LANGLEY, LAWRENCE: At his home in Smithville, on Friday, January 27, 2006, Lawrence Edward Langley in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Ann Langley (nee Fraser). Loving father of Laurie Ann Langley, Thomas Langley, and of David Langley and his wife Shannon. Cherished by his grandchildren Audrie Ann, Chloe Jane and Dagen John. Dear brother of Kathleen Thompson. Predeceased by his brother Harry Langley. Lawrence was Captain of the Etobicoke Fire Department for many years, and was a long-time owner and trainer at the Fort Erie race track. He will also be missed by many friends who thought of him as a second father, and especially by his friends Guy and Gail Proteau. Cremation has taken place. Beloved wife of the late George H. R. McLaren (1980) and loving mother of Alan (Joanne) McLaren, Margaret (Chuck) Witherington, and Douglas (Susan) McLaren. Beloved son of Jim and Pauline Park. Loving fiancé of Jess Fenwick. Loving brother of Todd and Cindy Park and uncle to Madison and Nicholas, and loving brother of Ashley and Byron Faist and uncle to Katie. Dear grandson of Rebecca Pennell and the late Elizabeth Broomfield (2005). Brad will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Prayers for the deceased were held Thursday evening, August 10 at Merritt Funeral Home. The Funeral Liturgy was celebrated at 11 am on Friday, August 11 at St. Martin of Tours' Roman Catholic Church, Smithville. Father Mathew Pendanathu officiated the service. Dear brother of Helen Martin of Crystal Beach, and Bev White (Charlie) of Hamilton. Loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Red served in WWII with the RCAF and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 in St. Catharines for 62 years. PETRIE, JOHN: It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Robert Petrie on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Henderson Hospital. Left to remember him is his daughter Sandy and husband Peter Morris, daughter Carol Mushing, his grandchildren John Morris and fiancée Lesley, Wendy (Morris) and husband Shawn McKune, Andrew Mushing and his great-grandchild Andrew (McKune). He is survived by one sister Sylvia Harris of Swineshead, England. Fondly remembered by Peggy Petrie and his very good companion Judie Nichols. Predeceased by four sisters Frances, Irene, Bessie and Marjorie. John was born July 29, 1925 in Ferozepore, India. He moved to England after serving as a Warrant Officer in the Indian Army from 1943 to 1947. In June 1957, he moved his family to Canada where he worked for P.B. Electronics and Otis Elevator until his retirement. Cremation has taken place upon his request. A memorial service was held at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Friday, April 21. Visitation began at 10 am, and the Service followed at 11 am.
