Suzanne Woud

WOUD, Suzanne (March 26th 1972 February 5th 2008) - Suzanne Woud passed away at the young age of 35 after a courageous battle with a brain tumour. She died peacefully at home with her parents and husband by her side on February 5th 2008. Suzanne is survived by her husband Dejan (Dan) Djuric, parents Antje and Evert Woud, dear sisters Katrin (Ed), Petra (John), brother Mike (Michele) and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held for Suzanne in the home at 95 Main Street in Bath Ontario. Your presence will be welcome on the weekend of February 9th and 10th between 10:00AM and 6:00PM on either day. BROOKS, Evelyn - At Terrace Park Lodge, Brantford on Tuesday, February 5, 2008; Evelyn (nee Steed) formerly of Burford in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Weston (Pete) Brooks (2000). Predeceased by parents William and Margaret Steed, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Lloyd and Lynn Rutherford, Paula and Sean Searson and friends of Terrace Park Lodge. Funeral service will be held at the KEITH OVINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 134 King Street Burford on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Pioneer cemetery. DRURY, Lloyd - passed away peacefully, at the Brantford General Hospital, on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008, in his 95th year. Loving husband of the late Florence Bourne (1996). Beloved father of Wayne (Ann) and Lorne (Jackie). Cherished grandfather of Darren (Rhonda) and Lauren (Paul) Dally and great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Tyson, Matthew and Noah. Lloyd will also be sadly missed by many other family and friends. Friends will be received at the BECKETT - GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, on Friday, February 8th, from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment Farringdon Burial Grounds. HENHAWK, Dorise Jeannette (MARACLE) - December 4, 1935 Surrounded by love at her home, Dorise joined her beloved husband, George “Beb“ Henhawk (1994) on February 4, 2008. Predeceased by her parents, Frank Maracle and Alice Powless and infant son Christopher. Forever missed by her children, Tony (Cindy, Roxanne (Gilbert) Seth, Judi (Bob) Sault, Glen, Steve (Julie), Deb, Doug (Michele). “Ol“ Granny to 21 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Frank (Erma), George (Josette), Muriel, Bernadette, Marion, Barb, Mildred and late brother Bernie and his wife Lyla. She will be missed by her cousins Jessie, Marilyn, Joan and Roy and friends Carol and Gary. Resting at the STYRES FUNERAL HOME, Ohsweken after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday February 8, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment at the Homestead. Evening Prayers 7 p.m. Thursday. Ethel Eugenie (nee Campbell) Myers

MYERS, Ethel Eugenie (nee Campbell) - Peacefully, at Ridgeview Long Term Care Centre, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, Eugenie Myers, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Erland Myers. Loving mother of Rudell of Hamilton, Rosalene (Rose) and her husband Don Nesbitt of La Salle, and Earla and her husband Don Sheppard of Stoney Creek. Dear grandmother of Vicki (Clinansmith) and great grandmother of Alison of Windsor and Paul Nesbitt of Chatham. Eugenie was a member of the Rebekah Lodge (Forward Lodge of Hagersville; Centennial Lodge of Brantford and Lynda Lodge of Lynden) for over 65 years. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, Ontario on Thursday, February 7th, 2008 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Hagersville cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Eugenie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.

Muriel (Joynt) Rutherford

RUTHERFORD, Muriel (Joynt) - On Wednesday February 6, 2008 Muriel passed away peacefully at her home in Chippawa at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her loving husband George (1975). She will be sadly missed by her daughter Marla Merritt (Chuck) and her son Robert (Jane). Fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Amy Marshall (Paul), John Merritt, Sara Rutherford (Tom Yurich) and Anne Rutherford and was the proud great- grandmother of Leah and Andrew Marshall. Also loved by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, a brother and other family members. Muriel was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Chippawa, she was an avid bridge player and over the years was a very active volunteer in the community. Above all, family and friends were most important to her. Cremation has taken place. Muriel's family will receive friends at the MORSE & SON CHAPEL of the MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Friday from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Muriel's life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Chippawa on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Private interment will follow at Lundy's Lane cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donations to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Accessibility Fund or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Blanche Bellaire

BELLAIRE, Blanche - passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the age of 91. Blanche Bellaire (née Boyer) was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Bellaire and loving mother of Réjeanne Fauvel (André), Jocelyne Birtch (Ron), Pauline Daley (René), Aurel Bellaire, Paul (Pauline- deceased), Hector (deceased Janet), Albert (Eleanor), Ernest (Dawn), Donald (Denise), Jerry (Doreen), Yvon (Romona), Richard (Chris) and Ron Bellaire (Christine). Memère will lovingly remembered by 35 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and she will be sadly missed by her sister, Irene Lamothe. Predeceased by her parents, Pauline and Joseph Boyer and several brothers and sisters. Family and friends may pay their respects at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Paroisse St- Vincent-de-Paul, Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains at St. Mary's cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Arthritis Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family.

David Biso

BISO, David - passed away suddenly at Sault General Hospital, Monday, February 4, 2008 at the age of 40. David Biso was the beloved husband of Lucie Desroches and loved father of Jessica and Aaron Biso and Michelle and Jason Desroches. Dear brother of Deborah (Michael) and Ronald (Mary). He is also survived by his step- father, Lawrence Guay. He will be sadly missed by special friend, Mimi McCurdy. Predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Ronald Biso. Family and friends are invited for a memorial service at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Friday from 1:00 until time of service which will be conducted by Reverend Ernest Bauserman of Near North Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by the family.

Alfred 'Chuck" Scalzo

SCALZO, Alfred 'Chuck" - passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the age of 82. Chuck Scalzo was the beloved husband of the late Eileen Gribbons and Nelda Zufelt. He is survived by his son Greg Stevens (Scalzo) and his mother Virginia Macdow of Toronto; his step-sons Danny Leahy (Juliana), North Vancouver; Tom Gribbons (Lisa), Rothesay, New Brunswick; Warren Gribbons, Toronto; step-daughter, Lauren Gribbons (Mike), Oakland, California. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren; Meaghan and Caitlin Leahy, Conor and Katherine Gribbons and Shannon Leahy. Dear brother of Gerald (Paula), Teresa Krysanski (Stan) and Gerry (Paula). He will be sadly missed by his friends Cathy and Jim Marmino. Predeceased by a son Ernest, his parents Florence and Joseph Scalzo and one brother, Raymond (Kay-surviving). Chuck was a former sales representative with Rahn Metals; he was also a War Veteran and member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, past President of the Davedi Club and a member of Clear Springs Golf Club. Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Rita's Church, Satuday at 10:30a.m. Interment St. Mary's cemetery. Doris (nee Gore) Townsend

TOWNSEND, Doris (nee Gore) - passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Wednesday February 6th, 2008 at the age of 83 yrs. Beloved wife of John. Dear mother of Christine Humphrey (Bruce Wendover). She will be sadly missed by her 3 grandchildren Kevin (LeeAnn), David (Renee) and Shannon (Bryan) and 8 great grandchildren Cameron, Corey, Kyla, Zachary, Ashlyn, Kloe, Reanna and Emma. Predeceased by her son John, son-in-law Gerald and her brother Arthur. Doris will truly be remembered for her beautiful flowerbeds, decorated cakes and her love for animals, but most of all her generosity, compassion, her willingness to lend a helping hand, to share a burden or to offer support. Doris's friendly smile, love for music and dance will be a vivid memory for all who adored her. Her absence will be felt by many. As per her wishes there will be no visitation or service. Graveside service will be held in the spring at Terrace Lawn cemetery. Donations in memory of Doris to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Gregory Robert Allen

ALLEN, Gregory Robert - Greg Allen, of Orillia, died suddenly in the Dominican Republic on Monday, February 4th, 2008; at the age of 57. Greg will be missed by his children that he cherished, Luke Allen of Toronto, Rebecca Allen of Orillia, as well as by their mother Kate Allen and Luke's partner Kelly Ofield. Beloved partner and best friend of Wendy Lou Paquette of Orillia. Loving brother of Gaynor Evanoff of Brantford and Phyllis Allen of Unionville. Much loved son of Christina Anderson and the late Bert Allen of Unionville. Greg will be missed by the nieces, nephews, other family members and the many friends he adored. Greg was owner operator of Visual Impact Productions and recently a driver for Laidlaw Buses. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church including “3:30 Live!“ and a member of the Orillia Curling Club. Greg had an incredible sense of vision and excitement about making a project come alive. He was engaging and passionate about everything he did, a man who loved life and everyone in it, whose gifts will be missed in our community. Sister of late Bernard, late Maurice (Alpha), late James (Phil), late Zeta (late Edmund) Kelly. Remembered by her nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Brechin on Friday February 8, 2008 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral mass at 11 A.M. Interment St. Andrew's cemetery , Brechin. Berniece Gedye

1920 - 2008 GEDYE, Berniece - passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 after a debilitating fall in January. Beloved wife of the late Jack Paul Gedye (1986). Berniece will be dearly missed by her loving daughter Lynda and favourite son-in-law Peter de Jonge van der Halen and by her loving grandson David and his fiancee Tami Wilkins. Berniece will also be missed by her friends who loved and cared for her. With heartfelt thanks to Evelyn & Bill Graham, Kathy Penton and Art Prosser, Joe & Margaret Woelfl, Ruth Yap, John & Cathy Walsh, Fran & Frank Novak, Connie & Robin Lott and the other friends and neighbours from Fairview Ave., a wonderful and caring community. We appreciate the caring and kindness of all of the staff in the Lancaster neighbourhood in Henley House and we are grateful for the Tapestry philosophy. FAST, Margaret E. - At Tabor Manor in St. Catharines on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, Margaret Fast, formerly of Kitchener age 93 years. Sister of Katherine Fast and Albert and Carmel Fast. Aunt of Susan Gosselin. Margaret was a member of the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church and had worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory there for over 30 years. Funeral Service will be held at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Friday, February 8th at 1 pm. A reception will follow and then interment at Victoria Lawn cemetery in St. Catharines.

SCHMIDT, Dale - On January 5, 2008 at his home in Edmonton, AB during his 53rd year. Loving son of George and Helen. Will be sadly missed by his brother Darrell and sister Karen (Norman) Kraft. Cherished uncle of Sarah and Bradley. Will be forever remembered by his family members and close friends. Dale worked in Edmonton for the past 30 years in the oilsands industry, enjoyed reading books and was a thoughtful and gentle man.
