Urbshott Arthur George
Suddenly at the Wiarton Hospital on Sunday September 14, 2003. Art Urbshott of Purple Valley in his 73rd year. Dear brother of Jack and his wife Margaret of Owen Sound; Herb and his wife Norma of Wiarton and Bob and his wife Gladys of Guelph. Brother-in-law of Aus Thompson of Colpoy's Bay and Bill Hepburn of Purple Valley. Dear friend of Norm Gilbert of Purple Valley. Predeceased by his parents Clayton and Lottie(Pyke) Urbshott and two sisters Marj Thompson and Audrey Hepburn. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday September 17th at 2:00 PM. with Rev. David Leggatt officiating. Interment Colpoy's Bay cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Urquhart Myrtle Margaret
Peacefully at the Lee Manor Nursing Home, Owen Sound on Monday October 27, 2003. Myrtle Urquhart of Pike Bay in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the Late Donald Urquhart. Dear Mother of Donald Jr. and his wife Sharon of Gibson, B.C.; Gary and his wife Anna of Haliburton, Kenneth and his wife Cindy of Port Hope and Allen of Pike Bay. Sister of Gurney (Joan) Beers of Amherst, N.S. Also survived by grandchildren Aaron, Colin, Corey, Ryan, Kyle, Todd, Chad, Matthew , Adam and great grandchildren Brandon, Debra, Brittany, Cattlin and Jessica. Predeceased by two sons Larry and Gurney. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lion's Head on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday October 31st at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Bob Mansfield officiating. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Wellington John Jack
At home, on Sunday, November 16th, 2003. Jack Wellington of Tobermory in his 54th year. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Patricia 'Paddy' Donovan; his parents, George and Esther Wellington of Stratford; his brothers, Eric (Lynn Shellenburg of Stratford, and Steve (Natalie Pressburger) of Ottawa; and nephews, William, Jakey and Toby. Jack will be sadly missed by all of his and Paddys' families. As per Jack's request cremation with no services. Memorial donations to the Tobermory Clinic would be gratefully appreciated. Arrangements entrused to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Whitcroft Frances Mae
Peacefully, at the Wiarton Hospital on Monday, October 6th, 2003. Frances Whitcroft of Wiarton in her 76th year. Frances is survived by; her children, Rev. Dr. Janet Brigham of Lindsay, Cheryl Cricks and her husband James of Germany, James Sherrell and his wife Brenda of London; grandchildren, Larry and Kevin Niles, Christy, Hillary and Chase Cricks, Jamie-Sue and Jay Sherrell; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Brooke; and by her only surviving sister, Margaret (Lloyd) Adams of GrandBend. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Bayview cemetery , Wiarton on Monday, October 20th at 1:00 PM with Frances' daughter Rev. Dr. Janet Brighman officiating. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to dear friends Stella Liverance, Margaret Tuck, Dr. VanDorp, the VON and the Wiarton Hospital Nurses for their kind care of Frances. Memorial donations to St. John's United Church would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home.

Williams Elva Eva Dorthea
Peacefully at Gateway Haven, Wiarton on Friday November 28, 2003. Elva (Widmeyer) Williams of Wiarton in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the Late Stewart Williams . Dear mother of Owen of Victoria Harbour; Gary of Owen Sound; Florence Heighton of Toronto; Art of Penetanguishene; Yvonne Jones of Owen Sound; Marion Schurman of Moncton, New Brunswick; Terry of Wyevale and David of Brampton. Sister of Florence Paton of Wiarton. Also survived by thirty five grandchildren,sixty two great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Wilhamina (Kreller) Widmeyer, one daughter Jane, fours sons Brian, Fred, Doug, Tom, one brother Harold Widmeyer and one sister Veneda Murtha. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday December 2nd at 11:00 AM. with Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Spring Interment , Palmerston cemetery , Palmerston. Donations to the Friends of Gateway Haven or St. Peter's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family. Unity Rebekah Lodge #147 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:45 PM.

Peacefully at the Georgian Heights Nursing Home. Owen Sound on Sunday November 23, 2003. Elfreda (Wilson) Williamson of Wiarton in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late George Williamson. Loving mother of Elaine and her husband Fred Howell of Hepworth; Joyce and her husband Glen Bumstead of Georgian Bluff's; Stan and his wife Sherry of Chapleau, Nancy and her late husband Wayne Schank of Tara; Faye and her husband Rick Peever of Georgian Bluff's; Wade and his wife Mavis of Keady; Grant and his wife Leanne of Georgian Bluff's; Paul and his wife Angela of Durham and Narda of Wiarton. Loving grandmother of twenty three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also survived by one sister Leona Schaus of Walkerton and two brothers Gerald of Lindsay and Doneley of Owen Sound. Predeceased by one daughter Linda. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hwy. #6 Wiarton on Sunday November 30th at 2:00 PM. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Special friend of Frances McGibbon of Wiarton. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday October 22nd at 2:00 PM with Mr. Gordon McDonald officiating. Cremation to follow. Loving mother of Darrell Deslauriers and her husband Claude of Kingston; Garth and his wife Marilyn of Hepworth; Marybelle Lozanski and her husband Andy, and Karen Cooke and her husband John all of London. Cherished Grandma to Owen (Amy) of Brantford, Kevin of Exeter, Ron (Lindsay) of Toronto, Janna (Brian) of Hepworth, Alex, Ashley, Jordanna, Brittany, Kailyn and Jaeden all of London. Great grandmother of Maddie of Brantford. Sister of Fern Beale and her husband David of White Rock B.C. Predeceased by an infant sister Grace and by two brothers Murray White, and Ronald White. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday March 6th at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Leggatt officiating. Spring interment in Colpoy's Bay cemetery. Dear mother of Michael and his wife Joanne of Singhampton and Carol and her husband Larry Forbes of Mar. Cherished grandmother of Clint of Meaford; Anita of New Market; Karla of Singhampton; Brian (Amanda) White of Brantford; Michael (Liana) of Edmonton, Alberta; Jeff of Sauble Beach; Sabrina Macaloney and Brandy Forbes both of Owen Sound. Also survived by four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton, on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Staines J. Ross
Suddenly, in the Oliphant lakeside home he loved, John Henry Ross Staines, in his 72nd year. Ross Staines of Oliphant, formerly of Kitchener-Waterloo, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31st, with his beloved companion and fiancee Marianne Whaley at his side. Predeceased by his much-loved wife, Joy. Son of the late Dudley and Isobel Staines. Survived by his children Claudia Staines and her husband, Jeff Mols of Owen Sound; Andrea Willems of Calgary; David and his wife Firmina of Waterloo; Greg and his companion Andrea Harris of Owen Sound; Michael and his wife, Rita Givlin of Kitchener; Max and his wife Gretchen of Oakville. Also survived by his brother and friend, Bruce and his wife Patricia O'Regan of Oliphant. Also survived by his stepdaughter Kris, her husband John, and their children Alex and Tasha, as well as his son-in-law Rick Willems of Calgary. Adored and doting Poppy Ross to his grandchildren Ashley, Arick & Alex; Lauren & Shelley; Jakob & Lukas; Jesse; Jeffrey, Emily & James; Maddie, Anna & Chloe. Ross will also be dearly missed by his long-time poker buddies, Mike, John, Dick and Bruce. A 10-year member of the Kitchener Public, and Waterloo Regional Library Boards; a trustee of the Kitchener Public School Board, and a member of the building committee for Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute; a Rotarian and Boy Scout leader. Long-time member of the K-W Sales & Ad Club, a curler, gun enthusiast, and avid fisherman. Ross was renowned for his boundless love of good food and good books, passions inherited by all of his children. A minor celebrity of sorts, Ross was known throughout Bruce-Grey as the Oliphant Weather Watcher on CFOS, providing detailed descriptions of the day's weather as he would look out over Lake Huron. Ross's sense of humour was enjoyed by all who knew him, a source of bewilderment for the waitresses and sales clerks with whom he flirted, and treasured by his children and grandchildren as his greatest legacy. Cremation has taken place; a memorial service for friends and family will be held this spring. Donations in Ross's memory may be made to the Kitchener Library Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.

Spears Dora Aletha
Peacefully at her residence on Wednesday February 4, 2004. Dora (Pettigrew) Spears of Tobermory in her 91st year. Daughter of the Late Herman and Eliza Pettigrew. Beloved wife of the Late William 'Bill' Spears. Dear mother of Ila Kleinknecht and her husband Tom of Linwood and Lynda Chisholm of Tobermory. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Linday) Kleinknecht; Sharon (Blaine) Hergott; Trudy (John) Watson; Connie (Steve) Collins; Sandra (Fred) Watson; Ron (Angie) Watson; Karen (Lynn) McKague, Carrie Spears; Tiedra Spears and Grant Spears. Also survived by eleven great grandchildren and sister in laws Orma Brown, Lola Craigie, Dorothy Young and Joan McLaughlin. Predeceased by son Bill. The family will receive friends at the Tobermory United Church, 9 Brook Street, Tobermory on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at the church on Saturday February 7th at 1:00 PM. with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment Dunk's Bay cemetery , Tobermory. Donations to the Tobermory Clinic, Diabetic Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton.
