Collins William Eric
Peacefully at the Wiarton Hospital on Saturday April 12, 2003. Eric Collins of Mallory Beach in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Byers) Collins for fifty years. Dear father of Gayle of Windsor; Judy of Vancouver, B.C. and Cindy Wise and her husband Rob of Orilla. Proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Elliott Esther
Died peacefully, with her family at her side, at Grey Bruce Health Services in Wiarton on Sunday April 13th, 2003. Esther Elliott (nee Pedoniquotte) of Cape Croker in her 87th year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Stanley Jerry Elliott. Loving mother of Sandra Elliott & Sally Elliott (Dale), all of Toronto & Dexter Elliott of USA. Very special grandmother of Cynthia Elliott, Catherine Elliott (Scott), Robert Elliott, Ryan Elliott, Steven Elliott (Tammy), Jerry Elliott (Tanya), Judy Hoogenes (Kevin), Kenneth Jewer (Lisa), Jay Jewer (Elizabeth), Donna Smith, Deborah Smith (John), Laverne Smith (Tracy), Stanley Smith (Kim) & Carl Smith (Estrella). Dear 'nokmis' of Robbie Monague. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents John and Sophia Pedoniquotte, brother Isadore Pedoniquotte, sisters Agnes and Kathleen, children Garfield Elliott, Corinne Smith, Mary Wellington, Jerry Elliott, and Clinton Elliott. Visitation at the Maadookii Centre, Cape Croker, on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 15th, at 11:00 AM at the Cape Croker United Church with Rev. Maggie McLeod officiating. Interment in Little Port Elgin cemetery , Cape Croker. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Hopkins Shirley Bernice
Peacefully at the Lion's Head Hospital on Saturday April 5th, 2003. Shirley (Smith) Hopkins of Tobermory in her 74th year. Beloved wife of Tom Hopkins. Dear mother of Aunderia Boyd and her husband Ken of Cambridge. Loving grandmother 'Foof' of Jennifer (Todd) Sutherland of Kitchener and Sara (Josh) Merwin of North Tonawanda, New York. Proud great-grandmother of Kayla Sutherland. Shirley is survived by her sisters Jacqueline (Victor) Overholt of Owen Sound and Margaret (Andy) Anderson of Canyon Lake, California; and her brother Albert (Gloria) Smith of Hepworth. Friends may call at the Tobermory United Church, Tobermory on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be conducted at the church on Wednesday, April 9th at 2 PM. Shirley's daughter Aunderia and son-in-law Ken will officiate. Interment Dunk's Bay cemetery , Tobermory. If desired, memorial donations to the Tobermory Clinic or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Irvin Katherine Anne Katie
Peacefully at the Golden Dawn Nursing Home, Lions Head on Tuesday February 11th. 2003. Katie (McKeachnie) Irvin of Lions Head and formerly of Wiarton in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Irvin. Loving sister of John McKeachnie and his wife Nellie of Victoria, B.C.; Effie Wilson of Saanichton, B.C.; and Olive McKeachnie of Southampton. Predeceased by her sister Maude McKeachnie. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday February 14th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Elliott officiating. Spring interment, Eastnor cemetery Lions Head. Donations to Bruce Peninsula Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

Loucks Dr. Charles Harvey
D.D.S. University of Toronto - Captain-Canadian Armed Forces Dental Corps. Peacefully at the Wiarton Hospital on Sunday March 30, 2003. Dr. Charles Loucks of Colpoy's Bay in his 83rd year. Husband of Anne M. (Bunty) Thom and the Late Nina Elizabeth (Dodds) Loucks. Dear father of Dr. Andrew Loucks and his wife Irene of Colpoy's Bay and Dr. Alexander Loucks and his wife Katherine of Kingston. Special grandfather of Cameron, Fenn, Raymond, Alison and Jeffrey. Brother of Douglas G. Loucks of Colpoy's Bay and Dr. Floyd Loucks and his wife Dorothy of Toronto. Predeceased by two brothers Cameron and Maurice. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday April 5th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ed Laksmanis officiating. Cremation with Interment of cremated remains at Colpoy's Bay cemetery. Donations to Friends of Gateway Haven or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.

Reese Eileen Marjorie Speechley
Peacefully at the Owen Sound Hospital with her children by her side on Wednesday January 29, 2003. Eileen (Stewart) Reese of Pike Bay in her 75th year. Beloved mother of Mark Speechley and his wife Kathy Nixon and Megg Smith and her husband Tim. Much loved grandmother of Kimberley, Charlie, Bailey and Rachel all of London. Sister of Dan (Betsy) Stewart and Bob (Helen) Stewart. Predeceased by her husband George Reese, brother Alan Stewart, and sisters Lenore Marcella and Muriel Stewart. At Eileen's request in lieu of a funeral, a family celebration of her life will be held in the spring.Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Pike Bay Community Centre would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the George Funeral Home, Wiarton (519) 534-0240.

Blake Gladys Mayme
At the Lion's Head Hospital on Friday July 4th, 2003. Gladys Blake in her 83rd year. Gladys was a retired Taylor Telephone Operator and a lifelong, integral member of the Lion's Head community. She will be sadly missed by many treasured family members, dear friends and her dog Nellie. Predeceased by brothers Jack, Elroy, Solomon (Saul) and two infant sisters. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lion's Head on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service to honor and celebrate Gladys' life will be held at Christ Church Anglican, Lion's Head on Monday, July 7th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jawn Kolohan officiating. Interment Eastnor cemetery , Lions Head. Donations to Christ Church Anglican would be gratefully appreciated.

Peacefully with her family by her side at the Owen Sound Hospital on Saturday June 14th, 2003. Lyn (Gent) Campbell of Lake Charles in her 50th year. Beloved wife of Wayne Campbell. Dear mother of Brian of Listowel, and Kate of Owen Sound. Special granny of Kira-Lyn, Stacy-Lyn, and Ezarah. Daughter of Betty and the late Ronald Gent of Kitchener. Sister of Cherry Fraser and Vicky Socha both of Kitchener. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Wednesday June 18th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ed Laksmanis officiating. Donations to the Owen Sound Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Good Helen Elaine nee Woodman
At the Wiarton Hospital, Sunday April 6, 2003, with her family by her side. Helen Good of Oliphant in her 75th year, loving wife for 52 years of John Good. Mother of Jan White and her husband Charles of Brights Grove, and Elliott Good and his wife Sandra of Oliphant. Adored 'Nan' to Nathan, Lindsay, Tanner, Wesley and Hayden. Predeceased by sons, Edgar (Ted) and Gregory. Sister of June Forler and her husband Doug of Hope Bay, and the late Marion Butchart and her husband Ford of Wiarton. Survived by brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, cousins and many nieces and nephews. Helen was an extraordinary person, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved life and had a positive impact on all those she met. She was a source of great strength, humor and insight and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Helen was also a Charter member of the I.O.D.E. Whitecloud Chapter. As per Helen's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Internment and a memorial service will take place in the Oliphant Balsam Grove Cemetary at a later date. Memorial donations to the Bruce Peninsula Health Services-Wiarton or the Bruce Peninsula Sportsmans Club would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Peacefully with his family by his side at Gateway Haven Nursing Home, Wiarton on Saturday April 19th, 2003. Don Hofstrand of Wiarton in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Lena (Ellis) Hofstrand. Loving father of Sharon Dorney and her husband Steve of Wiarton; and Terry Hofstrand and her friend Don Costello of Toronto. Special grandfather of Joanne McCaw (Mike Gibbons) of Hepworth; Steven (Cindy) Ellis of Orangeville, and great grandfather of Amanda, Aaron, Kate, Ryan, and Taylor. Brother of Wilbert (Della) of Florida. Predeceased by four brothers. At Don's request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and may be made at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton (519) 534-0240.

Dear mother of Robert and his wife Aunderia of Lions Head and David of Toronto. Special grandmother of Zack and Shelby. Sister of Eldon and Jim both of London and Roger of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel 71 Main Street, Lions Head on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM where a service will be conducted at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Gingerich officiating. Interment , Eastnor cemetery , Lions Head. Donations to the Lions Head Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Suddenly in Haldimand - Norfolk County on Thursday April 10th, 2003. Gord Urbshott of Haldimand - Norfolk County in his 55th year. Dear son of Verna (Meadows) and the late Ken Urbshott of Wiarton. Husband of Mary (Bourdault) Urbshott. Loving father of Elizabeth Johnston and her husband Jeffery of Innisfil; Shawn of Ottawa; and Jody Adams and her husband Tom of Wallaceburg. Special grandfather of Alyssa, Brittany, Gabrielle, Brandon, and Skyler. Brother of Shirley (Reg) Maconald, Rodger (Donna-Lynn), Donna (Larry) Kavelman, Mel (Judy), Larry (Jill), Nancy (Bill) Angel, and Syl (Kim) all of Wiarton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Monday April 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The family will hold a private funeral service. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
