LLOYD - Thomas George Bedford
At the North Bay General Hospital, on Sunday April 16th, 2006 at the age of 83 years.Thomas George Bedford Lloyd was the beloved husband of Helen Elizabeth Seebach, who predeceased him in1997. Proud and loving father of Tim Lloyd (Helen Buckie), Tracy Christanson, (Brodie) and Vicki Campbell (Jim). Dear Grandpa to Michael, James, David, and Steven. Son of the late Nora and Charles Lloyd formerly of Toronto, Tom is survived by his brothers Clarke and Peter.

A veteran of WW II Tom served in the Navy. His working life was spent with the Quaker Oats Company. A community minded man Tom was a former member of the Brampton town council. He was an active member of Powassan Lodge # 443, A.F. & A.M., the Rorab Shrine Club, the North Bay Heritage Railway and Community Waterfront Friends. He especially enjoyed his time as "Loco", with the Shrine Clown Unit. He was honored several years ago by North Himsworth Township as their Senior Citizen of the year.

Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday afternoon 2 - 4 pm and evening 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday April 19th at 1:30 pm. Cremation will follow with interment of ashes in the Callander Union cemetery. If desired donations to the North Bay Regional Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Sneaker Fund of the Shriners will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Yeoman - R. Grant
Grant Yeoman passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 20, 2001, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Iva Mary Yeoman (nee Laycox); they were in their 57th year of marriage. Dear father of David and his wife Audrey, Don and Frances, Kevin and his wife Janet, and Greg and his wife Stephanie. Loving grandfather of Maeghan, Tyler, Carolyn, Brandon, Connor, Carley and Graeme. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Grant retired as a flying officer in 1945 after a full tour with the RCAF, Sixth Bomber Group in Yorkshire, UK. He re-enlisted with the RCAF and retired as a Flight Sergeant in 1967. He was a civilian radio dispatcher with the OPP (North Bay) until his retirement in 1981. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday from 2:30 PM until time for services from the Funeral Home Chapel at 3:30 PM. Cremation to follow the Service.

Memorial donation to the Heart and Stroke or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Mrs Pigott (nee Curtis) - Irene
Suddenly at the Empire Living Centre on Sunday April 23, 2006 in her 90th year. Dear wife of the late Jack Pigott. Loving mother of Bill (Sharon) of Ottawa and Brent (Linda) of North Bay. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jennifer (Randy), Johanna, Julie (Michel) and Chris and her great grandchild Morgan. Survived by her sisters May, Hilda and Betty and by her brother Ron. Predeceased by brothers Bill, Norman and Jerry.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. Interment of ashes in the family plot at St. John’s Anglican cemetery.

If desired donations to the North Bay General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mr Brouse - Sterling
With sadness the Brouse family announces the death of Sterling at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa on Saturday, April 22nd 2006. He is survived by his wife Frances (Humphrey), son Tom (Laura Seymour) and daughter Cathy (Pat Mulligan), grandchildren Andrew, Jeff, Jordan and Kathleen Brouse, Julia, Heather, Robert and Nicholas Mulligan, sisters Beatrice Mannella, Lila Mooney and Helen Gibson, brothers Donald and Leonard. Predeceased by his parents Gertrude and Silas Brouse, brothers Douglas and Alvin.

A Memorial Service will take place at St. Andrew’s United Church on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception at the church. Interment at Boxwell cemetery , Chisholm.

If desired donations to the St. Andrew’s United Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimers Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mr. Kazias - John Lazaros
passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard site on Sunday April 23, 2006 in his 63rd year. Dear father of David of Toronto and Neil (Stephanie) and Grandpa of Jacob and Jenna Kazias all of Bonfield. Beloved son of Sevasti Kazias and the late Lazaros Kazias of Toronto. Brother of Tom, of Milton and Mary of Guelph, Uncle of Kristine, Koreen and Michelle. Loving companion and dear friend of the family Bonnie Smith of Restoule. Long time employee of E.T.I. Explosives, Board of Directors North Bay Literacy Council, Lifetime Member of Nipissing Rifle and Revolver Club, Mentor to Near North High School Robotics Team and Member of the Nipissing Independent Union, up to the rank of President.

Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday April 28th from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday April 29 at 11 am. Internment to follow at the Forest Lawn cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, The North Bay Literacy Council or the Near North High School Robotics Team would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Mrs Child (nee McGillivray) - Verva
after a long, full life, Verva died peacefully on April 27, 2006, in her 87th year. She was born September 10, 1919, in Dalrymple, the middle child of 5 born to John A. and Annie McGillivray. Verva entered Nursing at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay and graduated as a Registered Nurse [RN] in 1942. She practised nursing at Toronto General Hospital until the end of the War in 1945, then moved to North Bay with her new husband, Murray Child. Verva took particular pride in her nursing career. She was Director of Nursing at the opening of Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan, then became Director of Nursing at Leisure World Home for the Aged in North Bay. She also contributed as a Director on the Board of Directors of The Victorian Order of Nurses and played a prominent role in the Rebekah Lodge. Verva was predeceased by her parents, siblings and husband Murray and son Gordon. She is survived by her son Ron [Kathleen] of Toronto, her daughter Karen [Michael] of Isle of Man UK, grandchildren Jennifer Janicas and Kathryn Child of Toronto and Rebecca and Briana Kirkwood of Isle of Man and great-grandchildren Phillip and Meghan Verva Janicas.

Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 2 pm. Interment following cremation will be with her late husband Murray and son Gordon at Bolsover cemetery.

If desired, flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the VON or the Sara Whitehead Scholarship Fund.

WRAIGHT - Joyce Elva 'Joy'
Safe in the arms of JesusPeacefully at the Sudbury Memorial Hospital, on Thursday May 4th, 2006, at the age of 85 years. Joyce Elva "Joy" (nee Hawman), was the beloved wife of the late Elmer Wraight. Proud and loving mother of Ted (Carol) of North Bay, Trudy Barber (John) of Calgary, Tom (Randi), and Wendy Gass (Peter) both of Callander. Joy will be lovingly remember by her ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Max (Mary of Sault Ste.Marie), Donald (Cecile of North Bay), and Harold (Joanne of St. Catherines), as well as her sister Maxine. She will also be sadly missed by her sister Irene Andersen of North Bay and her sister in law Ila Shail of Ottawa. Joy's family feel especially blessed to have shared the love of such a devoted mother and grandmother. She lived for her family and held each in a special place in her heart. A devoted Christian Joy was one of the founding members of the South Shore Evangelical Missionary Church and served as the church's Historian.

Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Sunday afternoon 2 - 4 pm and evening 7 - 9 pm., then on Monday at the South Shore Evangelical Missionary Church from 10 am until time for services at 11:00am. Interment to follow at 2:00pm. in the Boxwell cemetery.

SMITH - Allan Frederick
Suddenly at Gravenhurst on Friday, May 5, 2006. Allan was the beloved husband and best friend of Barbara Palmateer, he was 62 years old. Loving father of Kerri-Lynn Smith (Chad Eckensviller) of Trout Creek and James Smith of North Bay. He was the loving and devoted "Papa" of Jordon and Robynn. Lovingly remembered by his parents Frederick and Dorothy Smith and by his brother David Smith and Anne and their family all of Cambridge. Dearly loved son in law of Shirley Palmateer of Astorville. Allan worked for many years as the Procurement Manager with McIntosh Engineering.

Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Tuesday from 2 -4 and 7 -9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 10th, at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow the service.

If desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.

Mrs. Allard (nee Bush) - Bette
Peacefully on Thursday May 11, 2006 at North Bay General Hospital – McLaren Site. Bette, beloved wife of Howie Allard. Dear sister of Doris "Dodie” Lawson. She will be sadly missed by her nephews Rob & Tom Lawson, and many family and friends.

Friends may call at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME today from 7-9 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Erin Union cemetery on Monday at 11 a.m.

A donation to the Rotary Foundation would be appreciated as an expression of sympathy.

Miss MacMillan - Maria
Suddenly at her home on Saturday May 6th, 2006 at the age of 36 years. Maria MacMillan, dearly loved daughter of Floyd and Ruby MacMillan (nee Lacroix). Dear sister of Bruce and his partner Lorie, of Mississauga, Miles and his wife Somaya of North Bay and Marielle of Moosonee. Maria will be lovingly remembered by her nephews Devon and Aiden. Sadly missed by her aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. An avid athlete during her school years Maria enjoyed her studies, had a great love for music, and playing the piano. She was a graduate of Chippewa Secondary School and Nipissing University.

Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) this evening, Wednesday from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:30 pm. until for services in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn cemetery.

HAMELIN - RoseLee
At The North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Tuesday May, 23, 2006. RoseLee Hollands, beloved wife of Alcide "Al" Joseph Hamelin, she was 66 years old. Loving mother of Emile and his wife Margaret of Cache Bay, Roger and his wife Carole of North Bay and Cory of Kingston. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Sarah, Kristen, Eric, David, Tanesha, Alexandra and Andrew.She was the dearly loved sister of Wayne Hollands and his wife Rita of North Bay. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Cora Hollands and by her sister Sandra.

Visitation for RoseLee will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 -9:00 Pm. Funeral Services from the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 27th, at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes will follow at the Terrace Lawn cemetery.
