Matthew Quinn Hofland

HOFLAND, Matthew Quinn - On Monday 23rd April 2007. Matthew went to be with his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ after heroic efforts by his dear friends Trent Galbraith and Mike Moes at the scene of the accident. A grade 11 student who lived life to the fullest without regret; sports of every type were his passion, particularly basketball and baseball but especially mountain biking and dirt biking. He paid attention to his academics and excelled in sports and was always known for his passion and large heart. Matthew will be sadly missed by all of us and be permanently fixed in our heart. Beloved son of Quinn & Tracy and brother to Michael & Daniel; grandson to Pat, Adrian, Jack, Eleanor & Rany; nephew to Marc, Jason, Donna, Brian, Rose, Peter, Michael, Lori, Kerrie and Pete; great- nephew to Eileen and cousin to Taylor and Kaylee. Family will receive friends at the Niagara St. Chapel of BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Niagara Street, St. Catharines 2:00 pm-4:00 pm & 7:00 pm-9:00 pm on Thursday 26th April. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Hunter) and dear father of Wayne and Deena, Earl and Tina all of Beamsville and Craig of Toronto. Grandfather of Josh, Jeffrey and Lyndsey. Brother of Gordon and Mary James of London. Mr. James is at the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 4998 King St., Beamsville where the family will receive friends (today) Thursday 2 - 4 and 7 - 8:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ, 4900 John St., Beamsville on Friday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Mount Osborne cemetery , Beamsville. McKINNON, James Charles “Jim” ~ Suddenly, at his residence in St. Catharines, on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the age of 53. Predeceased by his parents Charlie (2000) and Ange (1989) McKinnon. Cherished brother of Cathy (Jim) Bogusat, Maureen (Erik) Schryer, Debbie Knight, Kelly (Ron) Christie, Brian (Deborah Selby) McKinnon, Michael (Joanne) McKinnon, Christopher McKinnon, Guy (Karen) McKinnon and Tracey McKinnon. Uncle Jim will be loved and remembered always by his nieces and nephews Jillian (Rob), Lynsey, Jade (Thomas), Carly (Steve), Katelyn, Nicole, Joshua, Michelle, Duncan, Shawn, Sean, Jodie, Christopher, Corey, Nikki, Kyla, Jake and Jackson. Jim will also be sadly missed by dear friends Craig Knight, Dave Venus, Colin Boone and Steve Gray. Jim was a respected employee of General Motors for 30 years. He shared his passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs, smooth jazz and Bruce Springsteen with the family he so adored. Jim was a hero to his family and will be remembered with love always. Sandra, beloved wife of Bob Stoutenburg of Collingwood. Loving mother of Shannon and her husband Mike Aikens and Christopher Stoutenburg. Will be forever cherished in the hearts of her grandchildren Jacey and Jackson Aikens. Survived also by her brothers Rick and his wife Cathy and Mike and his wife Danielle Robinson. CRAWFORD, Fraser Earl - of Port Colborne passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday April 24, 2007 at the Port Colborne General Hospital at the age of 53 years. He is survived by his loving children Travis Crawford and Nadine Crawford (Matthew Proulx) and their mother Mary Francine Crawford. Dear brother of Kyle Crawford (Sally), Dwight Crawford (Julia) and Randy Crawford (Debbie), dear uncle of Christine, Tammy, Lorraine, Deanna, Wade, Jeffery, Keith and Jake. He will also be sadly missed by his special step-children Myranda and Stacey. He will be sadly missed by all his loving family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Earl and Mildred Crawford. Anne Marie (Nee Brooks) Dillon

DILLON Anne Marie (Nee Brooks) passed away suddenly at Toronto Western Hospital April 22, 2007 in her 67th year, surrounded by her loving family. Anne will be deeply missed by husband Ron and children Phil (Melanie), Debbie Leighton (John) and Geoffrey. Nana is sadly missed by grandchildren Gregory and Nicholas. Dear sister of brothers Douglas (Nicole), Kenneth (Susan) and Michael (Trish) Brooks. Also lovingly remembered by brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews and great nieces. Anne was active in the real estate field in Durham Region for 20 years. She and her husband retired and moved to Belmont Lake, near Havelock, Ontario. At Anne's request, cremation was arranged and a private family service will be held at Welland, Ontario which was her birthplace. Interment will be in Doan's Ridge cemetery , Welland beside her deceased parents Jack and Anna Brooks (Nee Montean). Brother of the late Irena (Giuseppe) Fratangelo of St. Catharines, Carmela (Paolo) Ferrante of St. Catharines, Giuseppe (Giovanna) Di Santo of St. Catharines, the late Luigi (Antonietta) Di Santo of Switzerland, Sister Lucia Di Santo of Italy, the late Filomena (Maurizio) Petrucci of Argentina. Mr. Di Santo was an active member of St. Alfred's Church, helped found the St. Alfred's Senior Citizens Club and was an usher with the church. Mr. Di Santo is resting at GEORGE DARTE NORTH CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Saturday at 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 9:30 a.m. with Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn cemetery Mausoleum. Loving father of Daniel (Carla), David, Kelly Peletier (Vic) and Leanne Richard (Chris). Dear brother of Mary Smith (Ron), David Graham (Helen), Gladys Brewer (Art 2004) and Wilson Graham (Donna). Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by the family of his companion, Shirley Wilson (2006) and many friends in Chippawa. Matt was retired from the General Motors foundry. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Matt's life, for family and close friends, will take place at a later date. LAPINE, Erva - After a brief illness at the NHS - General Site on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Raymond (1986). Cherished mother of Linda Lapine, Valerie Cook, Heather Idzenga (Ron Lyon), Paul Lapine and Joy Lapine (Patricia Toth). She will be greatly missed by her 8 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Sandra Hale (Alan). She is predeceased by her brother Howard Carley. Erva was a Past President of the Merritton Lionettes and a past member of Rebekah Lodge #87. Mrs. Lapine is at the NIAGARA ST. CHAPEL of BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Niagara St. (south of Scott) where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, April 30th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Charles Alfred Webb

WEBB, Charles Alfred - On Wednesday, April 25, 2007 surrounded by his loving family, Charles left to join his wife of sixty two years Mary Jean Atherton Hall (June 9, 2006). Loved father of Beverley (Dean) Culliford, Dennis (Helen) Webb, Dale (Joan) Webb and Dean (Brenda) Webb. Will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Susan, John, Stephanie, Nathaniel, Amber, Rachael, Owen and Matthew and his great- granddaughter Tia. Brother of Velma Russell and Doug (Nancy) Webb. Brother- in-law of Agnes Wilson, Tom (Ethel) Atherton, Shirley (Peter) Nazwaski, Myrtle (Malcolm) Wardman, Emily (Pat) Gorman and Joyce Webb. Predeceased by his brothers Roy (2005) and Carl (2006). Charles was a veteran of WWII serving with the 48th Highlanders in the Canadian Army in Sicily and Italy. He was a postal carrier in St. Catharines for 34 years until his retirement in 1979. An avid lawn bowler, he was a member of the Glenridge Lawn Bowling Club for many years and later Port Dalhousie LBC. He was involved in many of the activities at Ina Grafton Gage and will be missed by the friends he made there. Charles was involved in both his children's and grandchildren's sport activities always appearing on the sidelines to cheer them on. The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. A private service for family members will be held in the chapel on Saturday, April 28, 2007. Interment will take place at a later date in Maple Lawn cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ina Grafton Gage Foundation.
