Hugh James Osborne

OSBORNE, Hugh James - (World War II Veteran, RCAF) passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital on Friday February 22nd 2008 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Joan. Dear father of Gregory of Midland, Merilee of Calgary, Alberta and Sandy Friary and her husband David of Barrie. Loving grandfather of Matthew, Hillary and Connor. Dear uncle of Brad and his wife Linda, Beth Cole and her husband Rob, Doug (Rose) and Scott. Hugh will also be missed by his sisters-in- law Ruth Osborne, Marie Fitzsimmons and her husband Jim, and Brenda. Predeceased by his mother Agnes and dear brother Bill. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at 3NB and 3SB at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Friends may call at the Jennett Chapel of the McCLELLAND & SLESSOR FUNERAL HOME, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday February 25th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. BLACK, Rae Isabel - At North Bay General Hospital on Friday, February 22, 2008 in her 67th year. Rae (Pyette) was the beloved wife of Howard Black of Callander. She was the beloved Mother of Glen (Carol) of Timmins and Ken of Callander. Loving grandmother of Anita and Dean. Rae is survived by sisters Nancy Grogan of Bracebridge, and Lynda Pyette of Toronto and brother Bill Pyette of Orillia. Rae and Howard have been co-owners and operators of a local sweet business, Fuddy-Duddy Fudge for over 10 years. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PAUL FUNERAL HOME, Powassan. BOURGOIN, Myrtle - Mrs. Myrtle Pearl Bourgoin, 81, a resident of the Mitchell Nursing Home, Mitchell and formerly of North Bay passed away at her residence on February 21, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Bourgoin (1995). Dear mother of Linda Skelding (Joel) of Mitchell; loving grandmother of Kyle and Sarah Skelding, both at home; dear sister-in-law of Mary-Ann Beck (George), Madeleine Keller, Pauline Babineau (Gary), Jocelynn Hatzke, Edgar Bourgoin (Vivian) and John Bourgoin (Alida). Predeceased by her parents Edouard and Rose (Beaufort) Dupont, step-father James Scott, brother-in-law Wayne Keller and sister-in-law Venette Ball. Funeral arrangements are private. Anton “Tony“ John Golle

GOLLE, Anton “Tony“ John - 1950-2008 - passed away suddenly at the age of 57 at the NBGH on Wednesday, February 13. Beloved son of Margaret and Franz Golle. Brother to Frank Golle and Rose Maggisano of Toronto. Anton will be sadly missed by those who knew him. His laughter was quick and his smile was often. A memorial will be held at St. Andrew's church on Tuesday, February 26, at 11:30 a.m.

Dora LaChapelle

SISTER DORA LACHAPELLE - (Sister M. Noella). It is with great sadness that The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie announce the death of Sister Dora Lachapelle on February 22, 2008, in North Bay, Ontario. Born in Dill, Ontario, in October 1915, Sister Dora entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peterborough in August 1934 and was one of 121 Sisters from Peterborough who responded to Bishop Dignan's request, in 1936, to establish The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste Marie. Sister Dora's death brings an end to an era as she was the last of the founding members of the congregation. Predeceased by her parents, Eldege and Mary Louise (Vaillancourt) Lachapelle, her siblings, Joseph Eldege, Marguerite, Mary, Edward, Joseph, Francis, Theresa, and Raymond, and her nieces, Linda Skillen and Cheryl O'Grady. Sister Dora is survived by her nieces Freda Kantor, Sheila O'Grady, Karen O'Grady, Gail Lachapelle, Faye Lachapelle, and nephews, Francis Lachapelle, Eddie Lachapelle, Paddy O'Grady, Terry Skillen and Gordy Lachapelle. Sister Dora was a quiet, faithful servant of God ministering in the communities of Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Blind River, Sturgeon Falls, Schreiber, and North Bay. The body of Sister Dora will be received at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 24 in the Holy Family Chapel, St. Joseph's Motherhouse. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday evening. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, in Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Joseph's Motherhouse, North Bay, Ontario. Burial will follow at St. Mary's cemetery , North Bay. May Sister Dora rest in peace.

BARNIER, George A. Senior - Of Utopia, passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Margaret. Loving father of George R. (Debbie), Elizabeth A. Barnier, Margaret G. Graves (Paul), Kimberly J. Fowler (Jeff). Cherished grandfather of Cammie, Melissa, Robert, Benjamin and Jeffrey. Loved great grandfather of Braeden and Zachary. Dear brother of Kay Desjarlais, Rose Garneau, Beverley Cisco and Lawrence Barnier. George will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends may pay their respects at THE STEVEN R. Dear mother of David and his wife Teresa and Brian of Barrie. Loving grandmother of Blake and Trent. Pre-deceased by her brother Jack Martyn. Survived by her sister Avalon Larson of Nipigon. Susanah Helen Lantz

LANTZ, Susanah Helen - Taken suddenly to be with the Lord while skiing in British Columbia, on Monday, February 18th, 2008. Survived by her three sisters Deborah Wolfe, Esther Scott, and Bethany Lantz and three step-brothers Richard, Ryan and David. Daughter of the late Ruth Lantz and James and Maxine Lantz. Sadly missed by aunts, uncles and her many cousins. 28 year old Susanah lived her life to the fullest. Memorial Service will be held at Williow Creek Baptist Church in Midhurst on March 1st, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

SCOTT, Charles Wesley - passed away peacefully after a courageous battle at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto on Friday, February 22nd, 2008. Charles Scott of Grenfel in his 73rd year loving husband of Georgina (Dobson) and the late Erma (Stoddart) Scott. Special father of Brenda (David) Quinlan, Bonnie (Bryan) Neely, Brian Scott (Susan Millar), Marlene (Reid) Smith and Murray Scott (Lisa McCuiag). Step father of Andrew (Nancy) Dobson, Charles (Pauline) Dobson and Murray Dobson. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Kimberly, Jason, Steven, Michael, Thomas, Julia, Travis, Brett, Cory and Jake. Step grandfather of Georgianna, Charles Robert, Allison, Cameron and Matthew. Also survived by his brother Lorne (Holly) Scott and sister Helen (Roger) Murphy. Predeceased by brother Edwin (Donna) Scott. Charlie will be forever remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her children Jermiah and Ronald and grandchild Jerry. Beloved mother of Patricia, Jim (Diane), Barb (Late Tom), Margaret, Frances, David (Tamara), Debbie (Kevin), Judy, Randy and daughter-in-law Linda. Cherished grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Sadly missed by her brothers Johnny and Ken. Brian Shepperd Boyce

BOYCE, Brian Shepperd - April 10, 1949 - February 23, 2008 After a lengthy and very courageous battle with brain cancer, Brian has passed away. He is survived by his mother Yvette and siblings Donald, Darryl and Charlene. He will be greatly missed by the entire family and in particular his loving nephews Kaegan and Garret Walsh. The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff on 3 East McLaren for the warm and attentive care provided during his final journey. Their altruism toward their craft truly is inspiring. Our sincere gratitude is also extended to his palliative care volunteer Ron, who spent many hours with Brian in the past year. Private family service will be held in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to the McGuinty Funeral Home.

Dearly loved mother of Denise Paquette of North Bay,Dale Pipher (Gregory) of North York and Norman Savard of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren, Jean Martin Savard, Patricia Ann Savard-Chabbert (Steve), Michelle, Carole, Suzanne, Nickie and Lauren Paquette, and five great grandchildren. Dear sister of Marcie Gebhart (Vernon) of North Bay. Predeceased by her parents Nellie and Hector Larente, a sister Carmele Graff and a brother Joseph Larente. Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Tuesday, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday (time to be confirmed). Loved father of Kim and Dean Sitzes of Petrolia, Mike and Bethany Thompson of St. Mary's, Nicole and Michael Douglas of Petrolia, and the late Mark Thompson (2003). He will be missed by his grandchildren Stephanie, Brittany, and Jennifer Sitzes, Ashley and Brett Thompson, Heather, Caleb, and Darius Thompson, and Elle, Reed, and Roen Douglas. Cherished son of the late Charles “Chuck“ and Ada Thompson. Dear brother of Elizabeth and Bob Downs of St. Catherine's, Jane and Phil Hubbs of Alliston, the late Edward Thompson, and the late Albert Thompson. He was a loving son-in- law to Marcel and Georgette Corbin, and brother-in-law to Leonard and Nicole Chenier, Yvon and Deidre Corbin, Denis Corbin, and Aline Rolin all of Temiscaming. He will also be missed by his cousin Scott and Francine Thompson of Temiscaming. Robert was a long time employee with Nova Chemical. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 11:30 am to 12:45 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. A service of remembrance will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Hillsdale cemetery , Petrolia. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bluewater Health Foundation.

Predeceased by her parents Alma (nee Quenneville) and Elzear Savard, her brothers Midas, Joseph, Leo and her sister Alma Tremblay. Florence worked at Bingo 1 and also enjoyed playing Bingo very much. Funeral prayers in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Saturday, February 9th, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Cancer Centre. (Friends may call Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and after 10:30 a.m. Saturday).

Also survived by six great-grandchildren and by one sister Jean Graham of Hudson, P.Q. Predeceased by brothers Ralph, Lauder and Rodden Strachan and by a brother-in- law Donald Graham. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be Celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland. Richard “Dick“ Gamble

GAMBLE, Richard “Dick“ - WWII Veteran, Retired OPP - Peacefully with his family by his side at the Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, Dick Gamble of Prescott, age 85. Beloved husband of 24 years to Doris Marcellus. Loving father of Richard (Rick) of Vancouver, Karen of Toronto, Nancy of Valleyview, Alberta and stepfather of Robert Marcellus (Susan) and Sandra Lawrence (Bill), all of Spencerville. Dear brother of Joyce McIntosh of Winchester. Dick will be sadly missed by nine grandchildren, six great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Linda, a brother Alfred, sisters Betty McDonald, Irene McIntosh, Shirley Eastman, Nettie Hutt and a stepdaughter Ann VanLuit. A Celebration of Dick's life will be held at the Morrisburg Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 48 on Saturday, February 9th at 3 p.m. followed by a light lunch.
