At his residence on Friday, February 13, 2004. JAMES C. (JIM) COTTERILL, 71 years, of Wyoming. Beloved husband of Suzanne (nee Morin) Dear father of Dale and John Cribbon of Harriston, Tom and Linda Cotterill of Sarnia, Lynne and Dave Beer of Bright’s Grove, Susan and Dave Brooks of Wyoming and Cindy and Dave Smith of Camlachie. Dear brother of Ralph and Dorcas Dolbear and their daughter Terri of Wyoming. Dear step-father of Robert Lecours of Cambridge and Jacqueline Lecours of Sarnia. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and aunts and uncles. Predeceased by his mother, Nora Dolbear (1994) and step-father, Harry Dolbear (1994). Al Walsh

WALSH - Suddenly, on Friday, February 13, 2004. AL “KNOBBIE” WALSH, of Petrolia. Born in 1926 inGrand Falls, Newfoundland, Al served his country as a paratrooper during World War 2 with the Nova Scotia Highlanders and with the Royal Canadian Regiment during the Korean conflict. Al was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Canadian Corp. Al had worked for Canada Bread, Daifo Construction and had owned Oxford Variety in London. He resided at R.R.#1, Brigden from 1978 to 1998, where he worked at C.I.L., Sarnia Jail and with his wife Marie, operated Marie’s Restaurant on Highway 80 in Brigden. Beloved husband of 44 years of Marie (nee Lester). Predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Ellen Walsh, one sister and three brothers, all in Newfoundland. Also survived by 32 nieces and nephews. Al will be sadly missed by family and friends, especially Roufus, Buttons, Blackie. Visitors will be received on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia, where the complete funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. #216 will hold a memorial service on Monday at 6:45 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society.

POWELL - At Bluewater Health – C.E.E. Site, on Tuesday, February 17, 2004. LYLE “TUNNEY” POWELL, 73 years, of Petrolia. Loving partner to the late Margaret Salisbury (2003). Dear father to Lyle and Doreen Powell of Petrolia and Rick and Carol Powell of Oil Springs and step-father to Mary Ellen and Earl Howes of Petrolia. Loving grandfather to Angel, Bobbi Jo, Sean, Becky, Jesse, and Justin Powell and step grandfather to Bonnie and Jim Clouatre and Jeff Howes and eight great grandchildren. Will be missed by a sister Thelma Loop of Tupperville. Visitors will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Hillsdale cemetery , Petrolia. Lucille Fortune

FORTUNE; Thelma Lucille (nee Christopher), at Petrolia, Ontario, on February 16, 2004. Mrs. Thelma Lucille Fortune, 88 years, formerly of Mississauga and Jackson, Mississippi Beloved wife of the late James Herman Fortune and the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Tom H. Christopher of Jackson Mississippi. She is survived by Mr. Fortune’s son Bobby M. Fortune of Gainesville, Georgia and his daughter Martha Pugh and her husband Rev. James E. Pugh of Flomaton. Alabama. Mrs. Fortune served as secretary of Cooksville United Church and secretary-treasurer of the Auxiliary of the Sheridan Villa Nursing Home. She later served her Lord in choir, in Bible teaching, and administration of Lorne Park Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at Lorne Park Baptist Church, 1500 Indian Road, Mississauga, on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Jackson Mississippi. Arrangements by the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia (519-882-0100).

MARY LOUISE (MARY-LOU) LUSH (nee Flynn), 80 years, of Petrolia, passed away peacefully, at Bluewater Health – CEE Site, Petrolia, on Sunday, April 18, 2004. Beloved wife of John Lush. Dear mother of Carolyn and her husband Stephen Runowski of Burlington, Heather and her husband John Welsh of Barrie, Suzannne and her husband Blair Jameson of Sarnia and Kevin Lush and his wife Collette of Kitchener and grandmother to Kevin and Michael Runowski, Christine and Jack Welsh and Bruce and Melissa Jameson. Sister to Anne and Don MacDonell, Nancy and Fred Kessell, Judy and Don Skarratt, David and Elizabeth Flynn and the late Peggy and Bob Brodie. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Loretta Flynn. Dear mother of Ruby Farr of Brigden, Alice Newman of Corunna, Shirley Carroll of Wabeshene, Irene and Ron Edwards of Sarnia, Doreen Schnurr of Mississauga and the late Cecil and Jack Gatecliff, Bessie Hawke and Anna Mae Oliver. Also survived by 43 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Marion Hansgen

MARION ELIZABETH HANSGEN (nee Hill), 54 years, of Lanark, died peacefully at Perth Hospital, on October 29, 2005. Marion will be missed by her daughter, Heather and her husband Chris McLaren of Perth, her father Owen Hill and his wife Pauline (Kelly) of Petrolia, her sister, Sheila Hill of Toronto and the Kelly family, Dan and Lorain Kelly of Ottawa, Joyce Kelly and Bruce McLeod of Toronto, Judy and Charlie Duncan of Watford, Debbie and Wayne Dupuis and Dennis and Cheryl Kelly all of Petrolia. Marion grew up in Petrolia, leaving to attend Conestoga College in Kitchener. Marion was an avid gardener. She worked for the Lanark Era Newspaper until ill health forced her to a quieter life. A service to celebrate Marion’s life will be held at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia, on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Shoesmith officiating. Interment of cremated remains in Hillsdale cemetery , Petrolia will follow. Ernie was a retired City of Sarnia Fire Fighter with over 31 years of service and a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #388, Wyoming.
