Josephine Marie Tait

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving daughters, at Bluewater Health, C.E.E, Site, Petrolia, on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Josephine Marie “Jody” Tait (nee White) of Petrolia, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband, Francis (1986), daughter, Elizabeth Thompson (1976), son Robert (1996) and a granddaughter, Laura Froud (1996). Also predeceased by her parents Concetta Sabatino and Patrick Bianco (White), her sisters, Isabelle Dever, Marguerite Quackenbush, Anne Merkley and brother Dominic White. Loving mother to Diane and Robin Creeden of Peterborough, Patricia and John Froud of St. Marys and Mary Jo and Barry Edgar of Petrolia. Also survived by her son-in-law, Delmar Thompson and his wife Karen of Petrolia and her daughter-in-law Pat Tait Mitro and her husband Matt of Sarnia. Also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Paul (Jennifer) and Leslie Creeden, Heather, Jeffrey and Jason Thompson, Geordie and Melissa (Mark) Tait, Julie (Sean), Matthew and Janet Froud, Christopher (Danielle), Gregory, Scott and Lindsay Edgar and her great grandchildren, Abigail and Jacob Creeden. Mrs. Tait was a lifetime member of St. Philip’s C.W.L. Jody was endeared to many, young and old, through her presence and her kindness. Remembered by many for her commitment to family and community. Visitors will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia, where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Philip’s Church, Petrolia, on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Mount Calvary cemetery , Wyoming. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the C.E.E. Hospital Foundation or Lambton County Developmental Services.

Robert Fairbank

In Tucson, Arizona, on Monday, December 26, 2005. Robert Fairbank, 90 years, of Tucson, Arizona. Beloved husband of Elnora. Dear father of Erin Fairbank of Peoria, Arizona. Also survived by a niece, Sylvia Fairbank and a nephew, Charles Fairbank. Predeceased by his parents, Charles Oliver and Clara Fairbank, and a brother, Charles O. Fairbank (1982) and his wife Jean (1998). The funeral service for the late Robert Fairbank will be held at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia, on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev.Brian Shoesmith will officiate. Interment in the family plot at Hillsdale cemetery , Petrolia.

Elizabeth Menzies

At Bluewater Health – Mitton Site, on Saturday, December 31, 2005. Elizabeth (Betty) Menzies (nee West), 80 years, of Petrolia. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Canon George Menzies (2001). Dear mother of Anne and Brian Jacques, Rob and Cindy Menzies, John and Denise Menzies and David and Leanne Menzies all of Petrolia and Ted and Darcy Menzies of Hamilton. Dear grandmother of Bill Koncovy, Steven and Jen Koncovy, Rebecca and Randy Napper, Jen Jacques and Joel Weed, Matt, Alex, Heather, Eric, Sara, Nicole, Courtney, Jamie and Scott Menzies and Denise and Brian Bugler, and Eric and Christine Huet and the late Jordan Menzies. Dear great grandmother of Julia Koncovy, Jorja Koncovy and Lauren Napper and the late Nathan Koncovy. Also predeceased by her brothers, Edward, John and Herbert West. Mrs. Menzies served her community with her involvement with the Christ Anglican Church, the C.E.E. Hospital Auxiliary, the Margaret Stokes Chapter of the I.O.D.E., a founding member Petrolia Minor Hockey Mothers and a avid supporter of Petrolia Minor Sports and as the founder and coordinator of the community’s Christmas for Everyone program for 25 years. Visitors will be received on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia. The funeral service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, Petrolia on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Shoesmith officiating. Interment of cremated remains in Hillsdale cemetery , Petrolia. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the C.E.E. Hospital Foundation, the Children’s Health Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Dear brother of Lise and Bob Palframen of Welland, Nicky and Jerry Cole of Sarnia, Helen and Danny O’Brien of Wallaceburg, Teresa and Norm Munro of Sarnia, Jeannette and Charlie Masefield of Wallaceburg and Ray and Tracy Chartier of Sarnia. Visitors will received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wyoming Chapel, Broadway St., Wyoming. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, Wyoming on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 11:00 Fr. Dan Vere officiating. Interment in Mount Calvary cemetery , Wyoming. Also survived by four great grandchildren. Dear brother of Frank Nelles of Orillia and Hazel Millhouse of Hamilton. Also survived by 39 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Dear grandfather of Kevin, Brad, Todd, and Adam Vokes, Tim Tyrrell, Tammy Looy, and Trevor and Troy Patterson. Dear great grandfather of Anslea, Justin, Brandon, Taylor, Maddison, Shane, and Sydney. Dear brother of Ralph and Grace Vokes of Port Lambton, Doris and Harry Squire of Courtney, B.C., Margaret and Ron Curts of Forest, Marion and Ritchie Smith of Wyoming, and the late Kathleen (infant), John (2000) and Maurice (2004) and his wife Dorothea of Wiarton. Ross was a veteran of World War II, serving his country overseas with the 1st Canadian Car Company. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #388, Wyoming, the Bruce Masonic Lodge #341 (Tiverton), the Mocha Shrine Club and the Legion of Honor. Ross was a retired crane operator with the Operating Engineers Local #793.
