NICHOLSON, Kathleen -
Aged 74 years. At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Monday November 26th, 2001. Beloved wife of the late Norman Nicholson. Dear mother of April & her husband Joe Monteiro & of Norm Nicholson. Cherished "Nana" of Erin, Blaine, Katelyn, Marcus & Kimberly. Survived by her brother George Willey & his wife Grace. A Private Family Memorial Service took place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. Cremation has already taken place. Donations may be made to The Diabetic Foundation in Kathleen's memory.

WILLOUGHBY, Martha Jane (nee Hicks) -
Peacefully, on Monday, November 26th, 2001 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late George Willoughby, survived by her daughter Rose and her husband Don Ellis (Oshawa), son George and his wife Leowna Willoughby (Peterborough), son Harold Willoughby (Oshawa), daughter Marie and her husband Joe Taschuk (Saskatoon, SK) and son Job Willoughby (Oshawa). Lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren, Jane Burke, Gord Ellis, Rick Ellis, Anne Marie Hubbell, David Ellis, Dan Cross and Deanna Sunberg and eleven great grandchildren. Survived by sister Addie Roughley and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Bill and Bob Hicks. A Private Memorial Service was held at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel” 847 King St West (905-721 -1234) on Wednesday, November 28th with entombment at MOUNT LAWN cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Durham Region Cancer Center would be appreciated.

Cherished "Gramma" to 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Annie Sinclair of Burlington, Helen Fagan of Toronto and Margaret Hooper of Burlington. Visitation at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St. N., Bowmanville 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service in the Chapel 1 p.m. Tuesday. Interment Bowmanville cemetery. COOMBES, Claud Benjamin -
Went home to be with Jesus, on Sunday, November 25, 2001, in his 100th year. Born in Fulham, London, England, on November 1, 1902, to Moses Edward and Rose Annie Rebecca Maria Coombes (formerly Everett). Gland arrived in Canada under the auspices of Dr. Bernardo’s Homes on the S.S. Corinthian, landing in Quebec on September 22, l9l4. He was a G.M. assembly worker and U.A.W. member for 44 years and a longstanding and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Predeceased by his wife Eva (formerly Swallow). Survived by his brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Ernie and May Stacey and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 from 12 noon until the time of service in the chapel at 1 :0Op.m. Interment Oshawa Union cemetery.

Arthur in his 87th year. Loving husband of Irene of 67 years. Loving father of Shirley Brant, Bill and his wife Helen, Janet Ricard, Ron and his wife Joan, Anne Marie Beattie and her husband Gary, Susan Lewis and her husband Lee, and Jim. Lovingly remembered by 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Bill, Ray, Jack, his sister Maisie, and granddaughter Tracey. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday November 29th, 2001, at 1:00 P.M. Interment Union cemetery. (W.W.ll Veteran - Perth Regiment). After a brave fight with cancer, James passed away at home, with his loved ones close by, on Sunday, November 25, 2001, in his 80th year. Devoted husband for 49 years to the late Anna Rhea, who was called home 14 months ago, September 2, 2000. Father to Anna, Anita, Wayne, Roger, Lorne, Ken, Carol and the late Cecile (Bonnie). Much loved grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Loved and sadly missed by sisters Ada, Dorothy, Marion, Margaret and brother David. Predeceased by sisters Wilma and Kay. Peacefully with her children at her side, at Fairhaven Nursing Home, Peterborough, on Saturday, November 24, 2001, in her 82nd year. Dolly (nee Coons), loving wife of William Bolton of Lakefield. Dear mother of Elizabeth and her husband James Dubroy of Shelburne, Gloria Roberts of Peterborough, Jane and her husband Arnold Preston of Peterborough, William Bolton of Peterborough, and the late Tim Bolton of Lakefield. Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and predeceased by one grandson Jimmy. Predeceased by her sisters Mildred McFadden and Ruth Chappell and her brother Claire Coons. Following a private family interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, a Memorial Service will be held at Lakefield Baptist Church (Regent St. at Reid, Lakefield) on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 3 p.m. Friends and family wishing to commemorate Dolly's life through memorial donations, please consider the Alzheimer Society. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Dearborn) for 38 years. Loving father of Janette, Nancy and Debbie and her husband Michael DiLella and grandpa of Anthony. Dear brother of Delfim, Tristao (Melita), Rosa (the late Alvaro), Antonio (Lucia), and Arminda (Armindo) and Custodia (Antonio) both of Portugal. Brother-in-law of Fred (Donna), Doris (wife of the late Earl Bacon), Ray (Lena), Harvey (Ruby) andhis mother-in-law Mildred Dearborn. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
