housell officiating. Interment Woodlawn cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 204-21 Surrey St. W., Guelph, Ont. N1H 3R3 would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Blanche Nickason in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph, Arboretum. Dedication service Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at 2:30 p.m.

PADDOCK, Frank Ross - Passed away, on Saturday, June 15, 2002,, at Guelph General Hospital. Frank Ross Paddock, 78 years of age, dear brother of John Roy (Carolyn) of Guelph, Isabelle Duerksen (Walter) of Aberfoyle, Helen McLean (Grant) of Guelph, Blanche Mayer (Bruce) of California, the late William (1952) and the late George Robert (1932). Dear uncle of John Duerksen of N.Y. State, Tracy Duerksen of Colorado and Jean Ann Mayer of California. Predeceased by his parents, Sarah and Jack Paddock. Frank had spent his life farming in the township of Puslinch. He was a member of the New Hope Masonic Lodge, AM & AF No. 279 for over 50 years. Funeral arrangements were held privately at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, today with interment following at Killean cemetery , Killean.

MAUGERI, Natalina - At Guelph General Hospital, on Tuesday, July 2, 2002. Natalina (Mammoliti) Maugeri, in her 80th year, beloved wife of the late Cosimo Maugeri (1980). Loving mother of Rita and her husband Vince Mammoliti of Toronto and Iolanda and her husband Don Beam of Guelph; dear Nonna of Annamaria, Fernando, Cosimo, Vince and the late Joseph and of nine great-grandchildren; dear sister of Vincenzo Mammoliti and Teresa Albanese, both of Italy. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Natalina will be held today (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph, on Thursday, July 4, 2002, at 12 noon. Interment Marymount cemetery , Guelph. GATTI, Mary Theresa - At Lapointe-Fisher Nursing Home, Guelph, on Thursday, July 18, 2002. Mary Theresa (nee Brunato) Gatti, in her 88th year, was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Peter Gatti (April 6, 1995). She was the dear sister of John Brunato and his wife Enes of Leamington and Gemma (Mrs. Peter Gatti) of Welland. Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Monday, July 22, 2002, from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow and be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment , Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph's Health Care would be appreciated by the family.

LABONTE, Renate Dora (nee Dalbergs) - Suddenly, but peacefully, at Toronto Western Hospital, on Thursday, July 11, 2002. Dora was two days short of her 41st birthday. She lived in Guelph and will be sadly missed by her husband, Joe (Jody); her sons, Adam, Alek and Drew and her father, Ilmars Dalbergs, who lives in St. Catharines. Dora was predeceased by her mother, Marta Dalbergs in 1991 and by her grandmother, Elvira Mucenieks-Saulite in 1993. She was a sister to George Dalbergs and his wife Marilyn, Gunta Towsley and her husband Ken, Gunars Balodis and his wife Frances. She was an aunt to Erik and Krisjanis Dalbergs, Kevin and David Pasquino, Mark Balodis and Olivia Riddell. Dora is also mourned by her aunt, Silvija Raivars and cousins in Australia; her uncle, Valdis Mucenieks and cousins in England and in Latvia. She also leaves aunts, Ausma Magons and Lydia Dumpis and cousins in Canada and the USA. She will be lovingly remembered by Joe's parents, John and Mary Labonte of Port Dalhousie and their loving family, Alice Wood, Karen Ens, Michele Robertson, John, Tim, Marylou Frendo and Patrick. Dora leaves many friends, clients and colleagues in Scouts Canada. The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Dora will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to Scouts Canada would be appreciated by the family. FORD, Julianna (Julie) - Peacefully, at her residence, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer, June 18, in her 58th year. Born in Hungary, Julia lived for many years in the U.S. and Canada. Sadly missed by her son, Sandor (Kim) Ford of Lancaster, Mass.; nephews, Stan and Robert Fuleki; niece, Linda Roberts of Ontario; brother, Alex Fuleki of Florida and their families. Lovingly remembered by her two grandchildren, Ashley and Jacob. At Julia's request, no visitation or services were held and cremation has taken place. Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

DENSMORE, Elaine - After a long courageous battle with cancer, at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus on Wednesday July 17, 2002, in her 66th year. Beloved wife of Grant Densmore of Arthur. Dear mother of Ruby Lennox and her husband Chris, Dale Densmore and his wife Susan, all of Arthur, Brent Densmore and his wife Jennifer of Elmira and Lori Bridge and her husband Steven of Angus. Sadly missed by her sisters, Marilyn (Jim) Cherry of Wallenstein, Lyla Peterkin of Huntsville and June (Dr. Jim) Morris of Ridgetown. Survived by brother-in-law, Ross Densmore; sister-in-law, Esther Edwards; brothers-in-law, Manley (Doreen) Densmore and Alvin (Betty) Densmore; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Paul) Schmidt and brother-in-law, Donald (Shirley) Densmore. Special friend of Don and Eileen McPhee. Much cherished Grandma of Marie, Melanie, Madelaine, Joe, Ryan, Scott, Nicholas, Sarah, Colton and Blair. Predeceased by brothers-in-law, Bill Peterkin, Murray Edwards and Orville Densmore and sisters-in-law, Eunice and Joyce Densmore. Family will receive friends at the Crawford Funeral Home, 243 George St., Arthur, on Sunday July 21, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Arthur United Church on Monday July 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. Interment Greenfield cemetery , Arthur to follow. SERVICE, Shirley Ellen - After a short illness, at her home, in Fergus, on Friday, August 2, 2002, Shirley Ellen Service, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Service. Dear daughter of Gertrude Funston and the late Lorne Funston. Loving mother of Deborah and her husband Lee Brewster of Victoria, B.C., Brent and his wife Agnes and Brenda and her husband Peter Bulfon; loving grandmother of Meghan, Elijah, Joshua, Sabrina and Adriano; dear sister of Frank Funston and his wife Joan, Jean Robar and her husband Fred, Russell Funston and his wife Rose, Lorna Bacon and her husband Dennis, Mabel Lavender and her husband Tom and John Funston and his friend Francis. Predeceased by a sister, Dolly Murray and an infant brother, Jimmy.Shirley was a longtime employee of Imperial Tobacco in Guelph. Cremation has taken place at Woodlawn Crematorium, Guelph. A memorial service will be held at the Thomson - Collins Funeral Home, 160 St. David Street North, Fergus on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at 11 a.m. with Ray Pearse officiating. A private family interment of cremated remains at Belsyde cemetery will follow. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

CHARTRAND, Jeffrey Paul - Suddenly, at Edmonton, Alberta, June 8, 2002. Jeffrey Chartrand, in his 31st year. Beloved son of Bradley Chartrand of Fergus and Linda MacLean of Guelph. Loved father of William Anthony Youngs of Edmonton. Dear brother of Greg Chartrand of Trenton, Bonnie Harding of Hamilton, Gary Smith of Guelph, Peter MacLean of Guelph and Trevor Chartrand of Fergus. Loving grandson of Leo and Eleanor Chartrand of Arthur, Shirley Pembleton and Roy Dobberthien, both of Guelph. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place. RINTOUL, Agnes. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland April 15, 1914, passed away peacefully at home with family on July 5, 2002. Served with the WRNS during World War II, immigrated to Canada in 1958 to be with her brother and his infant daughter. Sadly missed by her niece Fiona, brother Richard and family members and friends in Scotland. Fiona is a landscape architect in Guelph.

FINDLAY, Rita - passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Monday, July 8, 2002. Rita (Roy) Findlay at the age of 62 years. Beloved wife of Bill Findlay of Guelph; dear mother of Dawn Porcellato (Dan), Lee Findlay (Lori), all of Guelph; Allison Lumley of Red Deer, Alberta and Sarah Ferris (Dave) of Guelph; loving grandma of 11 grandchildren; sister-in-law of Pam Roy of England. Predeceased by her daughter Gail Lynch. Funeral service will be held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions to the Partners for Better Health in support of the Guelph General Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital and Home would be appreciated.

ROWAN, Mary Olive (nee Miller) - Formerly of Guelph and Mimosa, passed away, at Wellington Terrace, Elora, on Monday, July 8, 2002, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Ewart (1975). Survived by her son, Don and his wife Mary of RR 5, Belwood and grandchildren, Rick and his wife Shannon of Guelph, Lynn and her husband Jason VanMaanen of Ridgetown and Brent of Guelph. Great-grandma to Christopher Rowan and Adam VanMaanen. Predeceased by infant daughter, Carol Ann (1937) and sisters, Isabel Talbot, Mildred Tibbles and brothers, Fred, Gordon and Melville. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Thursday) (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held in the Mimosa United Church, Friday, July 12, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Chang Lee, Rev. Elmer Leis and Rev. Arlene Leis officiating. SALISBURY, Winnifred Viola - Peacefully, at Headwaters Health Care, in Orangeville, on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. Winnifred Griffin, of Belfountain, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Anson E. Salisbury (1989). Loving mother of Rodney A. Salisbury and his wife Sheila of Belfountain. Dear sister of Elizabeth Haynes of Orangeville. Predeceased by her brother, Norval Griffin and sisters, Gertrude McLoughlin and Marjorie McKinnon. Winnifred will be sadly missed by her several nieces, nephews and friends.
