Pindar, Wainright Ovren (Wain)
July 6, 1969 - October 14, 2008
A strong and gentle man who loved life, his family and friends, Wain left us much too soon. He was generous with hugs, pats on the back, and quotations from Seinfeld. He taught us to always wear shoes you can run in. He was always up for a game and his smile lightened our hearts. We will love and remember him forever. We are sad to announce Wain’s sudden passing on October 14, 2008. Thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Queensway-Carleton Intensive Care Unit for Wain’s care and for the kindness and support provided to his family and friends. Wain was a loving and supportive partner and best friend for his wife Gail. She will deeply miss the balance, stability and sense of fun that Wain brought to their marriage. Gail will forever cherish their life together and the many wonderful gifts of the spirit that they shared. Wain delighted in being a father and adored his son Emmett. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child in November. Wain’s wife, family and devoted friends will ensure that both children grow up with a strong sense of their dad and his love for them. Wain grew up in a close-knit and caring family. He was a devoted son and loving brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Eric and Esther Pindar (Mount Hope, ON), sisters Beverley (Roy) and Eslyn (Hamilton, ON), brother Greg (Portia) (Brampton, ON). His sister, Hazel, predeceased him in 1978. Wain will be especially missed by his nephews Shawn, Justain, Kenneth, Brandon, Jordane and nieces Alecia and Nikkole, who could always count on their Uncle Wain for guidance. Wain had an extensive network of friends from all stages of his life, from his many sports activities, and from his work. His good humour and competitive spirit will be especially missed by his long-time friends, Alan, Fred, Jay, Puneet, Richard, Rob, Steve, and Terry, as well as the Ottawa Ultimate group. Gail’s extended Ottawa family is also deeply saddened by Wain’s passing. He will be greatly missed by the Hauch-Kruegers (Alison, Alan, Taite and Mackenzie), the Argues (Kathryn, Brian, Sarah and Laura), and the Baldwins (Bob, Ruth, Noel, Mike, Jen and children).
