Hunt: Ernest a resident of Wallaceburg passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 90. Born in Sombra Township, son of the late John and Luella (Lozon) Hunt. Beloved husband of the late Alice Hunt (2010). Ernest is survived by his step-children Kenneth Taylor (Barb), Marjorie Fournie (Doug), John Taylor (Cheryl Dawson), Charles Taylor (Elaine), Richard Taylor (Irene) and Barbara Ogorek (Tony); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his niece Sharon Sager (Richard) and their children; nephews Larry Hunt, Calvin Webster (Ann-Marie Meloche) and their children. Predeceased by brother Donald “Dean” Hunt (Opal) and step-daughter Helen Lapier (Joe). The Hunt family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St., Dresden on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Interment in Dresden cemetery. Irwin: Howard Ernest, a resident of Dresden passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Park Street Place, Dresden at the age of 85. Born in Chatham Township, son of the late Ernest and Josephine (Files) Irwin. Howard was a member of Tecumseh-Sydenham Masonic Lodge, No. 245, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 113, Dresden and the Oddfellow Lodge # 157, Thamesville. Beloved husband of the late Elda (Houston) Irwin (2013). Loving father of Nancy & Gordon Eagleson of California, Grace & Rick Goetheyn of R.R. 1 Chatham and Frederick & Linda Irwin of R.R 3 Tupperville. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Matthew (Bre), Philip (Jie), Chris (Vicki), Adam (Stephanie) and Katherine and great granddaughters Selene and Kylie. Dear brother-in-law of Audrey Irwin, Marilynn Shaw and Janet Arnold (Ron). Predeceased by brother Roy Irwin and brother-in-law Hilt Shaw. John Doub Jr.
Doub: John Nelson Jr., a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at the L.H.S.C. Victoria Campus, London on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the age of 59. Born in St.Thomas, beloved son of Dorothy (Wilkins) Doub and the late Nelson Doub of Wardsville. John was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Chatham, and was a Real Estate Broker in Chatham. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a member of the Elgin County Beagle Club. Loving father of Chris Doub of Wardsville, Jennifer Loveday of Chatham, Jackalynn Machado (Albertino) of Chatham, Jessica Doub (Aaron Kalp) of Melbourne. A very proud grandpa of Owen Doub, Brooklyn and Mitchell Loveday, Hewson and Claire Machado. Dear brother of Bradley Doub (Kathy) of Wardsville, Paul Doub (Janice) of Wardsville. Also survived by the mother of his children Brenda Doub of Newbury, son-in-law Scott Loveday of Chatham, and several nieces and nephews. Loving mother of Chris Filby & Fred Newfield of Chatham, Ronald & Anna Bailey of Blenheim, Randy & Linda Bailey of Kamloops, B.C. and Randy Filby of Port Elgin. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Josephine Phillips, Pauline Morrison, Leo Luciani, Peter Luciani (Marie), Joan Luciani, Millie Luciani, Joyce Bailey, Verna Hamilton and Madge Bailey. Bernice will be sadly missed by her "dudder" Janet Ridgers and dear friend Joyce Bowles. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Beloved husband of Verna (Jaques) Clark. Loving father of Gwen Liberty (Mark) of Chatham, Bruce Clark (Julie) of Chatham and Robert Clark (Shelley) of London and the Late Brian Clark. Sadly missed by daughter-in-law Darlene Waring of Saskatchewan. Proud grandfather of Kelly Huys (Peter), Teresa Liberty, Sarah Watkin (Scott) and Ashley Clark, step grandchildren Kelby and Kassandra Dyck (Grant) and great-grandchildren Hailey, Josh, Colin, and Nathan. PRETTY, Gordon N. - Of Chatham and formerly of Wabash, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 13th, 2014 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance one day before his 93rd birthday. Beloved son of the late Norman & Ethel Pretty. Cherished husband of 65 years to Marion (Williams) Pretty. Loving father of Richard & Brenda Pretty of Shakespeare, Alan & Wendy Pretty of Lighthouse Cove, Lynn & Norm Bell of Brampton, Joan & Bev Badder of Wabash, Scott & Joanne Pretty of Ingersoll, Cheryl & Bruce McInerney of Chatham, and Keith & Judy Pretty of Chatham. Father in law of Marie Pretty of Calgary. Predeceased by son Norman. Gordon was a cherished grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 14 ½ great grandchildren. Dear brother of Orvil & Muriel Pretty of Wallaceburg and the late Olive McLaughlin, John Pretty and Lenore Wilson. Gordon spent 55 years doing what he loved farming in the Wabash area. He was a veteran of World War II, serving proudly with the Carleton York Regiment. He was honoured with six medals for his service, the 1939 - 1945 Star, the France & Germany Star, the Italy Star, The Defense Medal, the Voluntary Service Medal and the Victory Medal. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place in Dresden cemetery. William Fredric Stephens, a resident of Bothwell passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 76. Born in Thamesville, son of the late Dorthy (Farnsworth) & Clarence Stephens. He is survived by brothers Gordon Stephens of Dresden and Robert Stephens; sisters Dorthy St. Pierre of Chatham, Betty Vansickle of Glencoe and Linda Holman of Ridgetown; two sons Ron and Brian; companion Rheada Fehr of Newbury; nephew and friend Brad Currie and niece Sherri Currie of Bothwell. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by brothers Joe Stephens, Burt Stephens, Lloyd Stephens and sister Arlo Jean Dennis.
