LAROCQUE, Hermine Amanda - passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, December 29, 2002. Hermine (Prieur) Larocque at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Cyprien Larocque (1977). Loving mother of Rolande Nault (Larry) of Chelmsford, Cyril (Margaret) of Guelph, Pauline Raymond (Chester) of Barrie, Edmond (Colleen) of Coniston, Yvette Majerus (Dennis) of Valcaron, Hector "Vic" (Christine) of Guelph, Aurele "Lee" (Christine) of Garson and Rheal "Ray" (Beverly) of Guelph. Cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all her friends at the Heritage House, Guelph where she has lived for the past eight years. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday). Vigil prayers for Hermine on Monday at 8:30 p.m. Service at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at 10 a.m. with Father Ted Hughes officiating. Interment Marymount cemetery. HAWKINS, Doris (nee Bond) - Peacefully, on Saturday, November 9, 2002, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus. Beloved wife of Thomas E. Hawkins of Fergus; loving mother of Thomas C. Hawkins and his wife Margaret of Guelph, Faybian and her husband Jack Rawn of Guelph and Christopher Hawkins and his wife Susan of Fergus. Dear grandmother of Marianne and her husband Anthony Martini, Kevin Hawkins and his wife Debi and Adrienne Rawn. Great-grandmother of Alexander Hawkins. Survived by her brother, Earnest Bond of Mount Forest. Predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Toop, Herbert Bond, Ellen Argo, Charles Bond and Laura Currie. Friends will be received at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's RC Church, Fergus on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mary Mount cemetery , Guelph. TALBOT, Margaret, Mary - passed away peacefully with her family, on November 15, 2002, at Toronto East General Hospital. Dearly beloved daughter of Murray and June Talbot; loving sister of Trish Wood and her husband Brian of Warkworth, Ontario; cherished aunt of Julia and Ian. She will be fondly remembered by an uncle, her aunts, cousins and many close friends. Friends and family may call at the Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge St., Peterborough, on Tuesday, November 19 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, November 20, at 1 p.m., with interment to follow at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Toronto East General Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit where she spent the last 15 years of her nursing career.

BURRI, Henry - Peacefully, on December 24, 2002, in Owen Sound, in his 93rd year. Born in New York City, son of Swiss immigrants, he grew up in Montreal and graduated with a P.Eng. from McGill University. Former Vice President and General Manager of Canadian Carborundum Limited, Niagara Falls, Ontario and Canada Sandpapers Limited, Plattsville. His fishing, stock market investing and 5 p.m. (or earlier) happy hours are legendary. Beloved husband of the late Bernice Burri (nee Cowan). Brother of Lily and her late husband Alex Cowan. Sadly missed by his children, Susan and her husband Paul Carrothers of London, Ont., Richard and his wife Sandra Burri of Toronto and Tom and his wife Edna Burri of Owen Sound. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Susan and her husband John Barber of Guelph, Michelle and her husband Jeff Sziklai of Owen Sound, Michael Burri, Scott Burri and Alison Burri, all of Toronto. Great-grandfather of Christopher and Megan Barber. Dear friend of Margo Mackenzie of Owen Sound. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home for visitation at 11 a.m. on December 29, 2002 followed by a service at 12 noon. SHIELDS, Melvin George - Of Guelph, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital, Saturday, November 16, 2002, in his 55th year. Beloved father of Patricia and Steve Rudd, Christine Shields and Ernie Shields. Loved brother of Doug, Ernie and Brian Shields. Dear loving campion of Ruth Welch. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Agnes Shields and brothers, Alex and Robert. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Tuesday) 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at 3:00 p.m.. PILON, Leonard Godfrey - Suddenly, at St. Luke's Place, Cambridge, on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Laura Pilon and the late Christina Pilon. Loving father of Eric and his wife Frances of Burlington, Brian and his wife Sandra of Ariss, David and his wife Judy of Fergus, Alan and his wife Margaret of Barrie, Eileen and her husband Kris of Virginia and step-father of Trevor Bailey and his wife Colleen at Freelton, and Steven Bailey and his wife Cathy of Cambridge. He will be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister, Rita Morgan and her husband Terry of Ottawa and his sister, Claire Bellefeiulle. Predeceased by his brother-in-law, Felix Bellefeiulle. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph where the family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 2nd, 2003 from 1-2 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

OCCOMORE, Arthur William "Hawkeye" - At St. Joseph's Health Center, Guelph, on Friday, November 15, 2002. Art "Hawkeye" Occomore, age 90 years, was the beloved husband of Mary (Gilmartin) Occomore of Guelph. Loving father of Marti and her husband Mick Sharpe of Guelph, Maura and her husband Digby Campbell of Cambridge and Mike Occomore and his wife Bev of Burlington. Dear grandfather of Rory, Brennan, Cailin and Braden. Art was predeceased by his two brothers, Harry and Roland. Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at the St. Joseph's Health Centre Auditorium, 100 Westmount Rd., Guelph on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Beloved son of the late Bessie (Barber) Breese and the late Les and Rieki Copeman. Loved brother of Florence (Al) McLean of Guelph and the late Mary, Elsie and Bob. Dear brother-in-law of Jean Copeman. Loving uncle of John McLean and children Danielle and Samantha of Toronto, Steven Copeman, Robin Reeves, Larry and Lynda Copeman and children, Michele, Kevin and Tracey. Also survived by his good friend, Peter. Predeceased by his dear friend, John Beale. DeJONG, Neeltje Klazina "Nell" - At the Holland Christian Homes, in Brampton, on Sunday, November 17, 2002. Nell (den Hoed) De Jong, at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Willem "Bill" De Jong (2000). Special mother of Jeane Da Maren and her husband Robert of Guelph and Toni Day and her fiance Dave Ballingall of Drayton. Loved Oma of David Da Maren (Allison) of Burlington and Liana Da Maren of Guelph. Loving Great-Oma of Nathan, Elizabeth and Andrew. Always remembered by her nieces and nephews in Holland. Predeceased by her sister, Klazina and brothers, Arie and Niko. Nell and her late husband Bill spent many years farming in Holland and Canada, then spent several winters in Florida following retirement. DUKELOW, Eileen Elizabeth - of Guelph (formerly of Prescott, Ontario). On Sunday, November 10, 2002, Eileen E. (Barton) Dukelow, age 88 years, beloved wife of C. Donald Dukelow, for 62 years. Loving mother of John and wife Cathy of Mississauga and Bill and wife Belle of Guelph. Grandmother of Jeff, Tracey, Bennett and Mackenzie. Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Ida Barton; sister, Edna Bronchetti and brothers, Franklin and Cleland Barton. Special aunt to Rosemyrtle McLouglin of Ogdensberg, New York. Former captain of the Prescott Womens Hockey Team in the 1930's. Eileen first put skis on in 1979, at the tender age of 65. She went on to accomplish most of the runs at Blue Mountain, Collingwood. She will be lovingly remembered for her tenacity for life as she cheated death on numerous occasions during her 88 years. At her request Eileen's remains have been cremated and there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the CNIB, 1929 Bayview Ave., Toronto M4G 3E8 would be very much appreciated. BUCK, Mrs. Clara (nee Kuenzig) - Peacefully, at Sunnyside Home, in Kitchener, on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in her 102nd year. Clara was a member of St. Mary's RC Church and had been employed with Forsyth Company for many years. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy Maxwell Buck on February 10, 1994. Survived by her brothers, John Kuenzig and his wife Marg of Sarnia and Fred Kuenzig and his wife Esther of New Hamburg. Remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her parents, William Kuenzig and the former Annie Knoll; six brothers, William, Seraphim (Slim), Alex, Alvin (Buster), George, Frank and sister, Marie. Visitation will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, 745-9495 today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where parish prayers will be held at 3:30 p.m. Prayers will be offered from the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary's RC Church at 10:30 a.m. Reception will follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Interment in Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the CNIB.

WIPPICH, Rossella (nee D'ambrino) - Died, peacefully, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, November 18, 2002, at 38 years of age. Rossella Wippich, loving wife of Anthony Wippich; dear mother of Alex and Craig Wippich; sadly missed by her loving parents, Luigi and Anna D'ambrino; fondly remembered by her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wippich; dear sister to Patrizia Spurgeon and her husband Thomas, Carlo D'ambrino and his wife Danielle; fondly remembered by her nephews, Zachary Sararena, Joshua Spurgeon and Ethan D'ambrino and brother-in-law, Richard Wippich. Rossella was a teacher within the Region with the Catholic School Board, she will always be remembered by fellow teachers and many students. She will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. You are invited to call at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St. Kitchener (742-4481), today (Tuesday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 10:15 a.m. transfer will then be made to St. Aloysius RC Church for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Father Jerry Craig, O.F.M. CAP officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery , Kitchener. Donations to the Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy by the family.
