ARMSTRONG - Linda may
Born in Brantford, Ontario on May 25, 1920. Passed peacefully in the company of her husband at Cassellholme on Monday August 29, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Dear wife of Robert Herbert Martin (Bob). Loving mother of Bob (Sherrylee) of North Bay and Brenda Williamson (Grant) of Grande Prairie, AB. Sadly missed by her granddaughters Diana and Kathryn. Survived by her brothers Bruce and David Wheatley. Predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Jessie Wheatley and by her sister Julia Munro. Linda's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cassellholme and at Paramed for all of their care and guidance. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

All who knew Linda are invited to join her family for a luncheon in the Blossom Room at Cassellholme on Thursday September 1st from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.

If desired donations to the Alzheimers Society or the CNIB would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home.

MOORE-RINGUETTE (nee nee Yeates) - Ann Ruth
At Nipissing Manor Nursing Home on Sunday August 28, 2005 in her 91st year. Ann married Eugene Ringuette July 6, 1934, (deceased 1954) and in April 1959, she married Clinton Moore. (deceased 1967). She was the loved mother of Grenville Ringuette (Germaine, deceased) of North Bay, Nancy Tremblay (Frank) also from North Bay, Jeannine Lebel (Rheal) of Powassan, Noella Chandler (Wayne) of Carlisle, Ont., JoAnn Hynd of Corbeil, Roger Ringuette (friend Karen) of North Bay, Debbie Park (Harley) of Callander, Leola Wildman Robert) of Little Britain, Ont., Shawn Moore (Cindy) of Rutherglen, And step-mother of Eleanor Portugaise (Lorne, deceased) of St. Catharines, Eddie Moore (Linda) of North Bay, Gary Moore (Linda) of Thorsby AB, Beverly Schmidt (Willie) of Thorsby, Alberta, Diane Stone (Donald) of St. Thomas, Ont. and Gordon Moore (Marie) of Simcoe. Ann is predeceased by her step-children, Clinton Moore Jr. (1993) and Donald Moore (2003) as well as by her parents Henry Yeates and Elizabeth Hall who emigrated from England to Canada in the early 1890's, brothers Howard, Charlie and Harry Yeates and sisters Caroline Hart, Elsie Lamothe, Evelyn Gordon and Mary Amell. 55 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren survive Ann. Ann loved her large family and will be greatly missed by all of them and her many friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, needle point and attending church.

The family will receive at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Alphonsus Church in Callander. Interment to follow at the Callander Union cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to North Bay Right To Life or the charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

VEZINA (nee Miller) - Stella Beatrice
passed away suddenly at North Bay, on Monday, August 29, 2005. Stella Miller was the beloved wife of the late Armand Vezina, she was in her 88th year. Loving mother of Brian and his wife Joan and Valerie and her husband Dave Evans all of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Belinda and her husband Steve Laird and Michael Vezina. Stella will be sadly missed by her sister in law Betty Vezina of North Bay, by her cousins Cecil Patterson of Kingston, Berton and Dolores Miller and Dennis, Marg Patterson all of Gaspe, Percy and Donna Miller and Wendell & Jean Millerr all of North Bay and Ivan and Julia Patterson and by her nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Thursday from 2 -4 and 7 -9:00 PM. Funeral Services from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 2nd, at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St.John's Anglican cemetery.

If desired, Stella's family would ask friends to Plant a Tree in her memory or make a donation to a Charity of your Choice.

ORTON - Melville 'Mel'
passed away peacefully at the Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Center on Thursday, September 1, 2005. Melville "Mel" Orton, was the beloved husband of the late Ruby May Claridge, he was in his 96th year. Loving father of Glen of Callander. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Shana and Jason. He was the dear sister of Stella. Predeceased by his parents Hebert and Catherine and by his siblings Herb, Jim, Thorton, Clinton, Reggy, Beatrice and Edna. Remembered by Debbie and many friends. Mel worked as a Carmen with the Canadian Pacific Railway for many years, and he and Ruby owned and operated Clear Lake Camp in Restoule for 40 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 445, in Callander. If desired, donations to the Nipissing Manor Auxiliary or to a Charity of Choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Monday from 2 -4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 6th, at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in the Nipissing Village cemetery.

VANDEN-BERGHE - Alfonse
Suddenly at his residence in North Bay, on Friday, September 2, 2005. Alfonse was in his 49th year. Sadly missed by his loving daughters Jennifer Vanden-Berghe (fiancée Mike) of St. Thomas and Natasha Vanden-Berghe of North Bay. Dear brother of Terry Vanden-Berghe, Audrey Boyce (husband Douglas), Maurice Vanden-Berghe, Wayne Vanden-Berghe (wife Debbie) all of London, Margaret Wickwire (husband Rodger) of St. Thomas, Gary Schlintner, Monika Schlintner(husband John Hines) both of Woodstock, and Sisiy (husband Paul Meadows) of Ingersol. Predeceased by his brother Johnathen Stephenson and by his mother May Schlintner. Also sadly missed by his grandson Logan McCoombs and by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Alfonse family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 until time for Funeral services at 3:00 PM. The service will be conducted by Major Carletta Thornhill of the Salvation Army. Cremation to follow the service.

ELZINGA - Ruth
passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Thursday, September 8, 2005, Ruth (nee Kilburn), was in her 69th year. She was the loving mother of Paul (Leah), Tim (Sue), Dan all of North Bay and Chris (Paula) of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jenn (Kevin Elsey), Julie, TJ, Krista, Michael, Charlotte and Nicholas. Ruth will be sadly missed by her best friends Ann Robb and Sandra Swannell (Bruce) both of North Bay. She will be dearly missed by her sister Joan Cooper (Les). Ruth for many years owned and operated the Seven Seas Family Restaurant on Trout Lake Road.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Saturday, September 10th, at 1:00 PM. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

If desired, donations to the NEO Regional Cancer Center or the JDRF would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

ROBERTS - Dorothy 'Alfreda'
Suddenly at home with her family by her side on Friday September 9, 2005 at 71 years of age. Dear wife of Bruce. Loving mother of Lloyd Jr. 'Buck' Belanger (wife Bernie) of Little Current, Jo-Anne Mott (husband John) of Edmonton and Patti Drake (husband Rob) of Mississauga. Sadly missed by grandchildren Kelly, Michelle, Christopher, Carol, Adam and Matthew and by great grandchildren Justin and Julia. Survived by her brother Humphrey. Predeceased by her parents Israel and Elizabeth Beaudin, sister Margaret and brothers John, Albert, Stan, Wes and Charlie.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium and burial of ashes in Little Current.

If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimers Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

IRVINE - Fred
At North Bay General Hospital- Scollard site. On Sunday September 11, 2005. Frederick Herbert Allan Irvine, beloved husband of Shirley Mundell Kilpatrick, in his 80 year. Dearly loved brother of Alan Irvine and his wife Joan, Gordon S. Irvine both of Hamilton and brother in law of Ruth Irvine of Barrie. Fondly remembered by his nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents L.J. (Lou) and Thirza Irvine and by his brother Victor. Fred worked as an Enforcement Officer for the M.T.C for a number of years. He had been stationed in Bracebridge, North Bay, Hamilton and then back to North Bay, retiring in 1986. He was a life member of the Corinthian Lodge No, 657 A.F. & A.M. in Kirkland Lake, a member of the Lakeland Chapter #245 Order of the Eastern Star in Bracebridge and the North Bay Rorad Shrine Club.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Emmanuel United Church on Saturday, September 17th, at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes followed at the North Bay Union cemetery.

If desired donations to the Shriner's Children Hospital will be gratefully acknowledge as expressions of sympathy.

HARLING - Elsie Adelaide
At North Bay General Hospital-Scollard Site on Saturday September 10, 2005. Elsie Adelaide Norman, dearly loved wife of the late Reginald H. Harling, in her 87th year. Dear mother of Norma Gauthier (Robert) of Sault Ste. Marie, Howard (Joan) of North Bay, & Margaret Ehman ( Mark) of Vernon B.C. Elsie was predeceased by her son Edward and will be sadly missed by his wife Valerie also of North Bay. Dear sister of Harvey Norman (Betty) & Thelma McCarthy (Reg) all of North Bay, Ernie Norman (Doris 'Val') & Jean Hall (the late Don) both of Ottawa. Also predeceased by brothers Stanley (the late Evelyn), Bill (Joan), Arthur (Florence), Everett (Winnie) & Gordon (the late Pat) and sisters Beatrice Passmore (the late George), Margaret Bullock (the late Bob) & Elizabeth Jackson (the late Allan). Dearly loved grandmother to Susan, Daniel, Jamie, Christy, Lee-Ann, Sarah, Katherine, Wendy, Lisa and Stephanie. Great-grandmother to Laura Beth, Timothy, Sean, Emma, Logan, Diana, Robert, Kylie, Graci, Rayna, Olivia, Karam, and Ethan. Elsie was a former employee of the Board of Education, working in the Administration offices for many years.

Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday September 13th from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held in Omond Memorial United Church on Wednesday September 14th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Terrace Lawn cemetery.

SMYTH - Frances
At North Bay General Hospital- Scollard Site, on Sunday September 11, 2005. Frances Beach, beloved wife of the late Maurice Philbert & the late William Earl Smyth, in her 76th year. Dearly loved mother of Peter Philbert & his wife Trudy of North Bay. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey Philbert & his wife Jay and Jennifer Philbert. Beloved great-grandmother of Jordon and Kennedy Philbert. Predeceased by her brother Robert Beach (Lillias) of Powassan.

In respect to wishes left by Frances, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at Forest Lawn Crematorium.

AMBROSIUS - Gertrude Maria
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Gertrude passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and close friends, on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. Gertrude, was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Erb. Gertrude will be lovingly remembered as an exceptional mother by her daughter Carol Stalkie and her husband Carman of Brampton and by her son Edward Ambrosius of Toronto. Loving and dear grandmother of Andrew Stalkie. She will be dearly remembered by her sister Helga Twaroch of Austria and by her mother in law Charolotte Babrowski of Whitby. She was predeceased by her sisters Margaretha Burger and Johanna Strobl. Gertrude was born in Vienna, Austria on February 20, 1931. She immigrated to Canada in August of 1954, living in the Toronto Area until moving to North Bay in 1975.

Gertrude's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17th from 2 - 4 and also 6:30 until time for services in the Funeral Home Chapel at 7:30 PM. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the NEO Regional Cancer Center would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Gertrude's family with deep appreciation would like to thank the VON, Dr. Cano, Dr. Vaughan, Paramed and the CCAC for their care which allowed mom to die with dignity in her home. "You will be missed by all forever"
