Will be sadly missed by 23 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends (predeceased by 2 grandchildren). She worked at the elementary schools for many years as a custodian until she retired. She enjoyed doing many activities with her family such as native crafts, picking sweetgrass and berries, quillwork, guilting, gardening and playing bingo. She loved spending time during the holiday seasons with family and her many grandchildren. Loved going to camp. Resting at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah after 12 noon Wednesday. William Mills
MILLS, William (Bill) Lloyd passed away after a lengthy illness at St. Joseph's Health Centre on Tuesday February 5th, 2008. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife of 55 years, Marie (nee Snow), his daughters Barbara (Dan), Brenda (Brian) and his son Bill (Sue); grandchildren, Michael and Mark Deziel, Michael and Katharine Jiricka and Ashley and Alysha Mills. Dad was born in Howe Bay, PEI May 26th, 1921 to Emma and Charles Mills. He was one of ten children. In 1939 he joined the war effort. He belonged to the 17th Duke of York Royal Canadian Hussars (7th RECCE Regiment) and was part of the D-Day invasion at Normandy, France. He suffered injuries from enemy fire that resulted in a lengthy hospital stay in England. After the war he stayed in Europe with Canadian Armed Forces to assist with the allied recovery operations. When he returned to Canada he hired on for INCO and worked for 37 years at the Levack Mine. Dad was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 503 for many years, becoming a life member in 1998. When the Legion identified a need for ambulance services in the area over forty years ago he was one of the first volunteer driver/attendants. He participated proudly in Remembrance Day parades and other Legion activities. In 2006, Dad had a medical setback that resulted in an inability to walk and he was no longer able to live at home. He moved to Pioneer Manor directly from his stay at Laurentian Hospital and has resided there since that time. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Cranberry Place - Pioneer Manor for their care and many kindnesses to Dad. LENNOX, Roy Esten April 16, 1924 February 2, 2008 - passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his beloved wife Evelyn. Loving Dad of son Tom (and his wife Linda), daughter Linda (and her husband Fred), Son Robert (and his wife Margaret), son Steven (Predeceased 2003) (and his wife Marie). Proud Grandpa of Martin and Katherine Lennox, Laura (Jeremy), Paul (Carrie) and Neal Haughton, Richard and Mark Lennox, Maxx and Axton Lennox. Roy lived as a great example to family and friends of how to live with dignity, grace, kindness, generosity and love. He enjoyed with his family and friends golfing, wintering in Florida, fishing, sharing a good meal and a dry martini and watching sports events with a beer and munchies. Roy met all of his health challenges with determination and strong spirit. He was true, loyal and kind to all those who met him on the path of their lives. He leaves us here on earth to join souls he held close to his heart who left before him. We will miss Roy to our ending days. Words cannot convey our sorrow and love for the spirit of our Roy Boy.
