Lily passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on November 6, 2008 at Deer Park Villa in her 94th year. Lily emigrated to Canada on March 23, 1929 aboard the S.S. Athenia. She was the beloved wife of the late John Patrick Whelehan, and daughter of the late William Thomas Morris and Isabella (nee Hutchinson) Morris. Loving mother to Letitia Gold (and the late Albert), the late Eunice Debaie (Edward), the late Beatrice Soulliere (Bob), and of Susan Spain (and the late Paul). Cherished grandmother of John Spain, Paul Spain and Cindy Spain (whom she raised as her own children); Gary Gold, Albert Gold and the late Laura Gold; Lisa Robinson, Maureen Wilkens, and the late Michael Theobald; Jane Richards, Lyle Jacobs, David Keegan, Murphy Keegan (also raised as her own child), Peter Keegan, Kathleen Simms, Angela Keegan, and Lorne Jacobs. Lovingly remembered by 17 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Isabella Shultz. Cherished grandfather of Douglas, Christopher (Tammy) and Bradley (Leah Camacho), and great-grandfather of Rylan. Dear brother of Adam Hugh Beamer (Nova) of Florida. Predeceased by two sisters Ila Davis (and her husband Walter), and Doris White (and her husband Richard), and sisters-in-law Doris Beamer and Helen Beamer. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Lyle was a lifelong member of the Bethel Evangelical Church, and then of Smithville United Church since 1945 where he was an honorary life Elder and Sunday School Superintendent and teacher.
