PARRY, Russell John - Peacefully, at the Henderson Hospital, Hamilton on Wednesday, August 21, 2002. John Parry at the age of 62 years. Beloved husband for 41 years of Jean Parry. Cherished father of Ingrid Steffler (Nelson) of Guelph, Natalie Parry of Toronto and Nick Parry (Karen) of Corunna, Ont. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Keefe, Cody, Braydon and Kyler. Survived by his sister-in-law Sue Marks (Nigel) and his mother-in-law Marjorie Cocum all of England. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Rose. John enjoyed his sports and was active in starting the Minor Soccer Association in 1966 as well as a founding member of the Springfield Golf and Country Club. He was a long-standing member of Local Union 527, a loving partner, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Arrangements incomplete at this time and will be announced in the next edition. HORTOP, Jean Currie (nee Kirkwood) - Of Everton, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Thursday, August 22, 2002, in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband, the late Harry Hortop (1979). Beloved mother of Elizabeth and husband Fred Perkins of Kincardine and Nancy and husband Jim Wellington of Fonthill. Cherished grandmother of Carrie Perkins (Dave Baux), Peggy Perkins (Steve Jamrik), Emmi Perkins (Tim Steen) and Jon and Jill Wellington. "GiGi" will be sadly missed by Bailey, Ryan, Emma and Sophia. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Saturday), 6-9 p.m. A private family service will be held. Interment Everton cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society, 111 MacDonell St., Guelph N1H 2Z7 would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Jean Hortop in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph, Arboretum. Dedication service Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at 2:30 p.m.

Robert John "Bob" - (Ordained in 1950, St. George's Anglican Church, Guelph - Curate 1950-1953; St. David's Anglican Church, Welland, 1953-1958; St. John's Anglican Church, Niagara Falls, 1958-1967; St. Luke's Anglican Church, Burlington, 1967-1982; St. John's Anglican Cathedral, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Dean 1982 until retiring in 1991.) Peacefully, at Tansley Woods Long Term Care Facility in Burlington, Ont., on Saturday, July 20, 2002, Rev. Bob Blackwell of Burlington, age 76 years. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Richards) Blackwell. Cherished father of Mary Leigh Bryant and her fiance Dale Collins of Fergus and Jeff Blackwell and his wife Karen of Oakville. Loving grandfather of Cheryl Leigh, Jeffrey, Kyle and Brooke. Dear brother of Leigh; step-brother of Mary, Anne, Jim and Terry; brother-in-law of Dr. Burke and Anne Richards, Drs. Terry and Joanne Richards and Sandra and Robert Austin. Bob will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. GAMBLE, Robert Gordon - 'Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him, O Lord, And Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him." Robert Gordon (Bob) Gamble, July 7, 1931 - June 28, 2002. Bob loved and was loved by his wife and soulmate of 47 years, Jan; his children, Mark (Joanne) of Simcoe, Lori of Guelph and his sister, Eileen of Hamilton. Bob was the loving grandpa of Greg, Andrew and Shane. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Bob was a great uncle and friend to many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by many good friends and neighbours. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 10 a.m. Entombment at Marymount cemetery. A vigil for Bob will take place on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Joseph's Church Renovation Fund or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

KELLY, Paul Donnelly - After a brave and determined fight for life, died peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Wednesday, June 19, 2002. Paul Donnelly Kelly, in his 67th year, beloved husband of Marie (Norman) Kelly of Guelph. Loving father of Sean Kelly of Guelph, Paula Kelly and her husband Terry Nadasdi of Edmonton, Alta., Patty Hemsley and her husband Scott of Guelph and Sandy DeCorso and her husband Paul of Newmarket; proud grandfather of Emma, Ryan, Lucas and Will; dear brother of Leone and her husband Jack Callander of Toronto, Bonnie Davies of Saginaw, Michigan, Carla and her husband Jay Ertel of Chatham, Joe Kelly and his wife Pat of Orangeville and Jimmy Kelly of Kitchener and the late Barbara Delaney. Dear brother-in-law of Joe Delaney and the late Gord Davies. Survived by nieces and nephews. Paul was a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters UA Local 527. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph where the family will receive friends today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Paul will be held on Friday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment Marymount cemetery. MEYERS, Mary Theresa - passed away on Monday morning, June 24, 2002, at Headwaters Health Care Center in Orangeville, Ontario, at the age of 70 years, after months of long suffering. Dearly beloved wife of John B. Meyers of Orangeville, Ontario. Mother to five daughters and five sons, 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by daughters, Nancy-Marie (Andrew) Steele and their twin children David Lee and Nicole Lee of Guelph, Pat (Michael) Desrosiers and their children Mary and Mark of Ajax, Valarie (Michael) Penney and their daughter Jennifer of Bolton, Melanie Jean Meyers of Orangeville and Tammy Elaine Rose (Andrew) Sils of Collingwood and their three children. Sadly missed by her sons, Russell (Nancy) Meyers of Collingwood, and their two children Crystal and Tyler, by Roger Stephen (Marlene) Meyers and their four children of Collingwood, by John (Tammy) Meyers and their four children of Bramalea, by Tim (Helen) Meyers and their children Crystal and the twins Rick and Willy and the great-grandchildren of Palmerston and by Jeremy Meyers and his son Nicholas of Orangeville. Sister-in-law to Lois Meyers of Guelph. Sister to Harold Laxton of Alton, Ontario. Dear Mom: Your sweet comforting love will live on forever in our hearts. We will love you always. Beloved wife of the late Everett Muldoon and the late William Smith. Sister-in-law of Pauline Lowden; step-mother of Fran and husband Fred Tippin and aunt of Maureen Glassford and daughter Sarah, Cheryl and husband Rick Upfold and Edward (Ted) Lowden and wife Margaret and their families. Daughter of the late Oscar G. and Lily Rose (nee French) Lowden and sister of the late Edward Lowden. Funeral service will be held at St. David-St. Patrick's Anglican Church, 520 Speedvale Ave. E., Guelph, Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation followed by interment in Holy Cross cemetery , Thornhill. OLIVERI, Michael Anthony "Olive" - Passed away, after a valiant fight with cancer, at Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, June 27, 2002, Michael Anthony Oliveri, in his 19th year, was the much loved son of Erminio and Marlene Oliveri. He was the loving brother of Melinda. Michael is survived by his maternal grandfather, Nicola DiLello and his partner Regina, by his two uncles, Gino Oliveri and his wife Cathy and Dino DiLello and his wife Marianne and by his two aunts, Emilia DiLoreto and her partner John and Gina Caravaggio and her husband John. He is lovingly remembered by his cousins. The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Friday, June 28 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Michael will be held at the funeral home today (Friday) at 4 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. Interment , Marymount cemetery , Guelph. TAYLOR, Patricia Eileen - Passed away, at Lapointe-Fisher Nursing Home, Guelph, Wednesday, June 12, 2002, in her 93rd year. Beloved daughter of the late Emma (nee Titchener) and the late Joseph George Taylor. Survived by sister-in-law, Gwen of England; loved aunt of Robert (Marian) Taylor of AnnaMarie Is., Fla., Bill (Fran) Taylor of Guelph and Pat (John) Harvey of Mississauga. Also survived by many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Edward, Harry and George and sister, Vera. Cremation. Beloved mother of Janice Rosman (Michael) of Montreal and Gary Burnstein (Frimmy) of Oakville. Cherished Bubbie/Nana of David, Jill, Jonathan, Kim and Robbie. Great-grandmother of Ben and Hailey. Survived by sisters Ida Shendelman of Toronto and Sally Robinson of Kingston. Services will be held from the Beth Isaiah Synagogue, Surrey & Dublin Streets, Guelph, on Friday, July 5 at 2 p.m., with Cantor Haskell Bahar officiating. MELANSON, Daniel James - Died, suddenly on his land, on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, in his 37th year. Dan was a passionate farmer and valued employee of Sybase Canada for 6 years. Best friend and husband of Janet Spies for 8 years; dear daddy of Riley and Emma Melanson. Sadly missed by parents, Patrick and Barbara Melanson and his brother, Michael. Also missed by his parents-in-law, Lyle (Butch) and Beth Spies. Dan will be fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends.
