GARROW, Gordon C. - In hospital Pembroke on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 in his 87th year. Gordon Clyde Garrow of Deep River, dearly loved husband and best friend for 54 years of Jean Garrow (nee Griffith). Son of the late John and Carol Garrow (nee Carswell)and will be sadly missed by all his family. By request there will be no funeral home visitation. Graveside Service was held at the Beechwood cemetery , Ottawa on Thursday, August 3rd at 3:00pm. As an expression of sympathy donations to the North Renfrew Long Term Care Facility, Deep River or to St. Barnabas Church, Deep River would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements by the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.

Scott, Danny Brian

Scott, Danny Brian suddenly at Deep River on Wednesday, August 2, 2000. Danny Scott age 52 years. Beloved son of the late Pat and Harry Scott. Dear brother of Susan (Mrs. Rick Rain) and Lori Scott both of Ottawa; Mark Scott and Warren Scott both of Deep River. Also survived by 1 Niece Jackie Scott and 1 Nephew Nick Scott. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service will be conducted in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Tuesday, August 8 at 11:00 A.M. MURRAY, Norman

Norm Murray of Salmon Arm, B.C. formerly of Deep River from July 1946 to May 1980. passed away on July 22,2000 in his 83rd year. Survived by his beloved wife, Doris, daughters, Judy Murray (Blaine Carson), Joan Murray Kehr (Warren Kehr), grandson Mark Carson and brother, John Murray of Toronto. An in memoriam donation to the Shuswap Hospital, Box 2251, Salmon Arm, BC. V1E 4R3 would be appreciated.

David Cameron McLauchlan

After a brief illness at Sarnia General Hospital, David Cameron McLauchlan, age 60, of Sarnia and formerly of Deep River and South Africa. After several years in the mining industry, he emigrated to Canada and most recently was employed at the Hiawatha race-track in Sarnia. Beloved husband of Pam (Staniforth) McLauchlan, stepfather of Keith, predeceased by his sister Sheila Hilborn, dear brother-in-law of John Hilborn and uncle to Eric, Cameron and Susan.
The funeral service was held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line (Golden Mile), Sarnia on Monday, July 17, 2000 at 11 a.m. Cremation followed. Friends were received at Smith Funeral Home Sunday afternoon 2-4 p.m. Sympathy through donations to Sarnia and District Association for Community Living would be appreciated.

COLLINS, Elizabeth (Betty)

At Marianhill Palliative Care Unit on Monday, July 3rd, 2000 in her 79th year.
Betty Collins (nee Morison) beloved wife and best friend of 62 years of J. Harris (Harry) Collins. Dear mother of Peter Collins (Diane), Atlanta, GA; Kelly Collins (Barbara), Ottawa and Susan Collins (Tim Deslippe), Carleton Place. Loved grandmother of Jeff, Vicki, Jamie, Katy and Scott. Daughter of the late William & Gertrude Morison. Sister to Gwen Hamilton (husband John B.), Toronto. Survived by nieces Lyn & Cheryl Hamilton. At the families request there will be no visitation or service. (As an expression of sympathy donations to the Marianhill Alzheimers Unit would be appreciated.) Visitation was at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass of Christian Burial was at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Deep River on Thursday, July 6th, 2000 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary's cemetery , Deep River. MILLER: Ida Maria (Tuutijarvi)

Peacefully at North Renfrew Long-term Care Centre, Deep River, on Monday, July 10, 2000 in her 94th year. Ida Miller beloved wife of the late Kenneth Miller (1991). Survived by sisters-in-law Reta Miller, Evelyn Wallace and brother-in-law Allen Miller (Jean) all of Renfrew, and sister-in-law Una Miller of Cobden. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her friends and extended family at the North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Tuesday from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. Funeral service was conducted in the Chapel on Tuesday, July 10 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Ruth Syme officiating. Followed by Cremation. In memoriam donations to North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre, Deep River would be gratefully appreciated.

Caring grandmother of Gail Geddis-Bell (Donald) of North Bay, Laurie Inglis (Dennis) and Robert Watt of Surrey, BC. Caring great grandmother of Erin Inglis, Brooklyn and Bronson Watt, and Caitlin and Paige Bell. Visitation at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Tuesday from 2:30-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Deep River on Wednesday, July 12th, 2000 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Mary's cemetery , Deep River. JONES, Geraldine (née Burnette)

The family announces with sorrow her death, May 18th, 2000 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital (St. Joseph's Health Centre), at the age of 69 years. She lived for the last 25 years in Dowling. Dear daughter of Hubert and Katie Burnette both predeceased of Arnprior. Wife of the late Denis Jones. Loving mother of Kathryn (Mrs. Rodney Nelson) of Richmond Hill and Denis (wife Kim) of Kitchener. Dear sister of Doris Johnson (husband Bill, predeceased) of Carleton Place. Predeceased by her brothers Desmond (wife Reta) of Almonte, Donald Brunette (wife Sandy) of Kingston. Lovingly remembered by her partner Bob Feltham of Dowling. Cherished grandmother of Julie-Ann, Keri-Lynn, Curtis, Shane, Taylor, Landon and Keaton. Sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and many friends. Mrs. Jones was an associate member of the Onaping Falls Legion Branch 503, Onaping. Geraldine loved to travel especially to the Ottawa area to visit with family and friends. The family received friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 R.R. 15, CHELMSFORD, Sunday, May 21st, 2000, from 2-4pm and 7-9:30pm. Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, May 22nd, 2000, at 1:30pm, in St. Stevens Church, Dowling. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. In honoring "Gerri's" last wishes, the final committal will be held, Saturday, July 8th, 2000, at 11:00am in the Deep River cemetery , Deep River, Ontario. All relatives and friends of Gerri are invited to attend this last celebration of her life.

ARMSTRONG, Robert James

Formerly of Deep River in St. Catharines on June 27, 2000, in his 88 year. Survived by wife, Mildred son Ken and family. Predeceased by daughter Gwenneth. Memorial service was held June 29, 2000 in St. Catharines.

Earle Leslie CASSELMAN

Funeral Service was conducted at St. Andrews Church, Chalk River, on Saturday, June 10th, 2000 at 1 P.M. for the late Earle Leslie Casselman. Earle was in his 92nd year. He is survived by his beloved wife the former Marion MacDonald were married for over 62 years, his dear son Byron and his wife Delores of Mattawa. Dearly missed by his two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his father and mother; Mahlon Casselman and the former May Alice Hunter. Earle was employed with the Bank of Montreal for over 47 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 53 years. Friends and relatives called at the Church on Friday. Funeral service was conducted on Saturday at 1 P.M. with the Reverend Cory Cuthbert officiating. Interment took place in the family plot of the Forestview cemetery , Chalk River. Pallbearers were: Kevin Waito, John Barrington, Walter Dufoe, Charles Dunham, Perry Delguidice and Tom Tennant. Earle was an active member of his community and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family of the late Earle Casselman, would like to extend their heart-felt thank you to their dear fiends in and around the Chalk River area. Your kindness will always be remembered.

Beloved husband of Judy Wilson of Kemptville. Loving step-father of Randy and Tony Hambly of Kanata. Dear grandfather of Sarah Hambly and Austin Acorn-Hambly. Loving brother of Terry and his wife Cheryl of Waterloo, Wonita (Mrs. Steve Ashton), and Timmy and his wife Sheila, all of Kitchener. Also survived by nieces and nephews: Dana, Stacey, Toni, Paul, Jacqueline, Channel, Daren, Kristin, Lisa, Darren and Ashley, and many other nieces and nephews. Also survived by two sisters-in-law; Jane (Mrs. Dr. Rev. Walter von Boetticher) of Golden Lake, Pat (Mrs. Carl McMillan) of Vero Beach, Florida, and two brothers-in-law; David Stephenson and his wife Patsy of Kemptville and James Stephenson of Toronto. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Saturday at 2:30 pm. Followed by cremation. In memoriam donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
