Accidentally, on December 19, 2005, at age 53. Survived by family and friends in the Philippines and Canada. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, on Friday, December 23, 2005 from 6-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11am. Reception to follow in the McGarry Family Reception Centre.

Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre, surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 29, 2005 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Lois (nee Sarrazin). Loving father of Claude Bumper (Angela), Michel (Donna) and Lise (Ron). Cherished grandfather of Rob, Jason, Kelly, Tanya, Taylor, Jordan, Shannon, Sonya, Angela, Dallas and great grandfather of 5. Dear brother of Georgette and the late Henri. A very special thank you to Candice Magee for her loving care and support. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom on December 4, 2005 at the age of 83. Loving mother of Allan (Diane Cardinal) of Markham and Marilyn of Ottawa. Proud and devoted Nanny of Christopher and Stephanie Park and Gregory Best. Great grandmother of Drew McEvoy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Island Lodge and Peter D.Clark Centre for the exeptionally kind and loving care given to Mom over the past 9 years. A kind and gentle lady, she will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed with sharing her life. It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Boville, proud Mother of Ronald (Kathryn Wimperis), Almonte. Cherished Grandma of Jay, Tim and Ken. Daughter of the late Sarah (nee McAllister) and William Millar. Survived by sisters-in-law, Maude (Bob) and Marion (Jimmy), and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Irene, Peggy, Sally (McConnell), Mary and Jessie (Shaw), and brothers William, Robert and James. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Tuesday December 27th, 2005 from 11 a.m. until service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment at Pinecrest cemetery. Our family is very thankful to everyone who cared for my mother in her years at Lynwood Park Residence and to the staff at Queensway Carleton Hospital. Special thanks to the wonderful caring team at Stone Ridge Manor in Carleton Place, whose love and support sustained us through the last two months.

Kenneth Thomas Buckingham - 12/25/2005

Devoted grandfather of Jamie, Jacklin and Kendra. Ken was a gifted artist and gardener who was dedicated to his family and community. Private family arrangements. Cremation with interment, Shelbourne, Nova Scotia. Arrangements in care of the Memorial Funeral Home of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. In memoriam donations to the Hospice at May Court or Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.

Isabella Sarah Bulmer (nee Hammill) - 12/06/2005

Peacefully in Ottawa on December 5, 2005 in her 94th year. Isabell was born in Milden, Saskatchewan in 1912. She was a lifelong resident of that province. Widow of Edward Bulmer born Forrester's Falls, ON, 1905). Loving mother of daughter Jane (Derrick Ho-Chung-Qui) of Calgary and Houston and grandma to Tina (Calgary) and Mark (Thailand), and of son the Reverend Canon Garth (Kathleen Arsenault) of Ottawa and Nana to Dominique (South Korea), Philippe (Ottawa) and to adopted grandsonher special friend Alexandre Villeneuve. Predeceased by all of her 6 brothers and sisters. Survived by many nephews and nieces and by sisters-in-law all in Saskatchewan, Jean Hammill of Outlook, Doris Hammill of Regina, and Grace Bulmer of Saskatoon, and many friends in Milden and Saskatoon. A requiem Eucharist in celebration of Isabell s life will be held at St John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 154 Somerset St. West, Ottawa, Ontario, on Saturday, January 7 at 12noon. Isabell s ashes will be interred beside her husband in Milden in the summer. During her life in Milden Isabell was active in many community organizations, loved to curl and play bridge, and was a lifelong member of St John s Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married . Robert Lee Clarke - 12/22/2005

Robert Lee Clarke died early Thursday morning of cancer. He was born in Vermilion, Alberta on April 17, 1922 to Harold J. Clarke and Leonora Opfergelt Clarke. He was educated in Vermilion, then at the University of Alberta (1939 1943), where he received the Governor General s Medal upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science. He went on to McGill University (1945 1948) to receive a Ph. D. in Physics. He worked at the National Research Council from 1943 to 1945, and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. from 1948 to 1968. He then joined the Physics Department of Carleton University where he served as department chair in the 1970s. He formally retired in 1987, but continued to work in Medical Physics research as Professor Emeritus, and served on university committees, right up until the month before he died. In addition, he spent many periods of research at the Institute of Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Belmont, Surrey, United Kingdom. He was instrumental in setting up the medical physics research section at Carleton University and assisted in setting up the Ottawa Medical Physics Institute in 1989. On the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the Ottawa Medical Physics Institute, the Robert Clarke Graduate Scholarship in Medical Physics was set up. Devoted to Canada and to physics, Bob was a member of the Canadian Association of Physics from the beginning and enjoyed many professional and personal friendships. In 1943 he met Vera Powell at N.R.C. They were colleagues in the Optics Section, and were married in 1945. There are four children: James (Betty Lam), Gwyneth (Craig Lewis), Alan (Madeline Weld), and Brian (Sandra Cooney). There are eleven grandchildren: Owen (Carolina Ibarra), Roger (Becci Gindin) and Edwin Clarke, Brandon, Denise (Mike Billy), Eleanor and Anna Lewis; Ansel and Derwin Clarke; and Liam and Colleen Clarke; and three great grand children: Catherine, Reeva, and Mike Billy. Bob will also be remembered by Betty and Lloyd Stackhouse, Patricia Clarke (late Donald), and nephews and nieces. His many friends enriched and broadened his life. Bob s interests were wide-ranging. He enjoyed games of tennis, and later squash until early 2005. For many years he flew small airplanes, in the U.K. and in Canada. He bicycled around Ottawa and took grandchildren boating on Dow s Lake. He enjoyed concerts at the National Arts Centre, attended Wednesday meetings at Riverside Kiwanis and delivered Meals on Wheels, where his regular Christmas delivery will be missed by many. He travelled extensively in Canada and in the U.K., and in many other parts of the world from Nigeria to Japan and places in between. The family would like to thank Dr. Bhimji and the staff on A5 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their care and compassion. There will be a Private Family Funeral Service, and a Public Memorial Gathering at Carleton University at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Robert Clarke Graduate Scholarship in Medical Physics, care of Carleton University, or a charity of your choice.

Elizabeth Gwyn Combes - 12/21/2005

Peacefully, at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Care Centre after a long struggle with cancer, Elizabeth left this world with her family beside her on December 20, 2005. Beloved wife of Robert Neufeld. Dear daughter of Gwen Buckingham of Parkhill, Ontario and Gordon Combes of St. Mary s, Ontario. Dear sister of Barry Combes (Carol), Pamela Mulholland (Lorne), Nancy Buckingham-Post (Marvin) and Jane Buckingham. Special daughter-in-law to Rudy and Anne Neufeld of St. Catharines. Ontario and dear sister-in-law to Joanne Lebel (Denis) of London, Ontario and Robin Bailey (Charles) of Trenton, Ontario. Liz was also a much loved aunt to Leigh and Steven Trimm-Combes of Toronto and Lucas Lebel of London, Ontario. Liz will also be missed by her many friends in Ottawa and across Canada and by her colleagues at the History Department of the University of Ottawa. The family would like to offer its thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and support staff who have provided such wonderful support and care over the past two years. Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Liz s life will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 2-4pm with words of remembrance at 3pm. Lewis R. (Lew) Crawford - 12/23/2005

WWII Veteran On Thursday, December 22, 2005. Survived by his wife of over 30 years, Martha. Also survived by his children Michele (Craig), Stacy (Delroy) and David. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Zachary, Sydney and Nicholas. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at the Aviation Parkway on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, from 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6255 Cumorah Drive, Orleans, on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at 11am. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundations Of Ontario.
