David Allan "Bubba" Walsh

WALSH, David Allan "Bubba" - May 4, 1962-May 8th, 2007. The family announces with great sorrow his passing on Tuesday, May 8th, 2007 in North Bay, Ontario at the age of 45 years. David was born and raised in Timmins where he played hockey and baseball for many years. He was a very dedicated sports minded man. In latter years he played on an outstanding old timers ball team with friends. He is survived by his wife Trina (Nee Foley) and his four children Brandon, Michael, Tiana and Karly Walsh. Survived by his parents Albert and Donna Walsh. Also survived by his siblings Ken Walsh (Cathy), Linda Fortier (Marc) and Donald Walsh (Angela). He will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He is the grandson of Victoria Walsh. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11th, 2007 in the CHAPEL of the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Minister Darlene Hardy will be officiating. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, remembrance donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Eva was born on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 and she passed away in her parents arms and surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 5th, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Cherished daughter of Mike and Janine (McKillop) Love. First grandchild for Brian and Sandra McKillop, Pat and Cathie Love, and Maxine Love. Niece of Jessica McKillop and Kris Love. Beloved wife of the late Jules A. Leonard. Dear mother of Lorraine Tishler and her husband Don of Grabill, Indiana, Laverne Leonard, Jerry Leonard and his wife Bev all of Cochrane, Edgar Leonard and his wife Marlene of Timmins and Derik Leonard of London. Dear mother-in-law of Denise Leonard of St. Catharines. Predeceased by her son Ronald Leonard and Larry Cortner, her cherished daughters-in-law Hazel and Pauline Leonard, her brother Adrian Blondeau and her sisters Marie Petroski and Angel Baderski. Also loved by her 19 grandchildren and her many great- grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the A. Bobby Merritt

MERRITT, Bobby - 1940-2007 - The family announces with great sorrow the sudden and unexpected death of Bobby Merritt who passed away while vacationing in Florida with his family by his side on April 12th, 2007 at the age of 66 years. Predeceased by his wife Joan (nee Hantske, 2002), by his parents Edith, 1965 and Wilfrid Merritt, 1972. His brother Carman (Chippy) Merritt 2002. Survived by his special friend Carolyn, by his only son Travis Lee, wife Kaci and his cherished grandchildren, Jineena, Kyler and Makenna. He will be sorely missed by his sister Rose Marie Boudreau (Camille) and brother Wayne Merritt, all of Timmins. Also survived by sisters-in-law Simone McIntosh and Debbie Landry, nieces and nephews, Bill Merritt, Diane Athanasiou, Brenda Merritt, Wayne Boudreau, Debbie Larocque, Catherine & Jonathan Merritt, Holly Holland and David Barkwell, and by his many cousins and special friends who he loved so much and kept in touch with over the years. Bobby was an avid ball and hockey player in the 50's and 60's and was still playing in the Oldtimers League, and enjoyed life to the fullest. His job took him to his new home in Reno, Nevada, where he had resided since 1966. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend and he will never be forgotten. We love you Bobby. Gwen (Nee Smith) Vanasse

VANASSE, Gwen (Nee Smith) 1925- 2007 - The family announces with great sorrow her death at Winbourne Park nursing home in Ajax, Ontario on February 21st, 2007 at the age of 81 years. Loving wife of the late Wilfrid Vanasse (1987). Dearest mother of Paul Vanasse (wife Lucy), Barry Vanasse (wife Joan), Jocelyne Hancock (husband Dick), Carol-Ann Carson, Ray Vanasse (wife Dulce) all of Toronto, Shirley Osipenko (husband Randy) and Sharon Poulin (husband Ron) all of Timmins. Grandmother of 16 grandchildren and great grandmother of 18 great grandchildren. Sister of Vera Donnelly of Guelph and Maureen Errey of England. Gwen was born on September 28th, 1925 in England. She met her husband Wilfrid at a family owned pub in England prior to him leaving for the War. Her language being English and his being French, they communicated with hand gestures and expressions. Upon Wilfrid's return from the War, they re-connected and were married . Wilfrid and Gwen moved to Canada and lived in Montreal for a while. They returned to England for a short time and came back to Montreal. They moved to South Porcupine in the early 1950's where they stayed in the area since that time. A funeral service was held in Whitby, Ontario at Mount Lawn Gardens Memorial in February of 2007. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in the CHAPEL of the MIRON- WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Timmins, Ontario, Fr. Mitch Sliwa will be officiating. SOPER, Mary - Of Chesley, passed away at Elgin Abbey, Chesley on Thursday, May 10, 2007 in her 96th year. Mary was the eldest child of Victor and Sarah Tobey of Tara. In 1938, she married the late Leslie Soper (1985) of Chesley. Mother to John of Woodlawn and Tobey and Tom, both of Chesley. A grandmother of ten and great grandmother of six. Survived by one brother Paul Tobey of Cambridge. In her time, she was a traveller, a teacher, a painter and an athlete. She is predeceased by her grandson Kevin and brothers, Wallace and Wesley. A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Chesley on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment in Chesley cemetery. He is survived by his former wife Aileen (nee Patton) and their 4 children, Trudy Aishford, Marilyn Goodwin, George Green and Shirley MacLeod. Grandfather of Kimberley Aishford, Ashley Goodwin, Darren Aishford and Kaitlin MacLeod. Survived by his brothers George Green of Parry Sound and Roy Green of Orillia, and his friend Michael Schmidt. REIST, Patricia Kathleen - passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Friday, May 11, 2007 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 67. Beloved wife of Clayton Reist for 46 years. Loving mother of Kevin and his wife Susan of Waterloo, Kristine Hadland and her husband Dale of Beachville, ON, Kathleen Milhousen and her husband Larry of Kimberly, BC. Dear grandmother of Scott, Kaitlyn and Rebecca Reist, Dexxter and Hooper Hadland and Amanda, Melissa, Samantha and Ginny Milhousen. Dear sister of Joyce and Ray Klem of Kitchener, Adelle and Andy Siegrist of Sauble Beach, Leon and Judy Ribey of Waterloo and Bevin Ribey and Linda Dougherty of Port Elgin. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Florence (nee Seaman) Ribey and granddaughters Brittanya Hadland and Krista Milhousen. Patricia will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Patricia was a long time member of the E.L.W. of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. As a hair dresser for many years Patricia made house calls to make it easier for her clients. The family announces with sorrow his death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday July 22, 2009 at the age of 91 years. Loving husband of the late Marie-Jeanne (née Lavoie) (2007). Dear father of Onil (Yolande), Léonide O’Malley (Robert) and Claire Monteith (Terry) all of Timmins. Sadly missed by grandchildren, Yvan Lemery (Debbie) of Chelmsford, Rock Lemery of Washington, Sylvie Lemery of Timmins, Alain Lemery (Joanne) of North Bay, Lynn Cyr (Jacques), Nicole Petrikowski, all of Timmins, Ashley Monteith (Todd Stewart) of Etobicoke, late Kelly Ann Monteith (1980), great-grandhcildren, Kyle and Taran Lemery, Corey and Keana Numainville, Liam and Alex Lemery, Andrew and Courtney Cyr, and Dakota and Hunter Petrikowski. Survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Antoine and Aurore Lemery, sisters, Geneviève Galipeau and Jeannine Clément. Daniel was born in Bouchette, QC, on September 7, 1917. He married his late wife Marie-Jeanne on July 2, 1940. He worked for the City of Timmins for 23 years and retired in 1983. The family has requested that donations be made only to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the Notre Dame de la Paix Church. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 24, 2009 from the Notre Dame de la Paix Church. Interment Timmins Memorial cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
