Dorothy (nee Cubbon) Haley - 04/17/2003

Quietly in her 85th year on Tuesday April 15th, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Fred. Loving mother of Dianne (Ted) of Calgary, John (Cecile) of Oshawa and Alan (Donna) of Parry Sound. Devoted grandmother of Rhonda, Sheryl, Nicholas, Jonathan and Mathieu Haley. Dear sister of Peggy Allen, Barbara Liddiard, John Cubbon. And Bill Cubbon. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Saturday April 19th, 2003 after 2:00pm until service time in the Chapel at 4:00pm. A reception will follow. Memorial donations to The Olde Forge Community Resource Center or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Peacefully in hospital on Passover, on Thursday, April 17, 2003, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of Etta and dear father of Barry (Brenda) and Rona Schaenfield (David). Loving grandfather of Brett and Hillary Schaenfield. Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue on Sunday, April 20, 2003 (time to be confirmed). Dr. Wilfred Hook - 04/11/2003

passed away peacefully on April 8, 2003 at the age of 85. Survived by his two daughters, Margaret Dale and Rosemary Cochrane, both of Woodstock. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Friday, April 11, 2003 from 1pm until Service time in the Chapel at 3pm.

Mary Osborne Howie - 04/13/2003

After a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Thursday, April 10, 2003, age 75 years. Beloved wife of the late Albert Howie. Loving mother of David (Wendy) and Graham (Jackie). Cherished grandma of Benjamin, Allison, Esther and Daniel. A special thank you to the staff of the Queensway Carleton Hospital and neighbours for their care and compassion. Friends may attend a Celebration of Mary's Life at the Memorial Funeral Home, 584 Somerset Street West on Monday, April 14, 2003 at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Haswell Fletcher (Kip) Kippen - 04/15/2003

Former Owner Noel Kerr Ltd. Peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, 2 weeks shy of his 89th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Elleen Mahon and brother of the late Jean Robillard (Rock). Son of the late Angus and Sarah Kippin. Uncle Kip is survived by several relatives in Elleen s family, including his sister-in-law Mildred Mahon. He was much loved, appreciated and respected by his 3 nieces, Wendy McKinnon (Al), Patty Jeffrey (David) Nancy Du Vall (Joe) and their children/ Any, Casey, Katie, Maggie, Brendan and Rebecca. Kip will be missed by fellow members of the Ottawa Hunt Club and the former Laurentian Club. He was proudly able to live independently until several days ago. Subsequently, he received the best of care by compassionate staff and nurses, at both the Empress in Kanata and the Queensway Carleton Hospital. A close friend and avid fellow skier, Fr. Tom Kelly once wrote to Kip and included in his letter a poem entitled Mountain Top Men Vision . Like the Alpine Guide and avid skier, great men would have as their epitaph He died climbing . This would certainly hold true of Uncle Kip during his final days. Friends may attend a Memorial Service at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 7 p.m., followed by a reception in the McGarry Family Reception Centre. Friends desiring to make a memorial contribution may do so to the C.N.I.B. or St. Brigid s Summer camp, 2339 Ogilvie Road, P.O. Box 46129, Ottawa, Ontario, K1J 9M7

passed away in Ottawa on April 6, 2003. Dear wife of Robert Lapens e, daughter of the late Philippe Legault and the late Rose Boileau. She will be sadly missed by her children Luc (Elizabeth), Martine (Oscar), Marc (Francine), Isabelle (Denis), her grandchildren Kyle, Matthew, Sophie, Kurt, Alexandre, Caroline, Philippe and Karyne, her brothers Jean-Jacques (Denise) and Fran ois (Micheline). A special thank you to Dr. W. Winzer, Dr. A. Haq, and Dr. Louise Coulombe, and her sister-in-law in particular, Denise Legault, for her loving care given to Louise. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway, on Friday April 11 from 2 to 4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday April 12 from 9 to 10am. Colonel (Retired) GM CD At his home in Ottawa, on Wednesday 16 April, 2003, at age 74. Son of the late Walter Leonard Marsh and Clara Elizabeth Marsh. Bill is survived by his wife Margaret Ann Marsh, his son John David Marsh, and his sister Mary Elizabeth Tarbet. He will be missed by his friends and fellow members of the Royal Canadian Air Force, especially the Sabre Pilots Association and Alumni of Royal Roads and the Royal Military College. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway, on Monday, April 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow. Interment Beechwood cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations made in Bill s memory to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
