POWELL, Brian Roger - At Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, Brian Powell, of Southampton, in his 73rd year. Former owner of Powell Distributing. Beloved husband of Margaret Powell (nee Spikman) of Southampton. Dear father of Thomas and his wife Lynn of St. Catharines, Sharon Powell and her husband Henry House of Brighton, Michael of Toronto and to Donald Van Delft and Wendy, both of Morriston, Karen Van Delft and Bill Knetsch of Aberfoyle and Sue Tallevi and Stephen of Toronto. Dear brother-in-law of Rose Vanderweit, Anne Spikman, Jim Vandergaast and his wife Tonnie, Alice and her husband John Farnworth and Richard Spikman and his wife Sonja. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his granddaughters, Jamie-Lee, Alysha, Kristi and Rose. Predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Powell; by his grandson, Justin; by his brother-in-law, Clare Spikman and by his sister-in-law, Hennie Vandergaast. Cremation. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton, on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 from 2-4 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Brian's life will be conducted at the Mount Carmel Zion United Church, Morriston, on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow at the church. Interment of ashes, at a later date, Coningsby cemetery. Expressions of remembrance to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice.

KEMPER, Andreas "Andy" - passed away suddenly, at his home in Guelph, on Wednesday, November 13, 2002. Andreas "Andy" Kemper, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Janny (Oosterling) Kemper of Guelph. Dear father of Andy Kemper of Kaladen, B.C., Jack Kemper (Michelle) of Guelph and Dora Yackel (Greg) of Calgary, Alberta. Cherished Opa of Ashton. Sadly missed by his sister, Dora Kemper and brother, Bert Kemper, both of Holland. Andy was a retired Guelph Correctional Centre Guard and a member of the Dutch Legion of Hamilton. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday). Service at the Emmanuel Canadian Reformed Church, 44 Short Street, Guelph, on Monday, November 18 at 11 a.m., with Pastor John VanWoudenberg officiating. Interment Woodlawn cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Building Fund of the Emmanuel Canadian Reformed Church would be appreciated.

SYLGE, Walter Hans - Peacefully, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at the Community Nursing Home, in Port Perry, at age 88. Walter Sylge, formerly of Scugog Island, beloved husband of the late Elise (nee Ehrlich). Loved father of Herbert Sylge and Irmgard Sanderson, both of England, Charles Sylge of Waterloo and Margaret Scott of Blackstock. Walter will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A private service to celebrate the life of Walter Sylge was held in the chapel at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby on Friday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Susan Sheen officiating, followed by interment in the cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque through the Wagg Funeral Home, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) to the CNIB.

DE STEFANO, Angelo - Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre, on Friday, November 22, 2002. Beloved husband of the late Assunta De Stefano (April 26, 1998). Loved father of Stella and her late husband Ralph Tassone, Biagio and his wife Angela, Carmela and her husband Angelo Furfaro, Sam and his wife Angela and Frank and his wife Darlene, all of Guelph. Dear grandfather of Sam, Rosie, Angelo, Susie, Frank, Tony, Violet, Marianne, Rob, Susie, Angelo, Joanne, Scott, Frank and Tina, all of Guelph. Will be missed by his great-grandchildren. STIRLING, Mary Edna - Of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Jim Stirling. Loved mother of Robert (Kathie) Stirling and Richard (Lesley) Stirling, all of Guelph. Loving grandmother of Chelsea, Ryan, Kyle, Joel and Owen. Dear sister of Donald and Kenneth Douglas. Predeceased by sisters, Jessie Ray and Lucille Reid. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St. Guelph, today (Friday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel, Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. McILVENA, Laurie Lee - After a courageous battle with cancer, passed away, Christmas morning in hospital in Moncton, N.B. Laurie Lee worked as a Lieutenant at the Guelph Correctional Centre and moved to her hometown, Amherst, N.S. in May 2001. A memorial service will be held in Guelph (date yet to be determined). Donations in her honour to the Guelph Humane Society would be appreciated. To my friends in Guelph. I had to go ahead to await you. I spent many happy and memorable years with you, and can only say thank you for being born in my lifetime. I shall miss you all very much, and don't forget to remember me and our loving times. Survived by many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Lila Jackson, Gladys McKinnon, Edna Love and Mabel Pallister. A private service will be held at Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 with Rev. Herb Gale officiating. Interment Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph. BYRNE, Sister Dorothy IBVM - It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Sister Dorothy, at Loretto Abbey Infirmary, Toronto, on Monday evening, January 6, 2003. Sister of Mary Heffernan of Guelph and aunt of Joanne and Patrick of Guelph and Barbara of Durham. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Mabel Byrne of Toronto. Sister Dorothy was an accomplished pianist, having played at Massey Hall. She taught piano for many decades and was the organist at the Abbey, playing at all masses and celebrations. For the last year, Sister Dorothy suffered from Lou Gehrig's Disease but passed away peacefully with family and many Loretto sisters at her side. Sister celebrated 50 years in the convent on August 5, 2001.

Beloved husband of the late Bernedette (Epoch) Goetz. Dear brother of Kathleen Hasson and her husband James of RR 7, Guelph and Dorothy Riech and her husband Wilf of Guelph; brother-in-law of Deanne Goetz of RR 7, Guelph and Evelyn Goetz of Moorefield. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Norman and Leonard Goetz. Friends may call at the Hendrick Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Prayer Vigil for Charlie will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Kenilworth on Friday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. Spring interment at Sacred Heart cemetery , Kenilworth. (May) (McMullen) Harrietha (1995). He was the loving father of Andy and his wife Lisa, George and his wife Darlene, Bill and his wife Kathy, Nancy Harrietha and Mary and her husband Paul Chisholm, all of Guelph. Proud grandfather of Dustin, Kaleigh, Andrew, Jacklyn, Max, Beatrice, Avery and Jakob. KEHL, Della - A longtime resident of Guelph, at Brantford General Hospital, on Tuesday, January 7, 2003. Della, beloved wife of the late Gordon Kehl (1991). Loving mother of Lois Kehl and her husband David Byron; cherished grandmother of Mark and Janet Lovelock; dear sister of Dwight Boyd and his wife Kerstin. Della will be sadly missed by her many family and friends.
