Suddenly at the Lion's Head Hospital on Thursday September 9, 2004. Arlie Waterman of Lion's Head in his 86th year. Dear father of Mary Jane and her husband Ray and Ted all of Manitoba. Also survived by some grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister Mary Smith and four brothers George, Arthur, Robert and Alvin. At Arlie's request cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains in Mount View cemetery , Cambridge. Donations to the Golden Dawn Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family. Peacefully at Gateway Haven Nursing Home, Wiarton on Tuesday November 9th, 2004. Pearl (Skene) Walpole of Oxenden in her 92nd year. Wife of the late Aldin Walpole (1970). Dear mother of Connie and her husband Harold McArthur of Scarborough; Terry of Toronto; and Delores and her husband Roger Ward of Oxenden. Special grandmother of eleven grandchildren Jamie, Rick, Ken, Rob, Linda, Tammy, Tracy, Terri-Lynn, David, Ronda, Mandy and sixteen great grandchildren. Loving sister of Earl, Bud (Harriett), Marj (Gord) Smith all of Wiarton, Gladys MacDonald of Owen Sound, Helen (Bob) Porter of Lake Charles, Mae (Lorne) Dennis of B.C., and Fairy (Gord) Buchanan of Oliphant. Also survived by son-in-law Ted Tennant of Oxenden. Predeceased by two daughters Nadean Carwell, Gwen Tennant two sisters June Heath, Beatrice (Beat) Twigger and three brothers Ewart, Morgan and Bill. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday November 12th at 2:00 PM. with Rev. Ed Laksmanis officiating. Interment , Oxenden cemetery. Formerly of London, Ontario passed away Monday May 31, 2004 at his home at Mallory Beach, Wiarton in his 70th year. Survived by his beloved family: wife Mary and daughter Francesca of Mallory Beach, son John and his wife Yuko of Owen Sound, grandsons Mischa (Michael Louis) and Ben Hiroshi, sister Marie Macaitis of Australia. Lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Mrs. Frances Nagy, several nephews, nieces, cousins and his many friends in Canada, U.S.A., Germany and Australia. Suddenly in Barrie, Ontario on October 10, 2004. Beloved son of Gary Thompson (Patricia) of Wasaga Beach. Brother of Leanne Reeves (Robert) of Whitby, Ontario. Predeceased by his mother Catherine and grandfather James. Grandson of Ruby Thompson and Howard and Phyllis Anderson. Step-brother to Krissy and Brad Hickling and Aaron and Sarah Dimmock of Barrie. He will be missed by his family and many friends. A graveside service was held at Balsam Grove cemetery , Oliphant, on Saturday October 16, 2004 at 11:00 am with Mr. A.J.V. Leeder offficiating. A memorial service will be held at Coleman Care Centre, Barrie, on Wednesday October 20, 2004 at 1:30 pm. Stutenbaumer Eric
On Sunday August 1, 2004 at Summit Place in Owen Sound at the age of 93 years. Son of the Late Ludwig and Matilda. Predeceased by his beloved wife Hubertine (Tina), his younger sister Helen and his son- in- law Jack Wingate. He is survived by his only child Lascelle Liesel Wingate and his older sister Tilly. Eric lived in Baltimore, Dusseldorf and London, Ontario during his long and eventful life and retired just outside of Wiarton. He was well known in his neighbourhood for his generous hospitality, great stories and his love of a series of dashhounds, especially Kaine. He will be missed by Lascelle, Tilly, Brigitte White, and his many friends, all of whom know what a rich and rewarding life he lived. Sincere thanks to Dr. Veenstra and all the staff at Summit Place for all the outstanding care they provided, especially at the end. Suddenly in Wiarton on Saturday September 25th, 2004. Carl Scott of Wiarton in his 35th year. Dear son of Hilary (Johns) Schuster of Wiarton and the late Wilfred Scott. Carl is survived by his grandmother Betty Scott, an aunt Marjorie Storer, an uncle Eric Johns, and three cousins Penny, Stephie, and Lizzie all of England. Also remembered by several friends. A funeral service for Carl will be conducted from the George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Wednesday September 29th at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Leggatt officiating. Peacefully at the Wiarton Hospital on Wednesday August 25, 2004. Doug Rydall of Oliphant in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Merrilynn (Mel) Rydall of Oliphant and the Late Hilda McDow Rydall. Brother of Dorothy and her late husband Ray Burdette of Colpoy's Bay. Loving stepfather to Ron Bordon, Theresa Veldman and her husband John and Linda Voros all of Prince George, British Columbia. Step father also to Wendy Henderson and her husband Greg of Owen Sound, Stacey Best of Stoney Creek, Christy Watson and her husband Tom of Grimshaw, Alberta and Jaydee McClure and his wife Marg of Creston, British Columbia. Doug will be sadly missed by his eighteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one niece and three nephews. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Laura Rydall of Wiarton, brother Don (Ewart) Rydall husband of Kay Rydall of Belmont. Doug spent nine years as a kidney transplant patient as of May this year. Doug spent most of his life working on the railroad, twenty five years for CPR in Ontario and twenty three years for BC Rail as an engineer. He was an avid gardener, loved animals and children, enjoyed his horses, horse related activities, going to many events at Western fairs, winning prizes and generally contributing to furthering horse interests in the commnunity. Since Doug's retirement he has continued to be active in church work and worked aggressively with other committee members to achieve a 'barrier free' entrance to our Community of Christ Church in Wiarton. A reliable friend and gleefull player of various board games. This community will miss him. He has two special pets Chippy and Guy who are already wishing he was still here among us. Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will be held at the Community of Christ Church, 495 Berford Street, Wiarton on Sunday September 5th at 2:00 PM. with lunch to follow.
