BAMPTON, Anna Antonietta (nee Di Pietro) In loving memory of Anna Antonietta Bampton (nee Di Pietro), 50 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Sunday, August 17th, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. She was born in Sudbury and married Wayne Bampton in 1975 in Sudbury. A life resident of Sudbury, Anna was a devout Roman Catholic who attended Holy Trinity Church and she had belonged to the parish C.W.L. Well known and respected at INCO. Anna worked at various departments retiring from salary administration in 2002 due to failing health with 30 years service. She enjoyed travelling and she had a great appreciation for the beauty of flowers. She will be remembered as an outgoing person whose "bubbly" personality was a burst of sunshine to all who knew her. Anna was devoted to her family always a supportive daughter, loving wife and dedicated mother. A light of her love will continue to shine as a bright star in God's Heaven. BERTRAND, Harry J. In loving memory of Harry J. Bertrand, 71 years, of Levack, who passed away Friday evening, August 22nd, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Born in Sudbury, he married Myrna (Cole) in 1953 in Sturgeon Falls. Born and raised in Sudbury, Harry has lived in Levack for the past 49 years. He was a miner at the Levack Mine having 39 years with INCO, retiring in 1992. He was a former member of the Levack/ Onaping Elks Lodge. An avid golfer, he was a well known and liked member of the Onaping Golf Club. He almost golfed daily until failing health prevented him from enjoying his most favourite past time. He had a green thumb which grew beautiful flowers. Harry had a passion for Christmas, especially decorating his home. A real people person, he generously shared his gift of conversation with all he met. As the Christmas Star proclaims God's light coming into this world, Harry's light will continue to shine in the hearts of his loving family and many friends. BURNS, Roland Alfred "Rollie" 1921 - 2003 In loving memory of Roland A. Burns, 82 years of age, who passed away Saturday morning, August 23, 2003 at the Algoma Manor, Thessalon. Rollie was born and raised in Chapleau, son of Jean N. Burns and Alberta (Lafrance) Burns, both predeceased. Loving brother of Marion Brabant (late Leo) of Windsor, Beatrice Burns (late Emile) of Ottawa, Lorraine Bradley (late Lionel) of Sudbury, Yvette Fortin (late Raoul) of North Bay and Joseph Raymond "Butch" (Huguette) of Hanmer. Predeceased by his brothers John I. (Yvonne of London), Gerard "Gerry" (Evelyn Somers of Sudbury) and Patrick. Special and loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. Rollie spent most of his life in Chapleau and was a conductor for Canadian Pacific Railway. He leaves a rich legacy of love and devotion to his family who will always cherish the memory of great times at his camp on Mulligan's Bay. He was born in Colfax, Saskatchewan and married Jessie (nee Leslie) in 1945 in Sudbury. Bill came to Sudbury in 1940 from Saskatchewan. He was a plate worker at the Copper Cliff Refinery retiring in 1982 with 42 years at INCO. He had been a member of the Mine Mill & Smelter's Workers' Union Local 598. A proud Canadian he served in the Canadian Army during WWII as a paratrooper. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #564 Lockerby. He was a member of the Lively Golf Club; the Coniston Curling Club and the Sudbury District Recreation Association. Beloved husband of Jessie (nee Leslie) Cryderman of Sudbury. Loving father of Terry (wife Linda) of Fernie, B.C., Fern (husband Dennis O'Neill) of Hanmer, Neil (wife Anne) and Carolyn (husband Dan Seguin) both of Sudbury. DEGIOSA, Francesca "Franka" (Nee Santa Maria) In loving memory of Francesca "Franka" DeGiosa (nee Santa Maria), 67 years of Sudbury who passed away Thursday afternoon, August 14th, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born in Palo del Colle Bari, Italy and married Vincenzo DeGiosa in 1961 in Italy. Francesca came to Sudbury in 1969 from Italy. A Roman Catholic she belonged to St. Anthony's Church. An excellent cook she worked at various local restaurants including Peter Piper, Trevi, Sorrento, Cedar Hut, Bud's Diner and she owned and operated Franka's Place for a couple of years prior to heart surgery. She retired in 1991. Her delicious meals were appreciated by many Sudburians. Francesca was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Vincenzo DeGiosa of Sudbury. June was a well respected and well liked member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #179, Capreol having served as branch president. She was also a member of the branch's Ladies Auxiliary. She had been a volunteer with the regional police auxiliary. She enjoyed travelling, bowling, playing cards and the outdoors. June will be remembered as an ever faithful family member and friend.
