Willis Rae McIntosh
1925 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of the late Kathie (Cowie) McIntosh. Dear step father of Alexander "Sandy" Sayeau (Doris) of Stoney Creek and father of Pamela Galama (Stanley) of Brockville. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Jonathan Bullock, Stephen and John Sayeau and Justin Maheux and by great grandchildren Danielle and Tommy Sayeau. Sadly missed by his sister Mrs. Jean Pommerville of Brockville and by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A service in celebration of Mr. McIntosh's life will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 374 Stewart Blvd., Brockville on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment will follow at St. John's cemetery , Cardinal. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church would be gratefully acknowledged.

Mary Heder
1932 - 2004

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Anderson Heder, peacefully on Saturday August 7, 2004 at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital with family by her side, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Dora (Richardson) Anderson. Survived by her four children and three grandchildren: Susan Smith and sons Matthew and Tyler (Cardinal); Judith (Ottawa); Martha and daughter Naomi (Toronto); John (Toronto). Also survived by her older sister, Jean (Edward) Hutton and family of Monmouth, Wales; her cousin, Peter (Kathleen) Richardson and family of Ashley Heath, Dorset, England; her cousin David (Connie) Anderson and family of Fleet, Hampshire, England; as well as other Anderson and Richardson relatives in northern England.

At Mary’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. After cremation she wished her family and friends to gather together to remember her life. To fulfill that wish, her family invite her friends and neighbours to a celebration of her life at the Brockville Rowing Club on Saturday September 11th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam Donations may be made to ‘PCCC – Hospice of Providence’ at 42 Garden Street, Brockville, Ontario K6V 2C3 as well as at the memorial service.

Born and raised in Durham, England, Mary emigrated to Canada in her early twenties. An intrepid and adventuresome woman ahead of her time she first taught for two years in the Okanogan Valley in B.C. Next she taught at the Grenfell Mission School in St. Anthony on the northern tip of Newfoundland for two years, then on to New York City for a year. Coming back to Toronto she taught English at the Bishop Strachan School. Before starting her family she resided in Munich Germany for two years teaching English and traveling extensively. Upon her return to Canada she briefly taught at Brock University before focusing her considerable energies on raising her family. Mary’s warm and friendly presence as well as her love of life, intelligence, joy humour, wisdom, compassion, and loyalty to her children will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Earl Winter
1922 - 2004

(Retired - Ontario Ministry of Health 1947 - 1978)

At Brockville General Hospital on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Evelyn Winter (nee McQuade) of Brockville. Loving father of Lynn Morrison of Athens and Marion Roden and her husband James of Georgetown. Fondly remembered by his granddaughter Vicki Leith and her husband Graham of Morriston.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Tuesday evening from 7-9pm. In celebration of Earl's life a ceremony will be held at the Centennial Road Standard Church on Wednesday at 2pm. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Crematorium. In remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Centennial Road Standard Church will be gratefully acknowledged.

Luella May Jones
1921 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on August 9, 2004. Luella May Wolfe Jones in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Harry Jones. Dear mother of Harry Jones of Brockville. Dear grandmother to Matthew and Aimee. Also survived by a number of nephews. Predeceased by a twin sister Leora, sister Grace Jones and brothers Wesley and Emerson Wolfe.

Resting privately at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, thence to Streetsville, Ontario where funeral services will be held in Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday at 11am. Interment to follow at Streetsville cemetery.

Joseph MacLeod
1932 - 2004

On Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the Brockville General Hospital at the age of 72 years. Son of the late John and Lucy MacLeod. Loving father and grandfather of Paul, his wife Kristyne and their children Jason, Aaron & Justin; David, his wife Chelley, and their children Spencer and Shannon; Bonnie Groenendyk, her spouse Cameron Eadie and daughter Sarah; and Penny Brown and her children Lauren and Eric. Also survived by a brother Paul and his wife Cheryl, a sister Mary, Aunt Betty and Aunt Tilly.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at the Roselawn Tribute Centre, 2451 Maitland Road, Maitland on Monday afternoon at 3 pm. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In remembrance, donations to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

Irene Plummer
1921 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of Lloyd Plummer of Brockville. Loving mother of Jerry Gendron of Beaconsfield, Quebec and Richard Gendron (Diane) of Addison. Cherished grandmother of Chantal Richards (Donnie) and Christian Gendron (Sheri) and great grandmother to Michael and Lindsay Richards and Katie and Alexis Gendron. Fondly remembered by her sisters Jeannette Charland and Marion Desormeaux of Brockville. Predeceased by her sisters Simonne Lamarche (Nick) and Yvonne Lavoie.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Monday from 7-9 pm. The liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church on Tuesday at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.

Ronald Edward Ralph Noel
1930 - 2004

At the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville on Monday, August 16, 2004 at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of Margo-Mae Hewitt of Brockville. Loving father of Dr. Kathryn Noel and her husband Dr. Robert Macmillan of London, Robert Noel of Ottawa and Maureen Ring and her husband Shawn of Montreal. Cherished grandfather of Kristina Ring. Predeceased by his sister Marjorie Noel.

Cremation will take place at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland with a private family service at a later date. In remembrance of Mr. Noel, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.

Charles Morris Crewe
1918 - 2004

On Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Brockville General Hospital at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of D. Elizabeth (Frosdick) Crewe. Loving father of Sheila Dubyk (Wally) of Manotick and dear grandfather of Ryan and Brandon. Also survived by sisters Marie Thwaites (Spencer) of New Jersey and Louise Hewson of Manitoba; by sister-in-law Eleanor Fisher of Port Crewe; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Florence Crewe and by brothers Richard and John Crewe.

Private cremation will take place at Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland with interment at a later date in the Erie cemetery , Wheatley, Ontario. In remembrance, donations to the Friends of Fulford Place Museum or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged. In the care of Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville.

Lawrence John (Larry) Brennan
1935 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on August 21, 2004 in his 70th year. Beloved husband of the former Jeannine Lanctot. Dear father of Daniel Brennan (Karen Moffitt) and Catherine Stewart (David) of Kanata. Dear grandfather of Melissa and Brittany. Dear brother of Emmett, D.J. and Hugh Brennan, Evelyn Cunningham, Liela Quigley, and Alia Wensing. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Morris Poole
1936 - 2004

At the Brockville General Hospital on August 22, 2004. Morris Miller Poole in his 69th year. Dear son of Miller Poole of Brampton and the late Alberta Sheffield. Beloved husband of the former Kerry Blatherwick of Maitland. Dear father of Susan Jensen of Brampton, Colin Poole (Judy) of Frankville, Cassie and John Poole at home. Also survived by one grandson Christopher Jensen, and by one brother Gary Poole (Heather) of Brockville.

In celebration of Morris' life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 1:30pm with Pastor Laurence Croswell officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. In remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Centennial Road Standard Church will be gratefully acknowledged.
