Peacefully, at the Southampton Care Centre on June 16, 2003. Winn (McMaster) MacKenzie in her 87th year. Wife of the late Clark Mackenzie, and mother of the late Joan MacKenzie. Loving aunt of Jean & Bill McMaster of Tweed, Beth Ann (McMaster) & John Moore of New Market, Mary Ellen (McMaster) & Ken Janse of Lefroy, Peter McMaster of Bradford, Marie (Bull) & Bill Wyborn of London, Joyce & Jerry Mackenzie Hopp of London. Also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Friday, June 20th from 1- 2pm. Service to follow at 2pm. Cathy Wilson officiating. Interment Bayview cemetery , Wiarton. As your expression of sympathy donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

McCutcheon Captain Elgin
Peacefully at the Lion's Head Hospital on Thursday June 5, 2003. Elgin McCutcheon of Lion's Head in his 89th year. Beloved husband, for almost 60 years, of Blanche (Adams) McCutcheon . Dear brother of Ivan (Maria) of Sauble Beach; Harvey (Marie) of Owen Sound; Morgan (Sally) and Frank (Jackie) all of Burlington. Predeceased by four brothers Robert, Stanley, Clarence 'Kenny' and Lloyd. Elgin will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Captain McCutcheon was a member of the Masonic Lodge and The Royal Canadian Legion. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lion's Head on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday June 8th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Audrey Brown officiating. Interment Eastnor cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Lion's Head Hospital or Central United Church would be gratefully appreciated.

Peacefully at the Owen Sound Hospital on Thursday April 24th, 2003. Eleanor 'Babs' (Tucker) Brockwell of Tobermory in her 87th year. Wife of the late Edward Brockwell. Dear mother of Eleanor Barclay; and Mary LaFontaine and her husband Patrick all of Tobermory. Special Granny of Nicole, Michelle, Andrew, and Alec. Sister-in-law of Elizabeth Tucker and Aunt of Jamie and Cam. Predeceased by a daughter Anne; one sister Margaret Champ-renault and two brothers Tim and Walter. At Eleanor's request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted from St. Edmund's Anglican Church, Tobermory on Monday April 28th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jawn Kolohon officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tobermory Clinic would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Peacefully, at London University Hospital on Friday July 11, 2003. Barb (McArthur) Cameron of Lion's Head, in her 59th year. Loving wife of Larry. Cherished mother of Brenda and her husband Manny Tonna of Brampton, Tammy and her husband Mark White, Joanne and Shane all of Lion's Head. Proud grandmother of Jordan, Johnathon and Elizabeth. Barb is survived by her sisters Yvonne Gunnis (Bill), Francis Henderson (Carl), Penny Conlin (Pat), Thelma Curtis, and Norma Conrad (Jim); and by her brothers Harold (Connie) and Dennis. Predeceased by her parents Alvin & Deline, sisters, Irene & Mildred Bartley and Ruth Diamond, and granddaughter Heather White. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lion's Head on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, Lion's Head on Monday July 14th at 2:00 pm. Interment Eastnor cemetery , Lion's Head. Peacefully at the Gateway Haven Nursing Home, Wiarton on Saturday July 12, 2003. Ken Farrow of Wiarton in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Betty (Rumley) of Wiarton. Dear father of Evelyn Neily and her husband Richard of Ottawa; Carol Beckett and her husband Tom of Hepworth; Michael of Wiarton and David and his friend Kathy of Wiarton. Grandfather of Jennifer, Sean, Claire, Vanessa, Virginia and Ryan. Great grandfather of Kate-Lynn, Jordan and Maddison. Predeceased by two sisters Jan Pearce, Ruth Holohan and one brother Howard. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A service of remembrance will be conducted at the Trinity Anglican Church , 491 Gould Street, Wiarton on Tuesday July 15th at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Jawn Kolohon officiating. Cremation with Intement in Dunk's Bay cemetery , Tobermory. Donations to the Bruce Peninsula Sportsmen's Association or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Peacefully at the Wiarton Hospital on Monday September 29th, 2003. Jack Avis of Wiarton in his 83rd year. Jack was a veteran of WWII. Beloved husband of Olive (Hutchins) Avis. Dear father of Anne Hodges and her husband Perry of North Vancouver, B.C. and Robert and his wife Sheryl of Tara. Also survived by three grandchildren Beth Hodges of Vancouver, Kristen and Darryl Avis of Tara; and one sister Joan Avis of England. Predeceased by one sister Mary Dart. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Dear mother of Terry and her husband Ray Schiltz of Hanover; Kathy and her husband Tom King of Clavering; and Michael and his wife Sharon of Kitchener; Special grandmother of Jason Balzan of Brampton, Kevin, Eric, Brandan King all of Clavering, and Nicole and Cody Balzan both of Kitchener. Also survived by several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Grandfather 'Papa Gordie' of Michael, Melanie, Krystle, Sandra, Jesse and Aaron and great grandfather of Morgan. Brother of Verna Kellestine of St. Thomas, Betty (Peter) Raymond of London and Millie (Martin) Inch of Yarker. Predeceased by one brother Carl Bishop. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at the Tobermory Community Centre on Wednesday August 20th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Donations to the Tobermory Clinic would be appreciated by the family. At his home on Thursday August 28th, 2003. David Clarke of L'Amable in his 38th year. David will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Tom and Rose of Oxenden; his brothers, Robert of Lion's Head and Raymond of Peterborough; his sister, Sue Bidwell of Rockwood; and especially by his little girl, Kayla Rose Clarke of Ferndale. Suddenly at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton on Wednesday August 6, 2003. Jack Cole of Wiarton in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Pauline (Johnston) Cole. Father- in-law of Diane Sloat of Paris. Brother of Brock (Marilyn) Cole of Wiarton. Also survived by two grandchildren Michael and Scott Cole of Paris. Predeceased by his son John Francis (Frank) Cole. At her home in Owen Sound on Tuesday September 9, 2003. Helen (Ashkewe) Domenchuk in her 74th year. Dear and loving companion of Al Gillis. Helen was the sister of Mary Johnston and Harry Ashkewe; half sister of Delmar Ashkewe, Ozzie Stevens, Winnie and Evelyn Woods. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Retired Residential Care Co-Ordinator for the mentally handicapped in Brandon, Manitoba. Beloved husband of Liz (Hay Duncan) Gibson. Dear Brother-In-Law of Adam Anderson, Uncle of Joan (Mike) Tait, and James Anderson all of Scotland. Cousin of Jim and Marta Biggar of Southampton. Predeceased by one sister Jean. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted from the Knox Presbyterian Church, Stokes Bay on Friday June 20th at 2:00PM with Pastor Joe Jaouni officiating. Sister in law of Winston Greig of Wiarton, Kevin and Dorothy of Seaforth and Jean of Stratford. Predeceased by two sisters Iona Greig, Mildred Saddler and three brothers Stanley, John and Elgin. A graveside service will be held at Bayview cemetery , Wiarton on Monday June 9th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Elliott officiating. Burland Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann Burland (née Hurry), born Jan. 17, 1929, died peacefully Oct. 20, 2003 in Wiarton, Ontario. Much loved wife of Buzz Burland, and dear stepmother of Rob Burland, Anne Pashley, and Susan and Thad McIlroy. Beloved grandmother of Christine and Jake Burland. Predeceased by her sister Jo Whiting, and survived by her sister Marilyn Dixon. Barbara will be missed by her nieces and nephews and by her many friends. She will be remembered for her humour, generosity, and hospitality. At Barbara's request no service will be held. There will be an open house to celebrate her life at a future date. Donations in Barbara's name to the Wiarton Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.
