GEMMELL, Hazel Pauline - Passed away, at the Elliott Home, Guelph, on Monday, December 23, 2002. Hazel (Hildenbrand) Gemmell, at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Kennth Gemmel. Mother of the late Jo-Anne Croft. Grandmother of Jeff Croft of Guelph. Dear sister of Marie McPhail of Haliburton and Vern Hildenbrand of Lindsay. Predeceased by her brothers, William, George and Conrad Hildenbrand. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Gilchrist Chapel - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031).

HOHENADEL, Ellen - Passed away, peacefully, on December 21, 2002, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Joe (1986). Loved mother of Don, Mary-Lou and Randy. She will be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Fred and Henry MacGibbon. Predeceased by grandchildren, Joseph and Jimmy. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will follow at a later date.

ROSS, John Kenneth - In his 76th year. Passed away, suddenly, at Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002. Beloved husband of the late Elena (1994). Will be fondly missed by his son, Bruce (and Arden) and by his daughter, Michelle (and Dave). Loving grandfather of David Ross. Survived by his brother, Duncan and his sister, Kaye. BONNEVILLE, Stephen James - Suddenly, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Saturday, December 21, 2002. Stephen Bonneville, at the age of 47 years. Beloved husband of Evelyn (Bendfeld). Dear father of Kevin (Shannon Sepers) and Kyle (Jean Anderson), all of Guelph. Loved grandfather of Nicholas Andre Stephen Bonneville. Sadly missed by his parents, Ron and Betty Bonneville of Guelph; his sister, Debra Huether (Bud) of Morriston; his brothers, Joseph of Richmond Hill and James (Betty) of Guelph. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandparents, Laura and Oswald Reading, Margaret and Emery Bonneville. Stephen was an employee at Donmar Welding and Fabrication in Wellesley and enjoyed being a Disc Jockey for more than 12 years. CARLETON, Clara (Mickey) (nee Given) - Of Guelph, passed away, at her residence, Wednesday, December 18, 2002, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack (Pete) Carleton (1966). Loved mother of Audrey Blacklock and Marnie Frank, both of Guelph, Jack (Diane) Carleton of Kitchener, Bea Bahr (Gary Field) of Guelph, Jim (Lori) Carleton of Calgary, George (Sharon) Carleton of Etobicoke. Loving grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Marguerite Sharpe and Audrey (Bob) Reek, all of Guelph. Clara was a former employee of the Guelph General Hospital for 24 years and a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Friday) (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Saturday, December 21, 2002, at 11 a.m. Interment Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph. (Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre). BURTON, Winnifred Elizabeth (nee Ashbridge) - Peacefully, in Toronto, on December 18, 2002. Born on March 31, 1907 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba to Florence Mabel and Wellington Thomas Ashbridge. Predeceased by her loving husband, Carman Edgar Burton and by her beloved sister, Dorothy Bullen. Cherished stepmother of Douglas and Linda Burton of Mount Hope. Dear grandmother to Bruce and Linda, Murray and Donna and Allan. Dear great-grandmother Betty to Devan and Kelsey. Betty will also be fondly remembered by her cousins and their families. Betty was a talented musician. She was much loved by family and friends. Services to be held at Kew Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Avenue (just north of Queen St. E.), Toronto on Saturday, December 21, 2002 at 2 o'clock. CHALMERS, Patricia (Pat) - Suddenly, following a lengthy battle with diabetes and heart disease, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, in Fergus, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, Pat Chalmers (nee Dixon), in her 68th year. Beloved wife of Ross of Guelph (formerly of North Bay). Loving mother of Wayne and his wife Patti of Trout Creek, Paul and his wife Mimi of Kitchener and Brenda and her husband Steve Rogers of Palmerston. Dearest grandmother of Shawn, Chance, Jadie, Shane, Ethan, Katie, Timothy, Brox and Taylor. Dear sister of Bob and his wife Betty Dixon. Sister-in-law of Eleanor Dixon. Pat will also be loved by a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. Predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Chalmers; sister, Louise Ruderman and brother, Elliott Dixon and parents, Gordon and Mary Dixon. Friends will be received at Graham A. PEAKER, Lillian Margaret - At Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, December 19, 2002. Lillian Margaret (Buss) Peaker, age 67 years, was the beloved wife of the late Norman Peaker (1990) and the loving companion of Bill Montgomery of Guelph. Survived by her children, Bruce Peaker and his wife Faye, Susan Fegan and her husband Ron Gilmar, Christine Hall and her husband Doug Hall and Craig Peaker. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, December 23, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation. Loving mother of Barb and her husband Chris Smith of Cambridge, Nancy and her husband Michael Muszynski of Toronto and Gwen and her husband Tom Buck of Guelph. Dear Grandma Pat of Jason, Jeff, Ryan, Alex, Cam, Leanne and Evan. Predeceased by her brother, Bill Pattison. MARDLING, Harry David George - Passed away, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 78th year. He was born in Chatham, Ont. Beloved husband of Mae E. (McDonald) for 59 years. Father of Bonnie of Guelph, David and his wife Betty; devoted PaPa to Kimberley and Jacqueline Mardling, all of Cambridge; brother of Margaret and her husband Sidney Brown of London. Also surviving, nieces, Leah Ann McMullin and Beth Gander; nephew, Jay and his wife Elaine and children Ryan and Laura McMullin, all of Chatham and nephew, Wayne Brown and his son Stuart of Burn Lake, B.C. Harry was Drum Major with the Chatham Kiltie Concert Band for 25 years, a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Cambridge, a lifetime member of Guelph Wellington Association for Community Living, Fraternal member of Preston Masonic Lodge No. 297 and past master of Parthenon Lodge No. 267 of Chatham and a member of the Preston-Hespeler Probus Club. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving in the Canadian Army and saw action in Europe with the Essex Scottish of Windsor and also served with the Occupation in Germany with the 3rd Battalion of the H.L.I. of Galt, Ont. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 567 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. with Canon David Bowyer officiating. Interment at a later date at Park Lawn cemetery , Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Lung Association or St. John's Anglican Church Memorial Fund would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Barthel Funeral Home, Cambridge, 653-3251.

McGARRY, James - At St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph, on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002. James McGarry, in his 76th year, was the beloved husband of Kitty (Gudewitz) McGarry of Guelph. Loving father of Doreen Dales and her husband Jim and Kevin and Andrea McGarry, all of Guelph. Dear grandfather of nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at the chapel of Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Thursday, December 19, 2002 (today). Dearest grandmother of Helen, Gillian, Sarah, Michael, Jane and Christopher and also loved by 11 great-grandchildren.
