RATCLIFF, Douglas Paul "Rats" In loving memory of Douglas Paul "Rats" Ratcliff, 50 years, who passed away Thursday morning, August 14th, 2003 at the Elizabeth Centre, Val Caron, following a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.
Douglas Paul "Rats" Ratcliff was born in Braceridge, Ontario and lived all his life in the Capreol/Hanmer areas.
He worked at C.N.R. retiring early due to his failing health.
Rats was a well known Capreol resident and played hockey for several Capreol leagues in his youth.
Though he was a quiet man, he was an avid Montreal Canadian Fan and often times a "traiilor" Fan to the Toronto Maple Leaf Team.
He enjoyed watching movies, his favorites being old John Wayne "The Duke" movies.
He was devoted to his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Beloved husband of Annette (Ferguson) Ratcliff of Hanmer.

RESCORLA, Brian Gordon Brian Gordon Rescorla, 56, died August 20, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site.
He was born March 31, 1947, in South Porcupine General Hospital to Howard "Rusty" and Gurney Rescorla and grew up in Schumacher and Timmins.
A graduate of Timmins High and Vocational School, he later attended Brigham Young University.
On September 4, 1969, Brian married Donna Peterson in Mesa, Ariz.
He was predeceased by his mother Gurney in 1990, his father Rusty in 1998 and his son Matthew Brian in 1976.
He is survived by his son Christopher Gordon of Montreal, his daughter Maren Elizabeth (Shawn) Hanson and his beloved grandson Ryder Heath Hanson, all of Sudbury, and his wife Donna of Snowflake, Ariz.
He was a resident of Sudbury for the past 3 years and had lived in Timmins for the previous 19 years.
Funeral Visitation at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. on Thursday, August 28th, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment in the Civic cemetery on Friday at 1 p.m.

SCHMIDT, Gaye Laura In loving memory of Gaye Laura Schmidt, 56 years, who passed away Friday evening, August 15th, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site, surrounded by her family.
Born in Kitchener, she graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1969, she furthered her education with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Education.
Gaye was a wonderful teacher at Cambrian College since 1976.
She was an active member of the Beta Sign Phi (Laureate Beta Gamma Chapter) for many years.
She had a passion for dancing, country music and painting Folk Art Painted-Paws.
She was an avid supporter of the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra.
Gaye enjoyed gardening, flowers and fishing.
The center of her life was her family and she especially loved her nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Drs. Ravi, Hortevenko, Shoemaker and Marti, the Cardiac Rehab Centre and the nurses at the Memorial Site C.C.A. Unit, especially the kind care of former students.

Born in Swan Plain, Saskatchewan he married Rose in Sudbury 60 years ago.
They lived as a team and their love and devotion defined a wonderful marriage. John was a Miner at INCO for over 30 years, retiring in 1983.
He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Epiphany, often referred to as an honourary A.C.W. for his legendary coffee and tea making skills.
Rose and he were well known "angels" of Square Dancing helping start many new clubs.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed carpentry. John will be remembered as a good living, strong man who shared his love with all, especially his beloved grandchildren.

He enjoyed spending time at his camp on Lake Nipissing.
