TABLER - Iris
Suddenly at North Bay General Hospital-Scollard Site on Tuesday September 23, 2003. Iris, beloved wife of Fritz Tabler. Loving mother of Garfield Brush (Gail) of North Bay, Billy Brush (Joanne) of Sault-Ste. Marie, and Harold Brush (Terry) of North Bay. Proud grandmother of Jennifer, Tracy, Terri-Lynn, Jamie & Billy; great-grandmother of Dustin, Chelsee, and Arthur. Dear sister of Eva Lesley. Predeceased by her grandson Shawn Brush. Friends may call at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Northeastern Regional Cancer Research Centre would be appreciated.

CAMPAGNA - Maria
It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Campagna announce her passing after a lenghly illness. Maria passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Friday September 26, 2003. She was born in Pisterza, Italy in 1921 and came to Canada in 1936. Maria is predeceased by her parents Enrico and Anna Ceccanese and an infant daughter, Concetta. Maria will be sadly missed by her husband of 64 years, Domenico; and two daughters, Connie Shields (Peter) and Anna Harper (Harry). She is also survived by one brother, one sister, four grandchildren Phillip, Lisa, Robbie and Steven, and five great-grandchildren. Many thanks to the staff at Cassellholme and the North Bay General Hospital for all their kindness and support. Family will receive friends at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) today from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Maria's life will be conducted in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. by Reverend Albert Falconi. A private interment to follow at a later time.

If desired a donation to the Pump Fund or charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

BROWN - Charles
At the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday September 27th, following a brief illness, at the age of 79 years. Charles Edward Brown was the beloved husband of the late Merril Jessie (nee Finnen) who predeceased him in January of 2002. Dear father of Judy Burke (Don Luxton) of North Bay, Ron (Lynne) of Vancouver, Hal (Lise) of Niagara Falls, Edward "Ted" (Janet) of Almonte, and Beth of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, he will also be sadly missed by his sister Phyllis Rowe (Bob deceased) of North Bay. Charles was proud to have served as a wireless operator on a Lancaster bomber, a member of the Pathfinder Squadron, during WW II. He developed a great passion for radio and has been a dedicated HAM operator for many years. He and Merril and their family enjoyed camping at Sid Turcotte Park in Mattawa and trailered there for close to thirty years. The Brown family will receive friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 1st, 2003. Cremation will follow at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

If desired donations to the Heart & Stroke Fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

PERRY - Eleanor
After a lengthy illness at Cassellholme on Friday October 3, 2003 in her 87th year. Eleanor was born on June 1, 1917 at Tara, Grey County, Ontario. She is survived by her loving brother Louis Buckley (Christina) of North Bay, and by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Frank Perry, her parents, Elgin & Ethel Buckley, and her brothers Irwin, Howard and Robin. A long time resident of Redbridge, Ontario, Eleanor was an active member of the community. She was a member of Phelps United Church and Phelps Golden Age Club. She was employed as secretary at Phelps Public School and also as secretary/treasurer for the Phelps Local Roads Board. Eleanor loved to knit, embroider and quilt. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. She was an excellent cook, who loved to bake and her delicious fudge lingers yet, on the taste buds of many a relative and friend. Eleanor loved camping and was an avid fisherwoman. Her family and friends will miss her. Visitation at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Sunday October 5th from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Monday October 6th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Terrace Lawn cemetery.

A donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Phelps Golden Age or charity of choice would be appreciated. A special thank you to the Staff of Cassellholme for their kindness and caring.

SWANT - Clifford
After a courageous battle with cancer, at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Friday, October 3, 2003. Clifford Keith Swant, was the beloved husband of Muriel Elaine Piche, in his 74th year. Beloved son of Agnes (nee Buffet) and the late Herbert Swant. Loving father of Doug Swant and his wife Joan of Chatham and Debra Davidson and her husband Les of Australia. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michael, Megan, Heidi-Lee, David, Brandon, Wesley, Sarah, Philip and great grandchildren Michael, Heidi-Marie and Tatum. His siblings Floyd Swant (wife Iris) of Sault Ste. Marie, Shirley MacHale (husband Rod) of Elliott Lake and Barbara Franklin (husband Bob) of Redbridge will dearly remember Cliff. Predeceased by his brother Reg. Dearly remembered by his sister in law Marilyn. Funeral services will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 6th, at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at the Forest Lawn cemetery.

ALCORN - Robert
Robert passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2003 at the age of 62, with his family by his side, after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Bette (nee Ballantyne). Loving father of Jane Haddow (Cam) of North Bay, Linda Brox (Dennis) of Cambridge and Patricia Carr of North Bay. Loving Grandpa to Kendall & Lindsay Haddow and Jesse & Matt Carr. Dearly loved brother of Barb Steele (George) and Debbie Ouellette (Ray) all of North Bay. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Susan Alcorn, his sister Karen and brothers-in-law Jim Robillard and Don Ballantyne. Remembered by sister & brother-in-law Dodie, (Ballantyne) and Dr. John Premi of Burlington, sister-in-law Angie Ballantyne of Sault Ste. Marie and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Bud was retired from Boart Longyear after 38 years and was a member of the Widdifield Lions Club for 32 years. He was involved in industrial fastball, slow pitch and the old timers leagues for many years. Bud was an avid hockey supporter of the North Bay Trappers, Centennials and Skyhawks. Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) today from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services from the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 7th, at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at the Forest Lawn cemetery.

HAZZARD - Michael
Died at his residence in Bonfield after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Monday, September 29, 2003. Michael Dalton Hazzard, was the beloved husband of Rose-Ann Quigley, in his 50th year. Loving father of Aleah and grandfather of Taylor. Michael was the dear son of Dalton & Jackie Hazzard of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by his siblings John of North Bay, Debra and her husband Carl of Powassan, Bev and her husband Mick of North Bay, Brian and his wife Linda of Florida and Chris also of North Bay. Dearly loved son in law of Joe & Sylvia Quigley, and brother in law of Cindy and her husband Randy and Byron and his wife Joanne. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Michael was a Truck Driver and will be sadly missed by his many friends. At Michael's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Cremation.

LUXTON - Gail
Peacefully on Monday October 13, 2003 at Cassellholme. Gail, beloved wife of the late Robert "Bob" Luxton. Loving mother of Darlene Pepin (Graham), Kathy Arbour (husband Denis), Murray Luxton, and Karen Blackwell (husband David). Proud grandmother of Matthew, Victoria, Jason, Adrean, and Jessica; great-grandmother of Demitra. Survived by her sister June Loiselle. Predeceased by her son Gerald Luxton. Friends may call at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday October 14th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Cremation with interment of ashes at St. John's Anglican cemetery.

Peacefully on Monday October 13, 2003 at Nipissing Manor Nursing Home. Alma, beloved wife of 55 years of Peter Clarke, in her 81st year. Loving mother of Wayne (wife Carmen), Lorne, Eric "Joe"(wife Debra), Peter (wife Sue), and Bob (wife Dianne). Proud grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of three. Survived by her sisters Barbara and Shirley. Predeceased by her son John, sister Babe, and brother Jim. Friends may call at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Friday October 17th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday October 18th from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m.

EVES - Wilmer
Peacefully on Sunday October 12, 2003 at Kingston General Hospital. Wilmer, beloved husband of Laura Eves (nee York), in his 83rd year. Loving father of Sylvia Quigley (Joseph), Dennis Eves, Marion Battiston (Raymond), and Barbara Mousseau (Gregory). Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday at 2pm. Interment to follow at the Callander Union cemetery.

At North Bay, on Friday, October 17th, 2003, she was the beloved wife of the late Robert Samuel Hadley, in her106th year. Loving mother of Mary and grandmother of Robert. Lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren. Cremated. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home.

CARTER - Patricia
Died at Cassellholme, on Sunday, October 19, 2003. Patricia Trevorrow, was the beloved wife of the late Jack Critchlow and Vic Carter in her 84 th year. Loving mother of Wendy Nuis and her husband Henry of Stokes Bay, Ontario, Linda Beatty of North Bay, Jean Gaskin of Toronto and mother in law of Janet Critchlow of Milford Bay. Predeceased by her sons Lynn and John Critchlow and by her grandson Craig Nuis. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jeff Critchlow, Laura Piche, Steve Nuis, Derreck Beatty, Ashley-Brook Gaskin, Paige Gaskin, Knox Gaskin and by her 9 great grandchildren. Remembered by her special friend Bob Leppan. Patricia's family would like to thank all the staff at the Empire Living Center and Cassellholme for their wonderful care. JONES - Peggy
Suddenly at Barclay House, North Bay on Monday October 20th, 2003, while in her 78th year. Peggy Lillian Eva Cuppage, beloved wife of the late Jack "Buck"Jones. Predeceased by her brothers George and Art she is survived by a brother Jim. Peggy will be sadly missed by Bill & Betty Thomson, and their family, of Orillia. Born in Orillia, Ontario. Peggy & Buck moved to North Bay in the 1950's. For several years Peggy was employed in the office at North Bay Auto Electric. She then moved to the administration at the North Bay Police Force retiring from there in the 1980's. She will be remembered by many for her involvement with the IODE, the Eastern Star, Shrine Ladies and the Bell Pioneers. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home, (across from city hall) on Wednesday afternoon from 2 - 4 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the Doolittle Carson funeral Home, Orillia, on Thursday October 23rd at 1:00p.m. Interment of ashes to be in St. Andrew's Cemetey, Orillia. No flowers please.

SKOVBJERG - Aage
passed away peacefully at the home of his son in Niagara Falls, on Wednesday, October 22, 2003. Aage was the beloved husband of Gladys Marknette (for 38 years), he was in his 76th year. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Kirsten Hebert and her husband Rodney and his son John Skovbjerg and his wife Tammy all of Niagara Falls. Loving grandfather of Christopher, Tyler and Justin. Born in Herning, Denmark on August 16, 1928. Aage came to North Bay in 1951 and in 1953 started Mid-North Aluminum, which he owned and operated for 45 years. A Memorial Service will be held at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL (across from City Hall) on Monday October 27, 2003 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

BURCH - Doris
passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital (Scollard site) on October 25, 2003 in her 94th year. Beloved mother of Karen Robertson of Ottawa, Beverley MacFarlane (William) of North Bay and Doug (Laurette) Burch of Winnepeg. Loving grandfather of Erin, Neil (Gisele), Blair (Anne), Graham (Tammy), Randy (Maureen), Karen, Billy (Sandee), Jodi (Terry) and Dayle (Jerry), Greg and Clinton. Dear great grandfather of Michelle, Connor, Devon, Cody, Christopher, Emily, Jessa, Allie-Rose and Matthew. Sadly missed by her sisterSheila and brother Doug. Predeceased by her husband Harry Burch and by her siblings Ellwood, Ralph, Daphne, Dot and Phyllis. Visitation at the Martyn Funeral Home on Monday October 27th, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at St. John Anglican Church on Tuesday, October 28th at 2 p.m. with Rev M. Binks officiating. Interment at St. John cemetery. Doris was a local artist whos artwork is placed in many home throughout the nation.

ABRAHAMSEN - Roy
Peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital (Scollard site) on October 25th, 2003. Beloved husband of Cora Abrahamsen of North Bay. Loved father of Randi (Roland) Gailus of Toronto and Bob Abrahamsen of North Bay. Dear grandfather of Jillian (Rob) McLaren of Toronto. Will be sadly missed by his friends Sheldon and Helen McLaren. Predeceased by his siblings Ernie Abrahamsen and Elsa (Rudy) Storbraaten. Visitation at the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday October 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Wednesday October 29th, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Slote officiating. Interment Forest Lawn cemetery.
