King, Edith

In Owen Sound on Friday, Februaray 28th, 2003 at the age of 65 years, the former Edith Ruthven of Port Elgin. Wife and dear friend of Thomas W. King. Mother of David Middleton and his wife Heather of Chesley, and Joan and her husband Pete McCannel of Burgoyne. Grandma of Rebekah, Dan, Courtney and Kellin Middleton, and Kara, Brynn, and Caiden McCannel. Edith will also be missed by the King family.

Friends are invited to a memorial service at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Julia Morden officiating.

Majury, Daisy

At the Southampton Care Centre on Wednesday, February 26th, 2003 in her 93rd year, the former Daisy Kerry. Beloved wife of the late Lawson Majury. Dear mother of Glen and his wife Dorcas of Southampton, and Yvonne Tottenham of Owen Sound. She is also survived by four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and by her sister Marjorie Kerry of Toronto. She is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St.S., Paisley from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Margaret Greenhow officiating.

McLaren, John

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Tuesday, February 25th, 2003 in his 80th year, John “Jack” McLaren of Port Elgin, formerly of Paisley. Beloved husband of the former Joy Thompson. Dear father of Marian and her husband John Rudge of Australia, Linda and her husband Wayne McLeod of Elmwood, and John and his friend Virginia Cook of Owen Sound. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and five stepchildren. Brother of Helen Schmidt of Port Elgin, Wilfred of Stoney Creek, and Glen of Port Elgin. He is predeceased by his son Wayne, brothers Bruce and James, and by his sister Dorothy.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St.S., Paisley from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Murray Rounding officiating.

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Monday, February 24th, 2003 at the age of 80 years, Margaret McDougall of Port Elgin. Wife of the late Mac McDougall. Mother of Frances of Hamilton, Malcolm and his wife Karen of Port Elgin, Gordon of Hamilton, Doris and her friend Keith Dunnet of Toronto, and Jim of Toronto. Grandmother of Natalie McDougall, and Kyle and Tyson Zimmer. Sister of Joey Clarke of England and Francis Inglis of Scotland. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Suddenly at her home on Saturday, February 22nd, 2003 at the age of 82 years, Catherine Carling of Port Elgin. Wife of Noel Carling. Mother of Robert of Quebec City, Lucille and her husband Roger Chambers of Burlington, and Gregory of Scotland. Grandma of Natalie Chambers.

Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, Port Elgin, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mike Francis officiating.

Interment Gate of Heaven cemetery , Burlington, on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.

In Wiarton on Friday, February 21st, 2003 at the age of 88 years, Norman Schildroth of Port Elgin. Father of Paul and his wife Joan of Port Elgin, Joan and her husband Paul Pace of Angus, Martin and his wife Jola of Port Elgin, Garth of Port Elgin, and John and his wife Adele of Red Deer, Alberta. Grandpa to Lisa and her husband Tim Pomroy, Lana and her husband Rod Blundell, and Leanne, Matthew, Mark and Mitchell Schildroth. Great-grandpa of Dylan and Skylar Pomroy and Tanner and Avery Blundell. Norman if survived by his sister Mary Leifso of Chesley, sisters-in-law Wynn Schildroth of Vancouver, and Fran Schildroth of Aurora, and by the children's mother Annie M. Schildroth of Port Elgin. He is predeceased by his brothers William, Clarence, George and Louis, his sisters Annie and Edith, and by his parents Fred H. Schildroth and Mary Louisa Minke.

She will be missed by her children, Alicia of St. Catharines and Craig of Goderich. Dear daughter of Jim & Wilma Mackay, sister of Linda Mackay, and Ken and Tamara all of Owen Sound, Bob and his wife Debbie of Carleton Place and Don and his wife Christine of Bowmanville. Grandaughter of Bernard Redner of Rednersville. She is also survived by her in-laws, Karl and Elfrieda Peltsch of Sault St. Marie and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandparents.

In Owen Sound on Tuesday, February 18th, 2003 at the age of 83 years, the former Marion Scott of Port Elgin. Wife of the late Percy Stevens. Mother of Wayne and his wife Ev of Port Elgin, and Larry and his wife Tiiu of Richmond Hill. Grandmother of Kim, Keri, Stacey, Krista, and Christopher. Great-grandmother of Chloe and Alec Walker, Jack Drury, and Liam & Regan Goddard. Sister of Ethel Stafford, Nellie McArthur, Phyllis Wilson, Roy Scott, Margaret Pearce, and Lillian McGillivray. She is predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.

Suddenly in Port Elgin on Saturday, February 15th, 2003, James Harold Collins, son of Reta Collins and the late Earl Collins. Brother of Albert and his wife Rose of R.R. #1, Port Elgin, Shirley and her husband Lawrence Nicholson of Owen Sound, and Mary and her husband Larry Letang of Port Elgin. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.

Peacefully at the Southampton Care Centre on Sunday, February 16th, 2003, at the age of 92 years, the former Mary Cinquina of Port Elgin and formerly of Mississauga. Loving wife of the late Stanley Wagester for 47 years. She is survived by her niece Claudette and her husband Arnold Elyea of Port Elgin and many nieces and nephews. Sister of Tony Cinquina and his wife Anita of Arizona, John Cinquina and his wife Joan, Nick Cinquina, Dominic Cinquina, Urlic Cinquina, Rosie Cinquina, all of Cornwall, and Annie Cameron of Toronto. She is predeceased by her parents Luigi and Olivia Cinquina, sister Henrietta Noel and brother Albert Cinquina.

A memorial service will be conducted in the W. Kent Milroy Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, on Friday, February 21st, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mike Francis officiating.

In Port Elgin on Friday, February 14th, 2003, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with brain cancer, the former Margaret Gibson of Port Elgin, in her 66th year. Loving and devoted mother of Brinda Smits and her husband Norman of Port Elgin, Gary Ball and Deborah Gaylor of Hamilton, Debbie and her husband Jim Ladd of Southampton, Kathy Schultz of Peterborough and Teresa Ball and Bruce Laurie of Hamilton. Will be missed by brother Charles Gibson and his wife Betty of Ancaster and by the children’s father, Russell Ball. Fondly remembered Aunt of Sandra, Kim and Jennifer. Dedicated and cherished grandmother of Norinda, Erin and Sherry Smits, Michael and David Ball, Elisha and Robin Ladd, Nira, Tegan and Kylie Schultz, and Joshua and Hayley Laurie. Proud great-grandmother of Michael Shular. Sister-in-law of Ken and Lila Ball, Vera and Charlie Cassell and Verna Wardrop.

As the result of a motor vehicle accident, on Tuesday, May 27th, 2003, in her 50th year, Barbara Krane-Nash of Port Elgin. Beloved wife and best friend of David Nash and loved by David Jr. Much loved by her parents, William and Mary Krane of Mississauga. Dearest sister of Peter, John, and Stephen Krane, Mary Ellen Krane, and Rosemary Rafferty. Sister-in-law of Sally Krane, Tracy Krane, John Butler and James Rafferty. Predeceased by her sister, Anne Elizabeth Butler in May 1997. Remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and former colleagues.
