STEWART, Arthur Richard - (Former Employee, City of Guelph for 27 years) of Guelph, passed away at his residence, Thursday, August 15, 2002, in his 66th year. Beloved husband of the late Dianne (1997). Dear brother of Donald Stewart of Guelph and Ethel Melancon of British Columbia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by five brothers and one sister. At Art's request there will be no service. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Arthur Stewart in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph, Arboretum. Dedication service Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at 2:30 p.m.

STUTELY, Roy C. - Suddenly, at his home, in Fergus, on Wednesday, August 14, 2002, Roy Stutely, of Fergus, age 54 years. Beloved husband and soul mate of Bonnie Wettlaufer; loved father of Tammy of Halifax and Mark of Whistler, B.C.; dear brother of Jim and his wife Margie of Halifax, N.S. and Dorothy and her husband Johnny of Halifax, N.S. Roy is loving survived by his step-daughters, Shelley and her husband Jerry of Hamilton and Crystal and her husband Jerry of Damascus and also grandchildren, Chantel and Zack. Predeceased by one sister, Marion. The family will receive their friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight (Friday). A complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 8:30 p.m. Followed by interment in the family plot in Halifax, N.S. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home, 843-3100).

TOLLEFSON, Gloria Ruth - Passed away, at her home, in London, on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at the age of 69 years. Survived by her sisters, Grace and her husband Jerry Smith of Simco and June Hanson of Lunenburg and brothers, Leonard Tollefson and his wife Paula of Stayner, Rod Tollefson and his wife Shirley of Clarkson, Gord Tollefson and his wife Doris of Mississauga, Dan Tollefson and his wife Bev of Mississauga and Don Tollefson and his wife Elaine of Brampton. Gloria will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Edith and Selnor Tollefson and brother-in-law, Len Hanson. Funeral service will be held at Central Pentecostal Church, 7674 Colborne St., Elora on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment Elora cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to The Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Graham A. SANDS, Henrietta - Peacefully in her sleep, at Cedarcroft Retirement Home, in Stratford, on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, Henrietta (Nettie) Agnes (McCreadie) Sands, age 83, of Stratford, formerly of Sarnia. Dear wife of the late John Donald Sands (1989). Loving mother of Betty Sands and her husband Irvine Nichols of Stratford, June Davis and her husband Rick of Guelph and Rosemary Wilson of Stittsville; grandmother of Emory, Deirdre and Eric Davis and Robert and Kathleen Wilson; step-grandmother of Jennifer and Robert Nichols; sister of Ann Smith of Sarnia, Marg Scott and her husband Albert of Forest, Dorothy Carswell and her husband Andrew of Toronto and Kay Moniot of Sarnia; special friend of Heather, John and Tyler Virostek of Sarnia. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by a sister, Marian. Mrs. Sands had been a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church, the church choir, the UCW and Christian Endeavour. She was employed for many years with Sarnia Hydro. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of the D.J. Robb Funeral Home (Sarnia) on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 10 a.m., with Rev. Dale Burkart of St. Paul's United Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial gifts to St. Paul's United Church Fund or the charity of choice would be appreciated. "The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff at Cedarcroft, Dr. Lori Kolano and Dr. Sean Blaine".

DONAFELD, Janina - Suddenly passed away with her family at her side, on Saturday, August 17, 2002. Janina (Solecka) in her 70th year, was the beloved wife of the late Stanislaw Donafeld (1970). Loving and devoted mother of Henry and his wife Zuzanna of Guelph, Richard and his wife Sophie of Toronto, John and his wife Cindy and Krystyna and her fiance Ron, all of Guelph; dear Babcia of Krystyna, Andrzej, Richard, Avary, Anne, Ben and Shaina. Janina will be sadly missed by her family by her dear friend Mrs. Klain. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil for Janina will take place on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, at 10 a.m. Interment Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Catholic Missions, Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.

VANDENDOOL, Grace, ARCT, RMT - At her home, on Friday, Aug. 16, 2002. Grace (nee Vandelagemaat) Vandendool, in her 67th year, was the loving wife of Harry Vandendool. She was the dear mother of Melissa Amanda Vandendool-Cable and her husband Gary and Neil Vandendool. Grace was the loving grandmother of Tamara and Alexa. She is survived by three brothers and one sister. Grace was a world-renowned music educator who authored many educational music books. She shared her love of music with thousands of children throughout the years and, in later life, she was able to share her knowledge with hundreds of thousands of children through her published works. The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 117 Guelph St., Rockwood on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 from 2-4 and 6:30-9:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dublin St., United Church, 154 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

FERGUSON, James Gregory "Greg" - Peacefully, on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at his residence, surrounded by his family, age 45 years, of Kitchener. Loving husband of Moyra (nee Smith); dear father of Jim Ferguson of Cambridge and Rick Slipp and wife Shannon of Guelph. Remembered by his grandson, Griffen. Survived by his parents, Jim and Anne Ferguson; his brother, Gary Ferguson of Cambridge and his sister, Susan Callahan of Guelph. At Greg's request cremation has taken place. SHAFER, Robert Gordon - Peacefully, at Guelph General Hospital, on Saturday, July 20, 2002. Robert G. Shafer, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris R. (White) Shafer (1991). Dear father of Lee, Clifford and his wife Sandy and Steven Shafer. Dear grandfather of Valerie, Tina, Harmony, Tala, Sarah and Tia. Great-grandfather of Damien and Sydney. Bob is survived by his brother, David Shafer and by his sister, Joan Chapman and will be missed by Chuck and Linda McCrossan. Edna (nee Draper) - Following a brief illness, on Friday, July 5, 2002, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Edna Redwood, of Guelph, formerly of Fergus, in her 88th year, passed away as she slept and has gone to be with her heavenly Father. Beloved wife of James (Jim) Redwood of Guelph, formerly of Fergus. Loving mother of Doreen and her husband Dave Hammond of Elora, Stan and his wife Inez of Inverhaugh and Barry and his wife Donna of Elora. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Heather, Gary, Steve, Tracey, Lisa, Chris and Kelly and great-grandchildren, Corey, Shauna, Jaclyn, Dana, Alyssia, Wyatt, Whitney, Taylor, Tye and Breanna. Edna is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Redwood of Cambridge (Galt) and brother-in-law, Richard Upcraft of Walkerton. Edna is lovingly remembered by a number of family members and a host of friends. The family will receive their friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 7. Funeral service will be conducted at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 Silvercreek Parkway N., Guelph on Monday, July 8, 2002 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Jon Fogleman officiating at the service. Interment will be held at the Belsyde cemetery , Fergus. BROWN, Mary May (Simpson) - Peacefully, at the Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus, on Wednesday, June 19, 2002. Mary "May" Brown, in her 78th year, was the beloved wife of the late James Brown (1980). Loving mother of Tom Brown and his wife Sandra of Mount Forest and Heather Attwater and her husband Ralph of Tecumseh; loving grandmother of Thomas Brown Jr., Adam Hartfiel, Ian Brown, Meaghan Brown, Christena MacLean, Timothy Attwater, Michelle Ainger and Michael Ainger. Loving sister of Elizabeth Zambonini of Retford, England, Andrew Simpson of Coventry, England and many nieces and nephews in England and Scotland. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., where the family will receive friends tonight (Thursday) 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church on Friday, June 21, 2002 at 11 a.m. Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau, Ont. PEACOCK, Douglas - It is with deep sadness, that the family of Douglas Peacock, announce his passing, on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Guelph General Hospital, at the age of 70. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Jean, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Doug was the dedicated and loving father of Graham of Elmira and Kerri and her husband David Coffin of Guelph. He was the cherished Papa of Shayne, Devon, Taylor and Jesse. Doug will be greatly missed by closest friends, Marilyn and Harold Hannigan and by his special daughters, Donna Sepers, Wendy Sergejew and Diane Butzke. The family will receive visitors at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Thursday, August 22, from 9-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation and interment of ashes will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Elmira and District Association for Community Living.

SCHWARTZ, "Cliff" Clifford Carl -Suddenly, in Kitchener, on Sunday, August 18, 2002, aged 64 years. Son of the late Gladys (Olinski) and Carl Schwartz. Loving brother of Lloyd (Pat) Schwartz of Wellesley, Mary (Gary) Rellinger of Waterloo; loved uncle of Thomas (Theresa) Schwartz, Randy Schwartz, Richard (Barb) Schwartz, Blake Schwartz (Cathy), Trevor (Tracy) Schwartz, Todd Rellinger, Tanya (Adam) Merrifield and great-uncle of Jason, Jessie, Dakota, Kolton, Keegan, Albert and Reiley; dear step-son of Mabel (Murawsky) Schwartz of Kitchener. Cliff retired from the W.C. Wood Co. Ltd., Guelph, on June 7, 2002, after 27 years. Cliff's family will receive their friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Cliff's life will be held in the chapel on Friday, August 23 at 2 p.m. Cremation with inurnment in Memory Gardens cemetery , Breslau. If so desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Kitchener and may be arranged at the funeral home.

LAVENDER, Dale - passed away peacefully, to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at Guelph General Hospital. Beloved husband of Margaret (Kerr) Lavender of Guelph. Predeceased by an infant brother and his parents. Dale was the former owner of Dalecraft Printing of Kitchener. Margaret will receive friends from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467) followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m., Pastor Ralph Rutledge officiating.
