Peacefully at home on. Friday, June 20, 2003, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of Gertrude (nee Delorme) and loving father of Richard, Paul (Robyn), Peter (Shelley), Susan (Harvey Dorman) and Cathy ( Bérubé). Dear grandfather of Jerry, Maryl and Antony. Predeceased by his brother, Keith. Friends may attend a Memorial Service at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playlair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 1:30 p.m. Interment Notre Dame cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Anna Gladys Anderson (nee Hutton) - 06/26/2003
Peacefully at the Empress Kanata Retirement Residence on Thursday, June 26, 2003, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Delmer Anderson. Dear mother of Mary Gayle (Lloyd) Pinkney of Kanata and Lynn (Heather) of Oakville. Cherished grandmother of Christopher (Mimi), Mary Ellen (Warren), Laurie, Jamie (Sue) and Julie. Loving great-grandmother of Jakob, Jaxon, Ryan, Troy and Sierra. Will be missed by nephew Allan (Leslee) Lamb and grand-nephew Chris Lamb. Predeceased by her sisters, Viola Hutton, Reta Lamb and Lottie MacEwen and brother, Alfred Hutton. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to everyone at the Empress Kanata for their kindness, friendship and loving care. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Dorothy Balloch - 06/21/2003

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, June 21, 2003, aged 66 years. Wife of the late David Balloch. Loving mother of Linda (Ted Schultz), Deborah (Ken Bonell), Davyd (Karen Christie), Kathleen (Tom Connolly), Wendy (Doug Tattrie), John, Heather (Mike Miller), Zachary and predeceased by sons, Daniel and Robert. Loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren. Also survived by a sister Norma (Donald Pyefinch) and a brother Daniel Lukyniuk. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Thursday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit of Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Laurie and staff at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre and the staff and volunteers at EBHC.

Brian John Buck - 06/18/2003

Peacefully on Tuesday afternoon June 17, 2003 of ALS at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband od Mavis (nee Gates). Loving father of David, Deborah, Marcus (Norma Moores) and Harvey (Michelle Davidson). Devoted grandfather of Caroline and Brian Babcock, Kelly and Shannon Buck. Dear brother of Pat Buck (Laura), Mary Bradley, Berna Turner, Doris (Mervin Wilcox) and the late Charlie, Eddie, Fred, Irwin, Bud, Alice and Ethel. Brian was devoted to his famil yand church, retired employee of the Defence Research Board and Department of Labour, he loved the outdoors and was an avid Ottawa 67's fan in his last years. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Thursday, June 19, 2003 from 7-9pm and on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Service at City View United Church, 6 Epworth Avenue on Saturday, June 21, at 10a.m. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. Memorial donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated.

Danielle Françoise (nee Hunter) Burrows - 06/19/2003

Peacefully at home, on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, age 42 years. Loving wife of Bruce and devoted mother of Sarah and Claire. Dear daughter of Marie-Claire Coutraz of Switzerland and Alan Hunter (Gloria) of Montreal and daughter-in-law of Charles Burrows of Toronto. Cherished sister of Sidonie Hunter (Nicolas Vuadens) of Switzerland and Ian Hunter of New York. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 125 MacKay Street, Ottawa, on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at 11am., followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Breast Cancer Research, 106-111 Albert Street, Ottawa, K1P 1B1 or the Hospice at May Court (for Palliative care) 114 Cameron Ave, Ottawa, K1S 0X1 would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry.

Maurice Ducharme - 06/27/2003

In hospital on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at the age of 83. Dearly beloved husband of Evelyn (nee Reid). Dear father of Eric (anne), Daphne (Raymond Leblanc), Ian and Joey (Paola Marrone). Also loved by his grandchildren Ashley, Ilinca, Aicha, Eva, Reid and Mia. Dear brother of Eva, Emile (the late Géralda), Alida (Alide Sévigny), Sister Simone and Gérard (Suzette). Predeceased by his three sisters Anna, Aurore and Edna. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Sunday, June 29, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7-9pm and Monday, June 30, 2003 from 9:30am followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, 55 Appleford Road, Ottawa at 11:00am Interment Notre-Dame cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Trans Canada Trail Foundation, 43 Westminster North, Montreal West, PQ, H4X 1Y8 would be appreciated by the family.

Bryn (Brinley) Evans - 06/24/2003

Peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 23, 2003. at the age of 94. Bryn came to Canada with his family in 1952 where he held the post of Scientific Glassblower at the National Research Council, Ottawa, until his retirement in 1974. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Celia: his son, Ken (Bonni) and his daughter, Hilary. Predeceased by his brother, William. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday, June 27, 2003 from 1 p.m. until service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Cremation. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Room H2-1, 40 Ruskin Street, Ottawa K1 4W7. Special thanks to the staff and nurses at the New Edinburgh Square for their loving care and compassion.

Audrey Reeve Froome - 06/25/2003

(nee Morris) After a short illness, on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, peacefully with her family and friends by her side, five days after her 80th birthday. Just 6 months following the passing of her beloved husband of 54 years, Ronald, Audrey was also predeceased by her parents, William and Elsie Morris and sisters Ruth Wiltsie and Eileen Henniger. She was a much-caring and loving mother to her three children, Judy, Kathy and John (Debbie), a wonderful Nana to Christina (Ken Haldenby), David and Jennifer and a doting great-grandmother to Liam. She will also be missed by many other family members and friends. Following retirement after forty-four years with the Canadian National Livestock Record Office, Audrey volunteered for several years at General Vanier Public School. She touched so many as a true friend, including neighbours, her friends from camping days, the Kiwanis circle, McLeod-Stewarton and Riverside United Churches, the swimming pool and the bridge table. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street om Thursday, June 26, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, June 27, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. until service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Donations to a charity of your Choice. Thanks to Dr. Patricia Morris for her support over the years and to the caring staff of 8 West, at the General Hospital.

Gertrude Ellen Gabie (nee Carruthers) - 06/22/2003

Suddenly in hospital on Sunday, June 22nd, 2003 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Bert Gabie. Dear mother of Fay Kern, Sharon Dunbar (lan) Donald, Ruth Gabie, David (Donna), Kevin (Hillary). Also loved by her seven granddaughters, three grandsons and one great-grandson. Predeceased by two brothers, Nobel and Arnold, and four sisters, Elizabeth, Elmira, Loretta and Hertha. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, June 24th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 25th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, June 26th at 11 a.m. Interment St. Paul’s United cemetery , Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkway Road Pentecostal Church, 7275 Parkway Road, Greely, ON, K4P 1K7 would be appreciated by the family.

Anne Gencher (née Morganstern) - 06/22/2003

Peacefully with her family by her side, at the age of 92 years on Sunday June 22nd, 2003. Predeceased by her husband Joseph she will be very sadly missed by her loving son Harvey and daughter-in-law Charlotte. Cherished grandmother of Jodi and Jason. Predeceased by her brother Max and sister Sophie. She will be fondly remembered by all of her family and many friends. A Graveside Service will be held at the Jewish Community cemetery , Bank Street. on Tuesday June 24th, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Shiva will be held at 10 Felstead Gardens. A special thank you to all the staff at Hillel Lodge for their care and compassion. Donations to Hillel Lodge would be appreciated.
